UPDATE 2/24......The winner has been chosen by True Random Number Generator.....#42......married05! CONGRATS!!! Love Love Love

UPDATE: FEBRUARY 24th......I have reached 3000 posts! Yay! Thank you all! Love Love Love Blessings, GG.

Hello all you wonderful Cricuteers! I am going to be celebrating my 1 year Message Board anniversary on February 24th. I cannot believe it has already been a year. I have gotten to know so many amazing, kind, sweet, generous crafters on the MB, and feel as though I am a better person for having you all in my life. You challenge me to improve myself, to learn new things, to be confident, to give, give, give, and to walk the path God has laid out for me. I have so enjoyed, and continue to do so, the many swaps and RAK's In which I have been involved. For these reasons, I wanted to celebrate with a Giveaway. I will fill a Medium Flat Rate box from the PO with paper, and crafty goodness, and surprises, and send it to one lucky person who signs up on this thread. And that is all you have to do....post that you want a chance to win! I will keep the sign up open until high noon Central time on the 24th, and then choose a winner using Random Number Generator. You can only post once though! So, help me celebrate my 1 year anniversary, and sign up below. Blessings, GG.

P.S. I am also very close to 3,000 posts, and would like to reach that milestone as well, if at all possible, by the 24th. I have somewhere around 2,805 posts at the time I am typing this. I would love it if you would help me out by posting a question I have to respond to when you sign up for my Giveaway. Thanks! GG

Oh wow, that is a tough one. Hmmmm...I would say my favorite thing is that it has opened up a new avenue for me to witness to others. Because of my Cricut, I started teaching free card classes to the kids 5-18 at my church, and will soon be teaching an adult class as well. I also share my Faith here on the MB and through the cards I make. AND, I love the sound she makes!!! I have an AE E2, and most people, including myself, describe the sound as akin to dragging chains...lol....but I think it is great. Everyone knows Mom is crafting when I fire my girl up!

Thanks for the question, and for signing up! GG

Thanks for the chance to win. I must say, I always open a thread started by you, as I admire your work so very much.
So my question is, Where do you get all of your inspiration for your beautiful cards?

Thanks again for this fun thread.

I would also love to enter. I am fairly new on the boards. I have been muddeling my way through owning cricuts for years now. I finally used my rewards points to join the circle and found these boards and an addicted. There are some of the kindest most wonderful people on here and I get lots of inspiration and help on a few things I have posted.

Thank you for sharing your creativity and also for the drawing.

Have a great day!

MOgoggingirl....Thank you for your sweet words. I currently have 102 carts, and 1 on the way. I have been very blessed to have been given many of my carts as gifts, or purchased them from EBay for a low price. I also have purchased many used carts and some new ones from kind folks on this MB. GG

Willysmom....thank you for saying my cards are beautiful...what a lift to the spirit! As far as inspiration goes, well I love to go for walks before I sit down to make anything. I have always felt very in sync with nature. God gave us such a lovely home if we take the time to appreciate it. Walking gives me the time to work through what I am going to make and it is great exercise. If I just cannot go for a walk, I listen to music...al kinds....country, rock, Christian, gospel, jazz, punk, etc., though I must admit I am not a rap fan! One other thing I do is look at my vast collection of art books full of the paintings of history's greats. I wish I could paint like that! Their genius gives me inspiration though. GG

Sherri Kay...No, I do not have a blog. I just don't know if I could keep one up right now. I have three very active teenage boys, an equally active DH, do a lot of volunteer work, and have health problems that leave me incapacitated. I just do not know how people with so much more on their plate than I have do it! Maybe someday! GG

Laryn....Yes, aside from my Cricut, I have to say it is my Singer sewing machine that my DH bought me in the first year of our marriage. He secretly saved money for 6 months to buy me that $79 machine. We have been married 19 years, and it is as good as the day he surprised me with it. I have made clothes, quilts, home decor items, Christmas ornaments, every Halloween and school play costume my 3 boys have ever had, curtains, 6 wedding gowns, oh, so many things to list on that machine. It has sentimental value, and that is why it is my fave. My DH has tried many times to get me to let him buy me a machine with more features, lots of bells and whistles, but I just will not give it up.

