Confused I have read these forums inside & out and thought I've looked everywhere but I cannot find that one, [1] helpful reply to different newbie w/questions regarding the older model cricut expression. She said she bought it a few years ago & hadn't used it until recently. Well... I'm another one of them, due to an untimely death, in the family. I'm at my wits end here. The replier, listed steps of order, of what she needed to do and the order in which she needed to do those steps. I can't find it anywhere.

-Do I first download the sync software in order to get my firmware updated?

-Then I download the Craft Room?

Somehow I remember someone saying that we need to register it-which I did but it would not let me put the correct 29-2261 number in for product number, it made me use from the drop down menu & now It looks like I can't edit it?, even though it did let me register the serial number correctly.

-I've created an account & user name for forums and now I really really want to get my cricut updated.

-Please, anyone who can help me, to tell me what to do and the proper order of steps I need to follow so that I don't make the hubby angry with me, for any problems we might encounter trying to update my cricut expression.

It's been a few years since I bought my Expression, so I can't remember the steps. In the box, there should be step-by-step instructions to follow otherwise I know I wouldn't have been able to do it. Were the set-up instructions in your box?

You can go ahead and download the craft room to your PC. I think you can even update your expression from there but could be wrong. You definitely want to download Sync. If you can't update fro craft room you can from Sync. I updated my gypsy but still need to do my machine

Good luck!!

Cricut Sync is used to update the Imagine, E2 and Gypsy.

If you want to use CCR, download the program. Use the same email address to set up your CCR account.

When you design and sent the file to cut, CCR will tell you if your Cricut firmware needs to be updated and how to do it.

Since you have your Cricut.com account already set up, download the CCR. You will also have the Adobe Air downloaded too. Download Cricut Sync. Once you connect your Expression to the CCR, it will prompt you to update if it needs to be updated. The rest is easy!
