My wife won a Cricut cake and I would help her use that gift. Before buying a software i think i should be able to have Windows recognize the machine, right?

I've tried installing CDM20802WHQLCertified already downloaded the drivers from the link http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm and nothing. I've tried it on Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8 at last and everyone has the same behavior, an unknown device appears and says that the USB device has malfunctioned.

I'm desperate.

Thanks for the help.

Are you trying to get the machine to work with the Cricut Craft Room? Not sure what software you are thinking of buying, she'd just need a Cricut cartridge to put in the machine to use as a stand alone machine, but if you want to use it on the computer you have to download the Cricut craft room.

A few minutes ago I got it, I had to install the Design Studio and then the driver I mentioned before, there has come to recognize. The computer is because she needs to print the logo of a beer

You do realize that she can only cut what is on a cartridge?

You may need to go to the Cake machine forum, just click on Cricut Community and scroll down until you see the forum for the cake machine, it may or may not work with Design Studio, i have no idea but best to check over there. Or go to the main forum, click Cricut Community and go the General Chat and under that you will see Cricut CHat, more people are on there then these boards.

Sorry for asking, but are you sure about that? Even using programs? Because my wife has seen several different cuts from SVG files with Make the Cut! and others.

Sorry again and thanks

The Make the Cut program doesnt work on Cricut machines unless its an older machine. As for Design Studio, like i said look on the other forums, i'm sure this question has been asked and answered before just not on this forum, go to the main forum as i described above and you should be able to find a response.

The latest versions of 3rd party software are now not Cricut compatible.

The older versions that did work with the Cricut are no longer available for sale.

Anything that your wife may have seen cut with one of those programs on a Cricut must have been an old version.
