I went to use my new Teen Scene cart this weekend and the Imagine screen said I would have to update the machine first. I am scared to do this for fear my machine will be rendered inoperable.

So has anyone used this cart in their imagine yet?

Did you have to update? Did it ruin the machine?

What are all of the numbers on your 'about' screen? I have that cart and haven't tried it yet :) Just got back from a 3 day mini vacation though so can put it in my machine and see what I get as I know I'm totally up to date.

I will check. I am still at work at the moment, so I don't know if I will be able to do it tonight. But I will check and I'll also uncheck the multiple boxes like you suggested when updating; THANK YOU SO MUCH!

So after two months I finally synced my imagine--sorry it took so long Khrista!!!

I only did the content update, not the firmware cause I wasn't sure if it was safe. Here's what happened:

-updated and imagine says the version is 1.01
& 0111:0024:0239:202A

-Tried the Teen Scene cartridge and it still said I needed to do an update.

-Tried the Imagine Contemporary Nature cartridge. It said the cartridge contained a software that I needed, do I did it.

-Now my imagine is at version 1.01 & 0117:0024:0239:202A
BUT now my Teen Scene just freezes the screen, nothing happens and I can't even access the default shapes in the machine unless I turn it off and reboot.

So, any ideas???

I updated my machine a couple of weeks ago & I was scared to death it would kill it!! But I had a new cartridge I wanted to use and had to do the sync to use it. It worked fine after that. BUT....as of this weekend, I can't cut thru CCR (using build 132). Blink

Sorry haven't made it on much this week, swamped at work. So if you open cricutsync, you still have an update to do? I'd go ahead and update. If you want though, I have Teen Scene and will put it in mine tomorrow. I honestly haven't used it :) just flipped through the handbook for it. So I'll see if it is one that has issues if you're not wanting to do the firmware update yet. Been too long for me to recall who has or has not used that particular one in the Imagine.

CCR is having issues all over the place of late with the Imagine, even more so than previously it seems like :( Narelle may know what to do, but she's on vacation this week.

Well I probably will just end up doing the full update. I guess it couldn't hurt anything at this point since I'm unable to use the cartridge I want anyway Glare

I can do it this weekend and post an update to let people know if it went well or not. I also have another newer cart I could test too--the Frightful affair cart.

I'm thinking I might have to get another expression. I sold mine when I got the Imagine and now it's all I've got. As much as I love its possible capabilities, I don't think its trustworthy as a stand-alone machine....and I've got waaaaay to many carts for that LOL

Ok I checked both the carts you listed above on my Imagine and they both work fine. So either need an updated Imagine or you have a faulty cartridge. Expression- I'd watch to see what goes on sale for Black Friday. :)

I took time yesterday to do the full updates on my imagine and I kept getting errors-like it didn't or couldnt completely update, try again, etc. So I tried about 4 times last night and left it running all night. That didn't help cause I forgot to turn the auto-sleep on my computer off (super genius here).

So today I tried it and it finally was able to complete.
Cricut Sync said I am at: Version 21.18
Firmware: 0001
Content: 0035

My actual Imagine says I'm at: Version 1.01
(0123:0035:0239:202C)

And I'm happy to report that it will now recognize my new carts, woo hoo!!!
