It is easy to just buy a bunch rather than wait until you have empty ones. And some swappers don't like the idea of crafting with toilet paper tubes that have been in their bathroom and/or getting some that have spent time in someone else's bathroom. Paper towel tubes are a good option. In a house with kids, we are never lacking in empty tubes of some sort to use for crafting! Wrapping paper tubes, however, are reserved for mock sword fights!

Evelyn, do you have a MQ? I saw one for Evelyn Robinson1, but not 2. If so do you happen to know what page it's on? Thanks!

Amy - EvelynR#1 and #2 are the same person .... she is just doing 2 sets of bags and tags.BigGrin

I do understand about the TP rolls being an issue for some...keep in mind that you can also make your own with a piece of lightweight cardboard. I have found that gift wrapping tubes work well, and of course paper towel tubes cut down. If you purchase some types of stationery or cards, there is often a piece of lightweight cardboard in the back of the package and it works well also. If you use tubes from your bathroom you could always spray them with a little Lysol disinfectant spray and let them dry before gluing paper to them.

Have fun with this and please try to check in the thread at least once a week Love

I just bought some craft rolls from Oriental Trading. It was truly cheaper to do that than buy the 24 roll of toilet paper that we normally buy, well with the rolls in them.

HI KM!
I'm excited and nervous to have you as my partner. Your creations are amazing!
Do you have any preferences for a theme? I'm going to read your MQ now, so I can get an idea of what you like.

I'm not picky and like almost everything.

If you do want ideas here are a couple:

Something in purples and an inspirational(not necessarily religious) strong woman/survivor theme for my sister who has very recently beat breast cancer.BigGrin

or for a friend MOD bright bold graphics

or your choice.
I know I'll love anything you make for me!
Thanks,
LA

Barbara-You want 8 tubes used for a total of 16 pages then, right?
I better get "going" thenLOL

Yes, I think 8 tubes will be good. I figured that the first 2 are really more like "covers" than anything...If you all think that is too many pages, just tell me. Remember, I have never made one before ! Flapper LOL

I pulled out 3 cardboard tubes from my Christmas wrapping paper stash today and I can get 4-5 tubes from each one...(some are longer than others) So - check your wrapping paper rolls !

I've been looking at youtube and most of these have 4 to 5 pages, would that be acceptable?
I honestly might have some stress doing 8 pages.

Great minds think alike....I was thinking 4 myself. That's 8 sides and 4 tags....plenty for a mini I think.

I understand about the two spots. But Evelyn's user name is EvelynRobinson2, and there is an EvelynRobinson1 on the MQ thread, and she has a different sign up date than ER2. So I am assuming there are two Evelyn Robinsons. If that is not the case, Evelyn, I will look at the ER1 MQ that I found. It did occur to me that you could have signed at up 2 different times, so I'm not sure. Evelyn Robinson is not as common a name as, say, Amy Smith after all LOL!

AMy , try to send Evelyn a PM...maybe she will answer quicker. I now see why you are unsure...I did not know about the 2 different MQs....if they answers are a lot different then it must be 2 different people.

Okay - on the number of pages you all..
NEW RULE : 4 tubes for a minimum, but you can do more if you wish. Love

Here is a link: http://www.youtube.com/w...mp;feature=results_main and you can see a list of several others on the sidebar. Hopefully you can find what you need from there.

So sorry to hear about your son's injury. Knee problems are no fun.
