Sorry Gwen, I've been lurking without posting. So much puppy drama! And I am pup-less again....Crying Crying Crying Crying Crying Crying Crying Crying

But I am still here, working on my stuff and trying to get ready for mail-out day. I hope to have some stuff partially ready so I can take it to Mania and work there and maybe get some inspiration (last minute, I know) if I get stuck or hit a snag.

Mother Nature is my favorite. My project turned out just as I imagined, which does not always happen for me. I hope my partner will love it, it's unusual and unique. I will have a hard time saying goodbye.Flapper

Me, Too...

Dear sweet Bonnie had to go back to the shelter because I cannot keep her safe/make her happy in the long run... MAJOR separation anxiety, she hurt herself getting out of her crate, then escaped not only the crate but the back yard fence... Daddy and I came home and she was out in the sidewalk by the street. I even went to our vet to ask about anti-anxiety drugs. Poor Bonnie needs to be in a home where someone is ALWAYS home with her, or at least has other doggies to keep her company. I miss her so much!!

Yep, I[m sure you'll have a puppy in your arms soon! Everything happens for a reason and it will all work out for the best for you (and some lucky puppy too!)

Okay, here is your next opportunity to win a RAK from me:

First to post a sneak peek picture of what they are sending from Group 2!

Tip for the day:

Regarding packaging up your items in the box.

As I've already said...it's nice to wrap everything up in some way. Whether it be tissue paper or similar paper, or sliding your project into an envelope, or bubble wrap if it's fragile.

It's more fun for your partner to open up her box and see a pile of "presents" and it certainly helps protect all the projects as they travel across the country.

But the other important part of packing a box is that you want to be sure to place the items in the box so that there is no empty space and no wiggle room. Remember, these boxes get tossed about, upside down, etc. So you need to fill the space with peanuts or crumpled up brown paper, plastic grocery bags, etc.

If an item can't move about or wiggle back and forth, it has a better chance of arriving still in one piece and undamaged.

Also, try to stack items to protect them. Try to create some space around something with 3D flowers on it, so that you can cushion that area with the peanuts or bags, so other items in the box can't push against the flowers and crush them or tatter them.

Hopefully you will find this helpful as you pack up your boxes later this month!

Gwen,

When we package up our stuff to ship out should we send you the tracking info? I can't remember if I read that somewhere or not Blushing Also I know that everything needs to be mailed out BY the 30th BUT ... if possible is better to send it out the week prior?

Yes, please PM me the DC so I know you've mailed and we can track it. Makes life much simpler for me when I have all the DC #s!

And yes, you can mail before the 30th.

My only thought on that is that it seems like it's more fun when boxes start to arrive in same general time period. So I myself would probably choose to not mail until others were saying they were ready to mail too.

And now that we're down to the last 3 weeks, it would also reduce a lot of stress if you all would start checking in a little more often and keep us updated on your progress please.

Attention everyone:

After the weekend, I'm asking everyone to report in with an update on their status of completion for this swap. We are getting down to the wire so you should really be concentrating on having a good crafting weekend and nearing toward completion.

Also, when you are ready to mail, would you please first PM me and let me know.

Thank you!

I am only half done, but I don't work outside the home and I spend lots of time cooking, cleaning and for the next three weeks crafting!!! I am only planning on buying two things, so there, I'm more than half done. I seem to work better under pressure, and I am hoping to get some tips and inspiration at Mania, too.

Just letting you all know that if the gals in ohscrappylady's swap do not receive their spring tickets from her in the next couple of days, then she will be removed from this swap and I will make adjustments or arrangements.

I have to put my hostess hat on and assume that if she's not communicating in her own swap, not mailing out to them, then she's certainly not planning on mailing out in this swap either. Why someone would take the time to quickly check in here last week, but not have the courtesy to check in and reassure her own swap participants that she's received their packages and will be sorting and mailing out ASAP, is beyond me! That DD was the end of March. She wasn't checking in prior to the days leading up to the DD and she hasn't checked in at all on that thread since the DD. That is one huge Red Flag.

Been awhile since we had to deal with a flaker hostess...but this is what happens when you join swaps where the hostess is a newbie, with few posts and little experience in swapping with us. Please tuck this info away for future decisions when joining swaps that include cash.

And in the meantime, we'll keep our fingers crossed that she decides to be an honest swapper after all and gets those spring tickets mailed out. They all must have done an excellent job on those tickets, for her to want to hog them all to herself! Or maybe it's the cash included for return postage that lured her to the dark side of flakers. Who knows, but I'm sure she'll have a good excuse when she shows up next - they always do....
