I've been having trouble with the paste feature and can not find a solution anywhere. Is there a way I can reset my screen or fix the paste option so what I'm trying to paste will actually show where I can get ahold of it??

Zoom your mat out (5th button on the top toolbar) until you can see your pasted object.

Sometimes though it will be pasted too far over to the left and zooming out doesn't help. In that case use Ctrl A to select everything on your mat and it should get picked up then. Drag the selection over to the right and you should see it.

What I find works best is this:

FIRST - Have the green eyes open on the two mat layers you're working with...all others turned off.

SECOND - Click on the image and right click on the bottom right corner to COPY.

THIRD - Go up and turn OFF the green eye of the mat your image you're copying is on.

FOURTH - Go up and click on the NAME of the mat layer you want to paste to until the open space around the NAME goes white.

FIFTH - Go down and left click on the mat...and, then PASTE. Wait a few seconds...sometimes it takes five or ten seconds.

Sometimes, it does paste on that first mat....then, I just try the whole thing again. MOST of the time it works pretty good.
