I am looking for a cursive type font that when cut out does not get real wide. Any suggestions?

Also which fonts do you find you use the most for words>\?

Lyrical Letters is a more 'skinny' font and has several options on it. That might work for you.
I have used Cursive 101 but it is pretty wide. Also the Elegant Cake cartridges has some nice fonts on it.

I use "Songbird" quite a bit and "Ornamental Ironworks 2"

Check Narelle's Cricut font guide. She has an example of each Cricut font.
