Good morning. We had a tiny bit more snow last night, but right now (8:45 a.m.) it looks as if we will have a sunny day.

Kate and Jordan plan on driving back today. It is pretty much through noplace that they drive, just long stretches of straight road and not very many towns. Six to seven hours of not much.

Sonya, glad you got some scrapping fun in.

Sandra, the Star Trek exhibit sounds interesting. My BFF's family would love it!

Nancy, so nice that you took a wreath to the cemetary. And left over prime rib sounds yummy!

Sharon, I am sure that getting a new catalog is another Christmas for you! Too much fun to look through and drool.

DH had to go the dr today is he can get in. He has a blister on his incision now, and the doc wants to see it.

Megan got a Keurig from her fiance' so we have been having Keurig coffee. And Jill got a juicer from my SIL, so she made fresh juice for breakfast. However, she decided it would be better cold, so it is in the frig. Orange/strawberry/banana.

Hi everyone.

Sounds like everyone had a good Christmas. We did as well. Christmas and Christmas Eve were LONG days. Finally got my wrapping done and made some gift card holders. Finished just as my family started showing up on Christmas Eve for our get together. We always have a pizza party and my kids draw names and exchange presents that night. My sister, her kids and my dad come over for this night. It was kinda short for my dad, as he is 84 and insists on driving himself and it was snowing, so he ate and left.

Christmas day was long. My kids started coming over about noon. We had our grandson for a while while my daughter and SIL went to a movie with his siblings. So after our Christmas dinner some had to leave, but the rest waited for our daughter who is an RN, to get off work. She volunteered to work that day, so that those with families could be home with their kids, so she showed up around 8:30 and she opened her gifts and they all talked till around 10:30 My DH was so exhausted from chasing the GS. He ADORES his "gumpa" and drags him all over.

Love the blue shoes for the wedding shoes, and the cowboy boots or flip flops! Two of my daughters wore converse shoes, pink for one and turquoise for the other. Made some cute pictures. The one with the turquoise shoes, had her bridesmaids wear orange ones, (her colors were those colors).

We found out on Christmas Eve that one of our daughters is pregnant! I'm so excited for her, as she has been having fertility problems. She has endometriosis and has had a few surgeries for that. She has been trying for over a year with no luck. They had an appt with a fertility specialist to start some other treatments and the day before, her husband talked her into taking a test to just make sure before they went. She didn't want to, because she didn't want to be disappointed again, but she did. She said she probably took five tests that day because she didn't believe it! Now she's scared to death she will miscarry. So we will have two new babies this summer, one in July and one in August. (Our dd with the GS is also having one)

Wow. Sorry to go on so long! Really didn't mean to!

Have a great day.

Shelly, so exciting, two new grandbabies!!! We like to call ourselves the Crafty Aunties to babies on this thread - Layla and Abigail.

With two DD's getting married in the next few months, I am hoping to have grandbabies in a few years.

And I can sense your concern about your dad driving. My dad is 86 (on the downhill swing to 87) and he thinks he can drive just fine. We really try and keep him out of the Boise area. There is just TOO much traffic there for him to be safe. As long as he is on country roads, he is somewhat OK. My mom has pretty much given up driving on her own. She is 88.

Joy, my dad is doing amazing well for someone his age. On his mother's side of the family, they live long lives. My grandmother (his mom) died at 90 and she was the youngest of the females. Her sisters were in their LATE 90s (97 - 99) and one was 100. His grandmother, my great grandmother was almost 102! He is good about not going out in too bad of weather. But, he scares me. We have gotten a lot of snow the past few days, and he does snowblows his whole street. It keeps him active. Last summer was the first year he did not golf almost every week day, and he walked it, at least 9 holes everyday and a lot of days 18. He just felt he didn't have a powerful enough swing anymore and it wasn't as fun. He also quit going to the gym in the winter and just walks a mile or more everyday. At the gym he would get upset if he would see a women who could outdo him on weight machines! I had to keep telling him, they were LOTS younger than him and it was ok. Only wish I was as fit as him. He will probably outlive me!

I am so excited to get these grandbabies!! Hoping my other daughter is pregnant soon, as she said they are trying to. Could have a bundle soon! Now if my oldest daughter would just find a good guy!

Grandkids are fun! Hope you get some in a few years! You can play with them and send them home when they are tired and grumpy, and spoil them rotten and let mom and dad deal with it.

Shelly, it sounds as if your dad is in really goood shape. That is great! My mom's mother lived to be 96, and all but about six months by herself in her own home.

