When you open a saved project in Cricut Craft Room how do you know what cartridges you used? In design studio it would tell you what ones you used.

You can right click on each image and the pop-up will tell you which cartridge.

If you have anything grouped or linked, though, you will have to unlink/ungroup and pull the images apart and then get your handles/box around the images to see what cartridges you'll need. If you do this, you can go up to the curved arrow at the top left of your menus and hit that left curved arrow as many times as it takes you to get everything back the way you had it. Be sure to hit SAVE after you do this. IT'S NOT SO MUCH A PAIN AFTER YOU DO THIS A FEW TIMES. It probably seems like a lot the first few times you do this.

It doesn't bother me to just go into CUT and let the system tell me as I have to inject them into the machine....but, sometimes, it is nice to know ahead, too. Basically, I just hit CUT and let the system tell me what I need. When you're working on a project and coming back into it and want to make changes, maybe it makes more sense to do as I stated in the first paragraph.
