You do not have to buy miniatures. You can if you would like or maybe something if you think it adds that extra something special. For the most part I think these things are a great way to use stash and things around the house. Many times you can use as is or alter to fit your theme. WHen I did the spring one, I didn't own anything shabby chic. I took tons of metals, odds and ends, etc. from my stash and highlighted with white and purple paint. I didn't buy one thing special for that one. I found this odd little piece of plastic and it was just trash. I saved it and I am going to paint it to fit my theme....freebie.

I haven't started either but I have some idea of the direction I want to go in. I got some new goodies that I think I will be able to use :)

I got my prize! Holy buckets, Kellie! I was not expecting that package and feel like a kid in a candy store. Thank you!

Have a couple of other swaps to finish but I now have picked up my second box. Didn't really like the first one as it didn't work for what I want to do. The second one is perfect. Now I just need to get my other swaps done so I can start working on this. Went to a couple of antique stores this past weekend thinking I might find something to use on this but didn't have much luck.

Sure was fun looking around though!Drool

Sounds awesome. Haven't thought of looking at antique stores. I have pretty much everything I need. I think I am going to save any additional shopping until the end to see if I need a key piece or two to add.

I just found out last night that DH will be out of town on business for a couple nights mid June...which is when I really planned on concentrating on this swap anyway...so perfect timing for me! I can craft the evening away with no dinner making, etc. two nights in a row which is a good thing as my weekends are pretty busy all thru June.

The paper I was waiting on came yesterday; it wasn't quite what I'd hoped it would be but I think I can make it work. If not i came up with a back up plan.

Have I whined lately about having to clear my cookies so often to log into this site ... very annoying ... I stay logged in to things, and every time I have to clear cookies I have to log in to other sites that don't log me out every hour ... Mad

What do I like best about crafting ... I have always done some sort of crafting ... I like trying / learning new things ... I really like to see a project evolve ... I like praise LOL

jci -- I have looked at a lot of config boxes and there are a lot of great ideas and although I have been working on mine, I was able to make a few corrections and have been real happy with the results. I love reading what everyone has posted too. You all are so talented.

Love playing with all the materials and embellies from my stash. It makes me focus on one thing only , the current project, as I tend to multi-task, but need to pay attention to what I am doing, or I might burn myself , glue my creations to the table, or spray the glimmermist up my nose accidently.LOL LOL LOL

I like the process. Being creative. Using my imagination and trying to do something unique even if I am the one that loves it :)

You know what's funny? That's one reason I love my husband. When we went on our first date, he asked me to bring the recipe swap I had told him about. (He earned several points just for that.) He looked at all of them carefully and he took the time to admire my recipe page, my attempt at creativity. I thought: Well, he's a keeper!