My dad still thinks he hunts. I think he mostly rides his four-wheeler around, but he has fun. We are all just happy when he does not come home with any wild game. Flapper

And my parents still garden, and not a small one. We keep hoping that they will downsize, as the family does help when we need to. They do good for their ages.

And I was smiling. Our oldest DD shows no signs of even dating any time soon - she is career oriented. It is the middle and youngest that are getting married soon.

Middle and her fiance' booked flights for their honeymoon today! I think youngest and her fiance' will have to put off theirs for a month or two. He is going to work for an accounting department and they are getting married in the middle of tax season.

Hi everyone;
Spent the afternoon at the Starwars Exhibit. It was great...sil really loved it; he said it was the highlight of his trip here.BigGrin! Then he and dd treated us to dinner on the way home at Fatburgers. Turned out to be a lovely day. Just downloaded a bunch of pics and sent them off to Wal-Mart for printing. Will pick them up tomorrow when we go for family photos. Now to find some Starwar scrapbooking paper, not sure if there are any carts with anything on or not.

Shelly: congrats on the new grandbabies. Fingers-crossed everything goes well for both of them. Both of my dd's have been married 4 years and I'm still waitingLOL

Joy: my mom turns 84 on Jan. 1, has slowed down a bit this past year but still thinks she can do everything. If the Starwars Exhibit comes your way make sure you go see it. I'm not sure where it goes from here.

Sonya: glad you got some crafting in, hope you were able to make it to the gym

Sharon: hope the orthodontist appt. went well for your dd.

Well off to hunt up StarWars paperBigGrin!
Take care everyoneBigGrin

Sandra what a great picture.

Nancy glad you were able to get to the cemetary before it got too crowded. I imagine it would be pretty peaceful there.

Joy 1 tree is enough for me to decorate. I'm just not that into Christmas anymore. I think it's living here, it's just not the same.

Sonya no worries on the french toast casserole. I might not have cooked it all the wat through either and the syrup we have here isn't that great. I'll try again sometime and see if it's better next time.

Today I'm working on an order for some snowflakes for a babyshower. She's going to put them on some gourmet chocolates. I'm cutting them at 1 1/2 inches then glittering them, I'm making 80 of them. Have I mentioned I don't really like glitter? It gets everywhere. Oh well.

Better keep working on it.

Did i tell you all that we ended up with 8 inches of snow. I didn't buy my son boots this year. The years that I have, we have gotten no snow, so I didn't bother. We're supposed to get more tonight. I let him wear my boots yesterday to go outside for a bit. He had fun, didn't care he was wearing fuzzy topped ladies boots. LOL

I made a few cards last night with a new stamp set that I got. Super cute. I love to stamp!

Sandra, that is a lovely family photo! I always shy away from the camera. Always so self-conscious! Maybe next year though, I am hoping I will be more comfortable & can do some nice family pics.

8" of snow, wow! We only got a dusting to 1/2" here the other day. By morning it had rained so much it had all gone away. Meant to get 2-4" tomorrow though. Girls will be happy as they can run outside & play in the snow tomorrow!

I love to stamp too, have way too many stamps, need to sort through them & sell some! Of course looking through the new CTMH stamps I have at least 6 stamps I just have to have! One is a paper doll stamp! It has a stamp for the body of a girl dressed in underwear then there are I think 3 outfits you can stamp, that have tabs on them! So darn cute!! That is a definite for me, as I have my girls, they will love to stamp, color them in & cut them out!

My mouth is numb right now, went & got a filling done this morning. That is never fun, but the dentist is amazingly nice & so gentle, so didn't hurt at all. I guess soup & soft food for me for 24 hrs as it was a silver filling (way in the back of my mouth).

Sandra - What a nice family picture. Thanks for sharing it with us. Hope you get some grandbabies soon. I think my grandson is going to have his nose out of joint when these two new ones come. He will have had everyone's attention for two years and to share it will be interesting.

We got more snow last night! We are probably at 12 inches since Christmas Eve. I'm ready for it to be done!

Sharon - Hope your mouth is better. I hate the dentist. Need to go back for more work after the first of the year.

I got a tablet for Xmas and I would like to find the pdfs of the cricut cartridge handbooks to put on there. Does anyone know where I can find these now that cricut took them down. Don't understand why they would do that.

Oh, I also got a new dryer yesterday. Mine went out in October. We were hoping to get it fixed, but it was too much. It comes sometime today, so no more hauling wet clothes to the laundromat. I'm just glad its only me and my husband's anymore. I've been married 31 years and we have always just bought used ones, and this time I got a new one. We've always had good luck with them. I think we've had three in that time.

