Love love love the look of these !! I found the directions in an earlier post but I cant get it to work. Is there anyone out there that would be willing to do a video on this? or provide a different set of instructions?
Ok I promise this is my last question of the day !

I followed these directions by Krista Bakken. I used my mini and CCR. The only thing I experimented with was step 5. I welded the 2 rectangles to the letter halfs instead of the large rectangle. This for me eliminated the cut lines between letter half and skinny rectangle. Hope this helps a little bit.

I used my gypsy but i am sure you can do this in design studio

1. I made my big letter 10"
2. I made the last name the same width as the big letter
3. then i made a rectangle box that is 10" x 1.8" and centered it on the big letter
4. I welded the big letter and the rectangle box together so that the letter N would look like it is split.
5. I then made two 10" x .25" rectangles and put one at the top of the big rectangle (to over lap the top line) and the other one on the bottom of the rectangle (to over lap the bottom of the box). On the gypsy when the lines are overlapping the lines change color not sure what happens in DS. This is what you want. so the cricut cuts the skinny rectangles properly. Now your rectangle for the names is now smaller like 1.30"
6. now cut this out as one color (black).
7. I then chose a different font for the names and cut them out all on one line to the same width as the box (I think they were 1.10")
8. I chose a different font for the "&" sign and cut it out at 1.5"

I sure hope step 5 makes sense. there is still a cut line threw the letter because of the small rectangles but at least the big letter looks like it is split. when hanging you don't notice the cut line unless you are standing really close to it.

I sure hope this helps you out

Those were the ones I was trying to use and Step 5 confused the heck out of me LOL...I will try it again and use your change to step 5 and see if that helps.
THanks!