For cards, I love embossing folders. They add a special touch that you just cannot accomplish with anything else. Plus, if you need a card in a hurry, just emboss a blank, and you can have a unique, special card no time flat. GG

Thanks grandmaJ! Honestly, I get sad and angry and frustrated and depressed, and all that stuff just like everyone else, but I have a place to go to when I feel that way....the loving arms of our Savior, Jesus. He gave me a loving husband and 3 amazing sons who think I hung the moon and stars and make the sun shine just for them. When I see their smiling faces, I can't help but remember how blessed I am. And, if I do not feel particularly blessed at the time, I say it until I do. I make a choice every day, every hour, sometimes every minute, to be happy. Try it, it really does work. When I think of all the terrible tragedies in this world, and there but by the Grace of God go I, I could let myself wallow in despair, OR, I could be the smile someone needs today, the helping hand someone needs, the thank you someone needs, the love of Jesus. I usually do not go on about my Faith so openly on the Message Board, because I feel this is a place for crafting, and I should respect that boundary, but since you asked Laugh Laugh Laugh .....that is how. A conscious choice and an effort, sometimes supreme, to be happy, to be positive, to smile, to laugh, and to remember and count the blessings that God has given. Luv ya! Blessings, GG

I don't always come up with great questions, but since you asked - what is your favorite cricut cut? I know some are on multiple cartridges, that is why I ask about the cut rather than cartridge BigGrin

Josie....I love to alter things, like furniture, clothing, picture frames, old wooden kitchen items (spoons, cutting boards, rolling pins, etc). I also like black and white photography....love going to auctions and flea markets and finding old B&W photos. GG

BCSQ.....EVERY WORD YOU SAID IS TRUE OF YOU. I SO LOOK FORWARD TO CRAFTING WITH YOU AS WELL! GG

scraprageous......I like cuts of antique keys, like those on Victorian Romance. I love the couple on that cart as well, especially the cut of them leaning in to kiss. I also like the cuts of dressing forms that are on a few carts. GG

Congratulations Godot's Girl on your 1 year anniversary...thanks for the chance to win an awesome prize. I love that you are so generous...especially on the Cut Swap thread where I know you from! And you do such beautiful work!

Question for you: What would you say is your scrapping style? Cards or layouts? Altered projects or mini-books? thrift store finds or brand new products? or do you just love it all like me!

Thanks again!

Patricia,

Happy Anniversary! I'd like in on this giveaway as well BigGrin

Okay... here's your question. Have you ever made anything steampunk? If so what? And did you like the process?

Thank you all. I wish I could have an anniversary every day! So many of you have said such sweet things about me, I feel all warm and fuzzy...lol!

lauraa.....my fave place is in my husband's arms. If you are talking geographically, it is on my in-law's farm. Up over the hill from their house is a beautiful outcropping of rocks overlooking a meadow. DH and I want to build a house there some day. We bought that part of the farm a few years ago so that in the future we could have our dream home.

Larmabee.....yes, Canadians can join in!

Crafty Touch....I have been ill quite a bit over the past year. I am in liver failure due to an auto immune disease, so I had lots of down time. Also, I do not sleep well. I try very hard to comment on every project I look at, even if it is just a Cricut head, or a Great Job!

TeresaRussell....cards, altered projects, thrift store finds. I will try anything once though...lol!

Kazalah....I love the Steampunk style and movement! I have not made anything Steampunk other than cards that use Steampunk elements. I would love to get together with some true aficionados and learn to make something!

Simone....oh my, I couldn't even begin to choose! New Testament, Quarter Note, Create a Critter 2, teddy Bear Parade, Folk Art Festival, and Victorian Romance all come to mind.

Blessings,
GG
