I have been busy though you can't tell in pictures because I have two hats on looms waiting to get measurements for the height so I will have a perfect fit... Hope to finish those Monday!! I am excited about this set.. the stitches on the hat match the stitches on the cocoon except that I used a finer gauge loom for the hat. This set is for a baby shower gift for a young lady at our Church... I hope that she loves it... I think babies are so sweet in them...and they make wonderful picture props... They think the baby is a boy... but I wasn't sure so I went with the white.

For the Cocoon I used the largest round knifty knitter and 2 strands of #4 yarn.... I did a k (knit=knit stitch) and p on each peg 12 rows.

Then I did a double moss stitch which is a kk pp for two rows and a pp kk for two rows... I did this until the whole Cocoon including the brim reached 18 inches.

The hat is the same stitchs on the fine guage infant DaLooms loom...the brim is 3/4 and inche the hat total is 5 1/2 inches.

You have to post pictures so I can see if you make it and please give me credit for the pattern.
Hugs
Jeannie

Oh how I would love to make one of these. But I am not so good at directions. I usually have to see what someone is doing. Geeze and I am going to have another great niece or nephew around Sept/Oct. 2011 and that would make a great gift!

Jeannie: This is just beautiful!!! Please tell us how you made it, which loom, type of stitch etc. I would love to try and make one if it isn't too difficult. The white on white is just elegant!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I always love to see your beautiful creations. LOL!

I use the round yellow loom for cocoons.
I just make it like a really long hat, about 20" long.
Sometimes I make just a rolled brim.

Thanks so much, Jeannie, for sharing this gorgeous design!! I'll post when I get a chance to make one. I am trying to make the hat on the purple loom. I only used one strand of yarn and I am not loving the results so I think I am going to pull it off and start all over with two strands. I really hope that mine will be a nice as yours. Again, thank you for the direction. I saw these on you tube. I guess they are for photographers baby pictures. I think they would be great for bundling a newborn in.

I saw them on Etsy.com... you can get lots of ideas there!!... I would use two stands of yarn on the kk loom for the hat...it will be beautiful with the cocoon... use two strand on the cocoon.
