Just clarification on the clipboard tag if someone is not able to open that link - it is a 4 x 8 embellished tag (both sides) with a clip on the top or top corner that will hold the other tags. It is not an actual clipboard. The clip can be a bull nose clip, an office clip of some kind, clothes pin, etc. Thanks, K

Hello PlanLady !!! My esteemed partner in this quest !!! I have read your request for some Vintage Shabby Chic goodies and I will shall do my best to accomodate that...and will happily avoid the bright PINKS as long as you can resist the temptation (no matter how strong it may be) to send me anything BLUE !! LOL .... Hey - they don't call me "Cricut Crazy" for nothing !
I have to watch the ClipBoard video because I have no idea yet what I have gotten myself into...but I figured if I could alter a RAT TRAP for Kelley last month that I could manage this !!!

Have a great week everyone. KM I was glad to see that Kelley let you in - pick up the pace girlie - whatcha doin' bringin up the rear ??!! LOL Razz

Kelley, thanks for clarifying that about the clipboard. As I do not use FB, I had ignored your FB link - so I had NO idea that it is a clothespin attached to a tag. That puts a whole new spin on things for me.

I went on youtube and found several videos hosted by that infamous Bona - so now I totally understand why you wanted to do this swap! A nice twist on tags!

Melody, I am editing my answers to the questions.

And Melody, just so you know up front, according to your answers, I will be going with shabby chic or vintage and I am not even going to begin to try to put an Asian twist to that. So please do not be disappointed! lol

I posted some more video for the tag....you do not have to make both tags that are in the video - make the 4 x 8 larger one, add a clip, but you do not have to add all the stuff they do on there. See the opening post - the requirements are the same for both the pocket and the clipboard tag - the only difference is you will either make the pocket or a chipboard tag a your base.

Thanks, I just posted some of those videos on the opening post. If you are making a clipboard tag , I think those videos are helpful to get ideas.

I have an idea for one of my 6 tagsBigGrin

Ok, so last night I come home and there was happy mail. So I opened and it was the cricut circle cartridge that Provo Craft sent out to their circle and former circle members. Although I think it is a wonderful gesture, the cartridge is just too cutesy for me - Animal Antics. Among other things they have an Elephant Vacuuming. However, I was just a little shocked when I looked at the cover more closely....I would say that this is more a kid friendly image cart....yet in the words section ......one of the phrases is Stay High......ummmmm Knowing this probably wasn't their intent, that probably wasn't thought out super well.

LOL.

So it was YOU who sent me that orange steampunk card with the weed inside tied with a grunge ribbon and that phrase.LOL LOL LOL Flapper I feel sorry for all the husbands who are probably going to get the TAKE OUT THE TRASH cards, or maybe the kids. Then again, it may be well deserved.

I got my Animal Antics cartridge today as well, and I have to agree with Kel...it is very "cutesy" and I have very limited use for it, although I like the font. I will probably end up selling this one. Good for someone with lots of children to craft for.

KM - You must stop trying to get Kel to send you those cards with the orange painted weed in them ! Cool LOL

Sorry about that Candy! I wanted to make it pretty general so my partner could easily use from their stash! Isadora is 4 and so most of the scrapbooking I do is of her. I plan on using this in a scrapbook so if you do Easter anything no religious would be great and for summer we swim a lot and spend time at the beach. I hope this helps!

First of all we're not that good; at least not good enough to be afraid of! LOL LOL

Secondly I think the ladies with the most varied/eclectic tastes are way easier to create for than the ones who request something very specific. I figure if someone's going to be that specific they may as well make it themselves because there's very little chance I can measure up.

I've swapped enough now to know enough not to say "send me anything" because I might wind up with purple paisley rhinos so I just specify what I wouldn't have use for (ie: neons). But I have been told it's stressful for some people not to have a theme/style to go by so that's why I throw a couple out in case my partner needs it. I prefer partners to make what they like to make because that makes for a more enjoyable swap and usually a nicer item.

JMO

No palpitations necessary - as long as it isn;t pink - it will be wonderful. I absolutely loved what you made cob so I don't know why you would be worried.

I have learned so much in these swaps, and continue to learn from what I get so I wouldn't want something I would do for myself. An example is the first frame swap I was in. I didn't even think to finish the back or some finishing touches when I made mine. When I received mine from FamilyScrapper...it was incredible. She had painted the entire thing. She had so many little personal and finishing touches, that I would have never thought to do. So when I did my next one, I took those ideas and applied it with my own style and design. You do great work Lori and I am so happy to have you as a partner, I cannot wait to receive anything you make. As long as it isn't pink or cutesy go with what ever you would like to make.

Although we all have different styles, it doesn't mean one persons items are better than another. I love to see the different things that come out of one challenge. If we all created the same, what would be the fun in that?

QOD: Crafty plans this weekend? Mail swap/rak items, wait with baited breath for the announcement of the winners of the tattered florals challenge contest, work on the tag swap.

So I have been trying to stretch myself a little and practice different styles. LOL - I attempted girly/shabby chic and I used a girlier color- purple. OMG That was hard. I am glad I did it, but I do have to confess a bit of my inner grunge did come out when making the tatterd flowers. Check out my blog for my entry to the TH contest. I am still second guessing my self and think I maybe should have done something more in my comfort zone.Hoping one of these days I will have a partner that wants purple shabby chic with a touch of grunge.
