Hi Everyone !

I know that this is not a NEW concept...but, for many months I did not know what a "Toilet Paper Roll Album" was... So maybe there are some others on the MB who have never made one. This will actually be MY FIRST ONE EVER !! I have watched a few tutorials on You tube and here is a link to some of them :
http://www.youtube.com/w...;list=PLD1D960DA9C859CEE

They can be so very cute and useful !! They have little "pockets" in them to store pictures, tickets, note cards and trinkets ...

I will leave the choices of the Album theme up to your partner and you to decide what you would like to have....(could be for a baby, travel, weddings, school years etc....)

I think we need about 8 tp tubes to make a proper album. You can do more if you wish !

The date you must complete and MAIL your creation is by June 1st...So, there is lots of time. THe sooner we get everyone signed up, the sooner I can assign partners and we can start !!

Please send me your contact info if you have never been in any of my swaps before, or if you have recently moved. I need your name, mailing address, email and phone#

NO FLAKERS PLEASE !!!! Flaking is soooooooooo uncool and infantile !!!

Who would like to join ??

So, is the idea to iron them flat, decorate them, and bind them into a book?

I really shouldn't do this, as my swaps are mounting up, but I am a firm believer in re-purposing toilet paper rolls,so they don't overtake our landfills, because then, where would all the Pampers go, so I feel it is my civic duty to participate in this eco- friendly swap.

OhMyGod I just KNEW that I could tempt you with this one KM !! Razz

I was just wondering if this means that we all have to start using too much TP and get our plumbing clogged up so we can collect enough cardboard rollers ? Scared Oh well - I guess you can also use the rolls from paper towels and cut them in half ! ThumpUp

I am also hooked on "recycle, reuse, and repurpose"... Wub

Here is another adorable video with a TP roll album for a baby - made with GRAPHIC 45's "Little Darlins" papers -

I haven't decided yet Barbara. Once I get my partners for the other two swaps and have some idea of what to make, then I can decide. When are you closing the swap?

The first time I heard about using toilet paper rolls to make a mini sounded weird but when you see the before and after pictures it's pretty cool. If I could find my pictures of the albums I made I will post some pictures on here (: please sign me up please.

I think I want to join this one. I need to look at more how to videos first though. I would be worried about how to hold it together. I also wonder what material was used for the edge cuts. Paper seems like it would be destroyed too easily, doesn't it? I had a major fail trying to make a mini for the other swap I'm in and had to make something else. SO... I'm kind of hesitant. I'll finish my current swap this week and then let you know.

Thanks,
LA

Hi AGain !

Amy , I plan to close when we get 10 members . The sooner we get 10 members the better as it gives us more time to craft ! I am hoping by Sunday night to be able to assign partners Love

Laura - Yes it is important to use good papers like Graphic 45 ...something that will not fall apart. As far as holding it together...you can use a wire binder if you have one, or buy the big "key rings" and punch holes that you reinforce with eyelets or vinyl and feed them through...I like to wrap mine with lots of ribbons to make them pretty. I recently bought a Cinch and have never used it yet, so I may give it a try.

JCI: Ok -- I have been begging for TP rolls and now I am desperate. Asked hubby to tell everyone at work to not throw them away. He looked at me as though I were nuts. I said it's either that or I start tearing apart the TP we have. Ok, ok, -- I'll tell them but it's a good thing I've got email and the boss he said. I just smiled. Aren't our special ones terrific? No more worries for me.

Welcome to everyone - glad to see some gettting over the fears Scared of doing something new...Keep in mind that I HAVE NEVER MADE ONE BEFORE!! Scared I hope I can pull this off - so don't feel badly if you are worried about doing a good job !

HodMom you are our newest member !! Super !! Woot

KM - I am an ardent fan of Cottonelle !! Charmin shreds too much, even though their "bear" commercials claim that it doesnt - I hate the stuff ! ThumbDown I shall, however, not turn down a Charmin cardboard tube if I am offered one !! Woot

I think we need about 8 tubes to make a good album - You can do more if you are very adventurous ! Wink and the beauty of it is that you can make them 1 at a time if you don't have access to a whole bunch of them at once !! LOL Maybe it is a good thing to encourage us to drink more water everyday so we have to go to the powder room a little more often !! LOL

Brklynborn - Have you seen the new "Brooklyn" cricut cartridge ? I am selling them at a cheaper price than Circut.com in my Etsy shop ~ just had to get in an advertisment !

In fact, I have reduced prices on all the Cricut carts I have in stock, there is a listing under the "Product Reviews & Deals" heading for my sale starting at $18. each for carts.

Also, you can get to my Etsy shop easily through my Blog.

Denise - glad to have you aboard !! Woo Hoo - we only need ONE MORE MEMBER and I will close this so that we can get partnered up Woot ThumpUp

Aden's Nana - Will you be "THE ONE WE NEED" ??? Hope so !!

I didn't know that you could buy tubeless toilet paper...how odd that must be !! Razz

Maybe I should start selling tubes in my Etsy shop ? LOL Razz

OK. I had to go look....they are called "craft rolls." They come in a lot of 24. And I like the idea, so guess who has some on the way. Thanks for sharing this info!
