Is anyone aware of a cartridge that allows you to create the initial that is split in half in which your name is spelled out? In other words, if your name was Johnson, there would be a large J and the J would be split in half and your name johnson would be spelled out in between the two halves of the J? I'd really like to make one of those as a wedding gift for someone thanks

You can do that yourself in DS or CCR or the Gypsy.

Just put your large letter on the mat and then get a square or rectangle from one of the shapes carts (like george, or plantin) and put one side right in the middle of the letter and drag the other side outside the other side of the letter. You'll end up with a letter that is split in half and a rectangle shape with half of the letter cut out of it.

Here's a screen shot of what I mean.

Is this what you are trying:

Krista Bakken explains it well in this post:

Floating frame - split initial

Her projects are awesome!

Does anyone know how to split a design that is larger than.12 x 24? I would like to make a desk from vinyl that is larger than 24 inches. I would split the design would cut out in 2 or more sections. I would then reattach on the wall

Thanks.

Using Design Studio, it's easy. Just hang the image off the mat, cut what's on the screen and then move the image so the other part is on the mat.

But with CCR or Design Space, if part of an image is off the mat, it won't cut any of the image.

With Design Space, you can create your image in parts in other software and import the parts into Design Space.

On the FACEBOOK page for Design Space, there are files with all the letters split in the Regal font. There are also some youtube videos on how to do this. I know that many are not fans of Facebook, me neither. I signed up for facebook a while ago to enter contests. I keep my page private. My sister set up a fake name account, so she could do what she wanted without her stuff being out there. With that being said, the FB page for DS is wonderful. They are sharing files and ideas. Many nice people. You can be on that page without anyone else seeing your page. I did not mean to open a can of worms and I am sorry if I made anyone mad, I just want everyone to know it is a very active group.
