We now have just right around a month left to get this swap done!! That first month really flew by, huh!

Remember, the purpose behind a junk journal is to provide a place of creativity for the ideas that stay ideas and for the ideas that become future projects. It is a free space to play in, and because of that, there is no right or wrong way to do it - the right way is your way. For me, the purpose of a junk journal is to have fun and have open expression, no matter what form that comes in. So, have fun with it, be inspired, and create!

Well I was about 85 - 90% done with this one. After a major craftastrophy yesterday, I will be starting over from scratch. Crying It will still be good though. All I had left was to make the covers and bind it. Then do a few little more details and embellies and that was it. Crying I'll still be able to get done on time. Just need to restart. Josh was so sweet he offered to help.

still a little teary eyed over the whole thing. Friends came with their five kids. They are great kids and love them. I had been babysitting them for 12 hours a day while the parents worked on their storage unit. Yesterday I went to go run some errands for josh's birthday in the morning for about half a day and was going to babysit later in the afternoon. The dad stayed at my house with them, while the mom ran their own errands. I had done little crafts with the kids while I was watching them. Well they asked their dad if they could craft and he said yes! I came home to find my craft room demolished...good paints spilled that I have in a drawer...(the luminare 8.99 a bottle), all my swaps that I had been working on...(the tags-the main tag plus the three I finished, the rak I started for you, and the junk journal that was almost done )all cut into pieces and glued to tons of alterables...including the ones that I pulled for the red white and blue swap. The is paint and spray all over my cricut, the walls, the desk....the projects they made had a ton of sprays used on them, tons of pieces of what used to be my projects, a gigillion half back pearls and other good embellies on them.... i was totally sick. THere is more damage in there, I just cannot bring myself to really go through it all right now. It was bad enough I had to search for my token code for work amongst the rubble all day. I know it is just stuff....time to get the big girl panties on...get over it and move on. I think I am most sick about the projects. Granted mine may not be the best, but I always use good materials and put a lot of time and effort into them.

Oh my gosh Kel, that is horrible! Didn't expect to hear that it was this bad. I can imagine what you are going through. I would be so upset. Yes, these are just things but the stuff gets expensive and all your hard work you put into your swaps and projects. Oh my! Sounds like the dad just let them go to town and didn't check in on them. So sorry to hear!!

Thank you. Today is a new day. What wonders a good nights sleep can do. I am just going to tackle the room today after I get done working and then start a new. Life gave me lemons, now it's time to start making that lemonade.LOL

Hi to my partners, Kelley and Gwynne.

Kelley, I think you should let dad read these posts , so he can get a clue as to the damage that occurred.

He should be pulling out his checkbook , and writing a good one, to cover the damage and more as well , for the time, effort and love you put into all your projects.ThumbDown But I know your crafting spirit will ultimately prevailThumpUp

thank you for your support. I was upset for two days, but realized that being upset doesn't make it better. As we all know life doesn't always go according to plan and people don't always do what we think they should. I could be still crying, but instead I got up early got josh to his baby sitting gig, did work, then got to cleaning. I started redoing one of the projects. I got two tags made today. Plus being the craft supply hoarder that I am, I still have plenty without having to go buy more. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

I have a question though, since I've never done one of these...for those of you making junk journal from scratch, about how many pages do you make it (actual single pages). ThanksBigGrin

I am good...but thank you for offering. I appreciate it so.

Robin - I make mine chunky so I do about 25 to 30 pages of pattern paper, plus assorted tags and pockets, then I add a chunk of lined paper, graph paper, and ledger paper. I do it in sections like 5 to 6 pages of the patterned paper, tags, pockets, then the lined graph and ledger paper, then do that 5 or 6 times depending on how many sections I am making. Hope that helps.

Here is how I do mine.

I cut down the 12 x 12 sheets to 6 x 9. That gives me two pages and two tags per sheet.
I cut down the 12 x 12 sheets to 6 x 6 for pockets and that gives me two complete pockets per sheet.
I cut down the 12x12 to 4 1/4 x 6 to make the envelope pockets and I do 2 complete pockets per page and use the left overs for accent strips, pocket slides, etc on the pages.

The only waste I have is the regular paper from 8 1/2 x 11 to 6 x 9