Have a great day everyone!

Sharon,my mouth hurts for you. I always end up with a headache when I leave the dentist chair.

Years ago SU had a paper doll set. Megan still makes them every few years.

Shelly, we have been married 30 years, 31 in June. Have you looked in the shopping area for handbooks? It is a pain, the library was much nicer, but I think most of the cart handbooks are in the shopping page. You have to find the individual cartridge. Although I think I have read that some of the newer carts don't have handbooks yet.

Sonya, my arms are tired thinking about shoveling eight inches of snow!

When I get the urge to color, I stamp something. Although Santa brought me several nice coloring books!!! :) I thought I had crayons, but they turned out to be Rose Art, which are not very good. Megan just brought over a box of hers for me to use. Megan loves crayons and has lots.

Angie, I make syrup. One part brown sugar, one part white sugar, and one part water, plus maple flavoring. So, like one cup of each sugar and one cup of water, or however much you want to make. I usually do two cups of each at a time, maple flavor to taste, and then I have it for the next time. Merle's favorite breakfast is waffles, and he uses lots of syrup.

Kate got a tablet for Christmas. I am typing on it right now. I wish I could log in on the tablet part of my Nook or my phone.

Sorry, forgot to finish typing before I attached the pictures. Anyway...There is one page for her for each day we were gone. I made the pages, hopefully, match things she was planning on doing that day. My other daughter's album that I did the night before we left, I didn't get pictures of. She is supposed to send them to me, but who knows when. It is pretty similar.

I got the idea off of Youtube, cardcrazy09 - cardztv

Shelly, your album is wonderful!!!! WOW.

Sonya,how is the scrapping going?

I have been putting together invites all afternoon. DH will probably need to print about 20 more.

And DH, Megan, and Brandon have been moving Brandon. He is moving back in with his parents until he and Meg get married, but most of his stuff is being moved into Megan's house. And Megan has to get rid of a bunch of stuff like furniture and appliances, since his were nicer than hers.

Thanks for all your kind comments on the picture I posted.

Nancy: I know how you feel about all the cookingGlare! It feels like all I've been doing lately is either cooking or laundry! I will have to check into that cart for our Star Wars pictures. What is the full name of it?

Shelly: your vacation books are so cute, what a great idea. Enjoy your new dryer.

Joy: glad you were able to get some invites done. Hope all the moving got done

Everyone else is watching a movie upstairs, so I thought I would hide out down in my craftroom and do some crafting.BigGrin

Take care everyone. Have a great day/eveningBigGrin

Didn't get the invites done, but got a long ways on them.

I was bad today. I bought a card. We had a wedding reception to go to, and I just didn't get one made. Oh well.

Our youth pastor is probably about 35 or 37 years old, and a good six feet tall. For the teen Christmas party, he found red flannel footie pj's. His wife posted a video on facebook today. They were picking up his parents at the airport. The youth pastor wore his footie pj's, he was jumping up and down like a two year old, and was yelling "Mommy!" I laughed till I cried. You could tell from the looks on people's faces as they were walking by they were wondering where he was supposed to be. To make it even funnier, his dad looks like Santa - beard, tummy, and all, and as soon as his dad walked through the doors, the pastor ran to him and grabbed him and hugged him. No wonder he gets along with teen-agers so well!!!!

Ugh, it has been back to work again, I really could have done with a few more days off LOL. We are still in the midst of our heatwave, it is draining and hard to find the energy to do much. today I have a housewarming party to go to, have to take a dessert and that requires putting the oven on, it is going to heat up the house even more!! I have a card that I made with a bird house on it which I am hoping I can adapt to a good luck in your new home card as I don't have time to make one.

I don't think there will be any grandchildren for me for a few years yet but that is okay, I can wait BigGrin

Well I woke up expecting to see some snow falling outside, but not yet. Meant to get anywhere from 3-5 to possibly 6+ depending on what weather service you look at. Will be nice anyway as we have nowhere to go today or tomorrow. Girls are excited to play in the snow!

It is killing me not to be able to order the new CTMH stuff yet! I can order Jan 1st & customers can order Feb 1st. I want it in my hands now!

I have some coloring books too, that I like to color occasionally. I have flower fairies coloring books, those are my favorites. Such pretty pictures.

Joy, that is brilliant about the youth pastor. Too funny! LOL Oh & I have also been known to buy a card. Not very often, but if I wait until the last minute & realize I don't have one on hand or don't have time to make one then it gets bought from the store! I probably only buy maybe 2 a year from the store now though.

