Love the beach themed charm with the surfboard, I wouldn't have thought about that. The sewing charm is neat as well. I love the thimble as the topper.

WOW is right, it made national news. I was told by a postal worker there, that many of the upper management people are given jobs after they retire from high ranks in the military. They give orders and commands as if they were still head of a squadron, and don't really know how to interact with their employees, in terms of following more acceptable business models. Another shoot out was directly related to the harsh ways and hostile work place that is a result of misguided supervision, without any attention paid to the rights of the postal workers. The tension is high, when one could be fired for the slightest infraction, without access to due process. For a while, I was seriously considering getting stamps online and having my packages picked up from home, but it made me nervous to leave them on the front porch unsupervised. I didn't want to risk them being stolen, and then being labled a flaker, because sometimes I had to run errands, so I just went and hoped for the best.

Last week, my local bank was held up by gunpoint, and my daughter's cousin (my 27 year old niece) was told to get on the ground this month in San Francisco. How scary would that be. I do try not to dwell on these type of events for the most part, but when it happens to someone you know, it is hard not to think about it.

Hi everyone!

I see that my last post is not here! I put a quick post to let you know that I had mailed my charms when I said I would. I guess it went the way of the dodo like a lot of my emails recently. We have been having crazy weather and the Internet is not working very well. I am still struggling to get an email to my aunt to let her know our itinerary. I can't seem to get the email to go through. We will need a ride from the airport!

ScrappinGwen, Sorry but didn't see your note until after I had mailed the charms.

I have not been well, so I have not been on much. Hard to do too much for the past several weeks. I didn't even feel up to being on the computer! OMG! Did I just say that?! Even worse, zero motivation to craft! What is this world coming to? I was able to get the partner swap done before I ran out of juice. It turned out way nicer than my group swap, I think. I like the other ones, but I don't think I did the best I could have if I felt better!

KauaiMelody - wow! Sounds just a little too scary to be mailing anything right now!

Have a nice day!

KauiMelody...see you need to move back to Illinois...find a nice small town and get you some goats and llamas. I don't miss New Orleans that much because of the high crime. Thankfully I've never been in any of those types of situations that you described above. Please stay safe my friend because I don't know what I'd do without you hear.Blushing Wub

GypsyD...I received your charms on Friday and they are all beautiful...one thing though, I didn't get to see Gwynne's charm because you wrapped it up so tightly.LOL LOL LOL

Ladies, I'm going to try to get these out mid-week, Saturday the latest. I have to take photos and divide them up.

Thank you all again for joining my swap and I really love how each of you interpreted your various movies and books. You all do/did great work.Wub

Ok apparently there is a problem with posting pictures. Error message was No Network Path Found. I got this once before and it let me post later. Sooooooo I will try later.

Jean: the bicycle charm is from a vendor on ali express.. from China.. so it took about 3 weeks to get to me.. the vendors there had different bronze charms than on ebay.. so it was a nice variety.

My favorite embossing folder of the moment is that TH rivets... it's so perfect for Steampunk.. I used aluminum tape from Home Depot, then brushed brown acrylic paint on it, and wiped it off with a paper towel; then let it dry.. pretty easy.. just looks hard to do.. try it out

Thanks for the info on the charmBigGrin

I just did a project using that folder and a diamond plate one along with the HVAC tape. Both are good for steampunk or industrial. I used black and brown Distress paints and did the same thing. Came out pretty neat looking.

Love it on your balloonCool Perfect for Debbie alsoBigGrin

My wonderfully chunky steampunked charm dangle arrived today! It's really super chunky and just great!

The Tag is equally amazing. and I don't have to worry about "no dibs" cuz it has my name on it so you all wouldn't want it anyway! ha ha!

This is going to be great to start up some kind of display of steampunk themed items and include this tag.

Thank you so much Gypsy for a wonderful tag and chunky charm dangle.

Pics to follow soon.

I would like to know what she sprayed on that flower to get it to look brown like that. It's really pretty in real life.

If I lift up the petals....it's actually just plain ole paper with script on it...not sure if scrapbooking paper or out of a book.....but the spray she sprayed on it gives the paper a entirely different look. I would have never known it was a page out of a book type of paper had I not been checking it out so closely and lifted the petals to fluff them up after unwrapping.

I need that spray is all I know!

That is really nice Gwynne, Gypsy did a great job. I like Steampunk the more I see it.

I got the new G45 Steampunk Spells Wednesday and it is just great. Steampunk and Halloween all in one design set what could be better. Love it love it love it!

There was one error on the 12 x 12 pad and that was only one sheet of the first page. Make sure when you get your paper there are two of each design. We did find four pads in this shipment with that error. G45 sent the replacement to the LSS where I got it so everything is fine. Besides making the best paper their Customer Service is also excellent.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Debbie: I received my BEAUTIFUL PUNKED OUT chunky charm on Thursday.. Sorry, been off line, had to clean up the house in a major way, I had some guests stay with me. leaving tomorrow.

Her charm is full of beaded goodness, with the technique of "wire wrapping".. quite hard to do for me, but her coils are tight and even!.. How did you do THAT!!!????

She used the most coveted, hoarded paper of all time: the retired Steampunk Debutante from G45.. how on earth did you part with that.. I cant even cut into it..I am hoarding it like crazy now.. Did you know some etsy shops are asking $60 for an unused 12 x 12 collection pad.. NUTSO..

Pics later.. just a quick hello in between entertaining visitors..

Later all : gail

Ladies these should be postal tomorrow, if I remember to bring them to work!Blink

I'm sorting them and trying to go back to previous lists to make sure everyone gets from someone they've not gotten from before. However, some of you have been in quite a few of my swaps so you may end up with someone that you've already received from. Blushing Sorry this has taken longer, but I've have a few irons in the fire and spent most of the weekend with DH. Since he's back on third shift, the weekend is the only time I get to spend quality time with him. BigGrin

Ibsen, that charm is gorgeous, and ladies it truly is awesome in person. Wait until y'all see the one Gwen made for GypsyD...truly a piece of art.

Denise, sorry I didn't mail your charm separate, but I'm trying to save postal $$. I sure hope you like it.BigGrin

I'm very impressed with all the charms made, group and partner swap. You ladies are truly great artists. I wish I would have made enough for me to keep each one, but alas, I did not.

I've posted the OP a list of who is receiving who's charms. I tried to look back on previous lists of participants to make sure you each received from someone you never received from before. Sorry some of you did get additional charms from your partner as well.Blushing

Thank you everyone for making this round really great. It truly is nice to see everyone's take on these types of swaps.

Let me know your thoughts on another swap or not. I think most of us are probably charmed out.LOL

Thanks Robin for another great swap!!!!! Can't wait to see these.

Just an idea if you do want to host another one this year.

Maybe we could do an ANYTHING GOES chunky charm swap.
That way we would use what we have and not have to buy any particular color beads or special charms.

I am sure I have at least 5 charms of various themes LOL
