Hello to everyone,
Well it's that time again to post the new sketches for the week. Please use as many as you like but do come back and post your creations as we love to look and see.

This week I have 2 sketches for you to follow, Sandy found this new site to us both and kindly let me show the first sketches from it. Do go over and check her out as her sketches are so refreshing. www.milolilja.net

The extra credit challenge is to make a card for a special occasion. As I have quite a few coming up in this month and next that should be an easy one for me.

As always do try to use your Cricut where you can but most of all have fun.

Sue.

oop's have to go get better photos, well that didn't come out very well I will have try something elseBlushing . If you go look at the site the sketches are #1 of 64 and #20 of 64. Sorry I will go look to see if I can improve on these.

Sandy has come to the rescue, keep scroling down the page for a nice look at the sketches.

Well just to give you an idea what you could do with sketch #1. This is a card I made for an order.
I started with a 6x6 cream card blank and then I used 4 different papers from the Miss Matched Collection from Kaisercraft.
I embossed the back ground paper using a stitch design. I inked using TH crushed olive. I used Story Book cartridge for the branch and flipped, the poppy flower and accent blackout for the mat behind the sentiment. Pearls from stash and a couple of SB dies for the birthday greeting.

Thanks for looking.

Sue

Okay so I've been sharing with you guys that I will be moving over the summer. Because of it, I've been working on some projects for my house whenever I move. This is one of them that I worked on all week last week and why I didn't participate in the challenges. So here's the link and I hope you guys enjoy them!

The funny thing about this is that I started this project off of a shower curtain that I purchased from Walmart. I purchased a shower curtain that had most of my favorite scriptures on them. So I took the idea and transformed the same verses into a picture frame. I used the edging of a page and glued them down onto the paper and bordered them with gold glitter glue. Just to give it some bling! So that is how I did these and I have to say they came out pretty nice. Putting these in my main bathroom of my home whenever I move this summer. :) Scripture Picture Frames

AcrossThePond,
Thanks for the nice sketches. Have to make a March 23rd b'day card for someone special and wanted to use one of the sketches, but the someone special is my step-son, so will have to use a different sketch or really reconstruct one of the two sketches to work for a male card! You know how men can be...the less blingy and foo-fooish the better!BigGrin

#1 - Very pretty, love the paper pattern and colors. The embossing really adds diminsion to the BG and I like all the layering of the frames, great look! Something black in this card and you would have nailed the Ad Colors, too!Smile

Dee,
Thanks for the Ad Color Challenge, colors will be just right for my Extra Credit for this week.

christine,
LOVE your project inspired from your new shower curtain, very creative!! Love the colors, butterflies and the glitter, but the Scriptures are the best part of the project. Your bathroom is going to look awesome!
Great work!!

First I'd like to apologize for not doing the challenge last week.
Darn life got in the way. lol
*My husband requested a birthday card for his dad. His dad has kept EVERY card I have ever made him and even hung special shelves all over his house to diplay them.
*I been working on my Southwest cartridge contest entry.
*I've been trying to keep up with my blog posts.
*I have made and sold ten of my Happy Easter What? cards
*I made leprechauns for our kindergarten teachers.
AND that darn old job keeps getting in there, too. lol

Sue- Thanks for the great sketches. Your card is beautiful.

Sandy- Thanks for clearing up those sketch photos.

Dee- Love the ad colors.

Raquel- You and your stomach. (tee hee hee) Careful it might inspire another card. lol.

Christine- Beautiful artwork.

OKAY YOU ENABLERS!!!
I just got an ATG tape dispenser last week (with a coupon of course)
Now I'm gonna NEED the Zyron, too. lol
Can you really ever have too many crafting items. Hmmm I don't think so.

Happy crafting everyone.
D-

Turtlebug - Don't feel you need to use one of the sketches to make your special card you can do your own design for that and it will be lovely to see it.

Dragonfly - Wow you have been busy lately, darn life gets in the way for us all sometimes, still it's great you can pop in and say Hi.

Chrisine - I do like your framed work, very nice indeed. I have some thing similar to do myself for my smallest room too.