Debbie, I feel for you. I am not looking forward to going back to school next wednesday already! I love my job so much, but could do with one more week off, next week!

Sandra, I love our crockpot! Actually was going to cook a roast today, maybe I will put it in the crockpot instead. Our favorite thing to make is pulled pork. I think it is the pork butt we use, put it in the crockpot with kosher salt rubbed into it. That is all & stick it on automatic all day. By dinner time it just falls apart & you have pulled pork, it is sooo good!

Sonya: touch wood; we haven't had snow in a few days...I'm sure more is on it's way sooner or later. Hope you got lots of scrapbooking done

Angie: your snowflakes sound so cute

Sharon: hope you are feeling better after your trip to the dentist. The paper doll stamp reminds me of the paper dolls we used to have as kids...though they were bought in a book already colored, we just punched them out

Everyone else is watching a movie upstairs, so I thought I would hide out down in my craftroom and do some crafting.BigGrin

Take care everyone. Have a great day/eveningBigGrin

I used the cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up on page 77 I took the image and designed it to look like a Star Wars outfit.

I am not sure if you were looking for SW images because i don't think there is such a cart!!

Making a paper doll and using this cut came out cute.

If I can find the photo I took of the card I will post it.

Debbie I have used a bid house for a house warming card it is perfect.

Well on a good note DH got his Sleep machine yesterday... very interesting contraption!!!!

Took him hours to fall asleep but finally did.. He has to rent it for 3 months and they monitor him he must use it everynight...

Once he does that then he will get his machine for good...

Went to chiropractor early this morning 7:45am then off to Supermarket looking for a Turkey
finally found oneBigGrin I don't know if there is a shortage but they didn't have many out. I bought a small one because honestly I don't want to be in the kitchen all day New years Day so we bought a 15 pounder and I will make all the trimmings to go with it.

If I had my way I would have skipped NY Day celebrations but it has been a family tradition from when I was a child (My dad's Birthday) so even when he passed in 2001 we continued along with my mom.

Last year I skipped it and DD was sad.. poor baby so this year i will do it.

Then off to the Diner for a nice home cooked breakfast..
.
DH had Ginger Bread Pancakes with Maple syrup and bacon

I had the usually American Cheese omellete with egg whites LOL Had to cut the cholostrol some where...

Sharon.. sounds like this new catty will be a good one I have to be good on my craft spending.

spent way too much money on Christmas this year

Shelly... congrats to DD on being pregnantBigGrin

Abigail was funny yesterday she was playing with a new toy most of the day she played with the cloth tagLOL not the toy the tags

OK Girls,

I know most of us make our Chrismtas Cards, my Stampin Up Gal every month has a class that you make Christmas cards usually 10 Assorted Holiday cards and by the end of the year your have your cards all done.BigGrin

So why not start making your Holiday cards even if you do 5 in a month..

So here is the deal.....

I will have a contest... for 1 month don't know the prize yet...

Just this month I would like everyone to make a CRICUT CHRISTMAS CARD/ Holiday Card. it must be only Cricut Cuts..you can have embossing on it and embellishments but it must be cricut cuts..

I will give everyone until Feb. 1st. to complete their cards

Oooooh. I'm in for the Christmas card challenge. I didn't get any made this year like I wanted to and wanted to try and make a few each month. This will help me really do it!

You should make Abagail a "tag blanket", (I think that's what they are called). You get some small pieces of soft fabric, 2, about 12" square and sew pieces of ribbon and ric-rac hanging out of all the edges. Made one out of minky material for my GS. He loved playing with that.

The Star Wars dolls sound cute. You can do so much with that cartridge!

Sharon - The paper doll stamps sound like fun. Your girls would probably have lots of fun with those. I remember them as well, from my childhood. Loved playing with them.

Sharon - Love my crockpot. Have you seen those bags you put inside it, so that clean up is easy. I love those things. Just take it out and throw it away when done cooking, and hardly any clean up.

I am wanting to do some crafting, but my husband has been off all week and is following me around because he is bored. I don't know what he is going to do in the winter when he retires in a few years. In good weather, he goes hiking and works out in the yard, but with all the snow we've had, he has been stuck in the house and crabby, and is driving me nuts. He's off all next week too! He wants us to go to stay in our RV we park in Mesquite, NV in the winter next week, but I have lots going on I need to be here for. He's might go by himself, if he doesn't guilt me into going. As much as I love him, he is driving me nuts, and it might be nice for him to go without me for a few days. Am I awful?