I was going to post this tomorrow but I thought "heck get it on there, why wait". So this is my Special Card. As you can see it is for my Mum & Dad who are celibrating their emerald wedding anniversary. This was the only card they received with it on as they are so hard to find over here Huh .

The card is 6x8 and I have used a Spellbinder die for it. I also used the "tie the knot" embossing folder, loads of green gems and some ribbon oh and a button she gave me in that lot I told you all about before. The sentiment I printed out. The paper underneith I have had from 2008 when I bought it from Jo ann's.

Thanks for looking, Sue

Across the Pond -- Thanks for hosting. As usual, your cards are absolutely gorgeous! I love this new site for sketches. The sketches are quite lovely, and I hope to join in this week.

I have so many birthdays and other occasions coming up and need to get busy making some cards. I haven't been making many cards lately. I have mostly been working on a lot of mini albums and have fallen way behind on my card making.

Sandy -- Thanks for clearing up the images.

Dee -- I really like the color combinations this week. Thank you for taking the time to post them.

Everyone have a wonderful day, and I hope to be back to see more of your beautiful creations.

Sue, Wow great sketches this week!!! Love your sister card and the paper used is so very pretty... As for your Mum and Dad card it is so very elegant. I am sure they will cherish it.

Dee, Great colors this week. They work so well with my first card of the week that I will post later in this post. Thanks so much!!!

Christine, you framed project will decorate the walls of your room so very well. Good Job!!!

Gisele, I have to agree with Sue... we can't wait...

Jennie, Hi hope you can join in the fun this week.

Dragonfly, life does get in the way sometimes... hope you can play again soon.

Here is my first card... I started out doing sketch 1 but it just didn't work with this card for my son-in-law's birthday on St Patrick's Day... made this for my daughter to give to him. Still need to make one from us for him.

Cartridge: Craft Room Basic for the clover (hearts), the background paper is my own generated on my computer and used spellbinders dies.

Thanks Sue for hosting great detailed sketches and something a bit different than usual. Thanks Dee for the colors, great with St Patty's day coming.

Sorry I have not been around much but things have been crazy around here with Mom leaving son visiting and staying in my craft room, taking the Copic class and trying not to get behind BUT I am behind.
Still have a card from last week sitting my desk about 75% done that I will post when I get is put together.

Here is a card I made to go with the first birthday card I made this week, again its an order.
This is not from any sketch but thought I'd share it as I put it together using my Design Studio (which I have had for years and only used maybe 8 timesBlushing ).
The cut is from Paper Lace and is a sq on there but this card is a 5x7 so I altered it. The flowers are from AE and the swirls SB dies but I only used the scraps that were cut out as it is double sided paper from Kaisercraft. I embossed using the swirl folder and inked over with a green/blue pad to make them pop. I made a slit for the ribbon to go through and added a gem.

Sue.

Good morning, ladies --

Sandy -- I love the digi stamps that your DIL designed and your coloring is wonderful. The lace adds such a nice touch.

Bingo Lady --Your husband is going to really appreciate the card you made for him. It is lovely. I especially love your background embossing and the paper colors.

Sue -- What a wonderful card. I love the cut from paper lace with the little "windows" and your choice of papers is perfect. I am sure she is going to love receiving this card.

I did get busy last night and made my card for sketch 1. It is a birthday card for my sister. I used Letter Envy Font for the heart, Cricut Essentials for the scalloped circle, and Ultimate Creative Series Sampler for the flourish (I think it is from the Home Decor Cart). I added some sparkle with a Gelly Roll glitter pen (I just love that thing). It doesn't show up well in the picture, but it just makes everything sparkle. The card is 6x6.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Jennie

Sandy, how cute!!! what a cute digi from your dil. Love everything about your card!!!

Bingo, what a cute card and that is a good way to use swirls. You did a great job!!!

Sue, WOW love your HB Auntie card. You also have some talent putting those papers together. Would my cards come out that pretty if I was to use design studio... if so I need to go purchase it right away... BigGrin

Jennie, Very pretty HB card for your sketch 1. Love the whispery swirls and the bling.

Here is another card for my SIL and it doesn't follow the sketches. I did try but it just wasn't coming together on a 5x7 card... I need to get some 6x6 envelopes so I will do more 6x6 cards because I hate making envelopes.
