Yes the travel album is so colorful and cute ! I am also making a travel album but it will be a lot different in design...Plus I am making an album now for DancingStarr which may be a day or so late in mailing, but we have discussed it.

Now that I have started these I am finding that I want one for every occasion !! Birthdays, Weddings, New Baby, School Teachers, Musical themes, Movie themes, Christmas, Summer Vaca - you name it ! I have awakened a monster !!OhMyGod Woot Wub

Thanks for posting the photographs Barb. Now I can add them to my Flickr. I love mini-albums. This one was fun to make! I think I will order the rolls from Oriental trading. My DH thought I was crazy for saving the paper towel rolls!

Hey Ladies ! Just so you know - the mail DOES move during the holidays. It just doesnt get delivered to your house.....I do my postage online or have stamps at home and I drop off my pkgs. on Sundays and holidays. It speeds up the process a lot !

Looking forward to seeing all these cutie pie albums !! Save all those TP rolls for another Round soon !

Love

Can I interrupt to ask what kind of adhesive you ladies used? I made one for my mom last month and had a terrible time getting papers to stick to the TP rolls. I also used Basic Grey magnets to keep some flaps shut & it seems the magnets are stronger than the adhesives - they keep pulling the adhesive apart! Huh Any tips would be hugely appreciated - I'm in the middle of a slightly bigger mini album (made with chipboard) for my sister, but I was thinking of using TP rolls for pockets and I don't want to run into the same problems again.

I agree that it is really hard to get the adhesive to stick to the rolls. I use a variety of adhesives on these type of projects: ATG, Score tape, Terrifically Tacky Tape, and wet adhesives. I have found that I need to go very slowly when applying the ATG tape. Most importantly: I always clamp my projects with binder clips to really set the tape/adhesive. I am not sure if it will work for the magnets, but I use Glossy Accents to apply my metal embellishments. Good luck!

Here's a tip about magnets:

Hide the magnets under a layer of paper. The magnetism still works.

I either cut out a circle or scalloped circle or appropriate shape for my design or a border strip, etc. and make sure it's larger then the magnet square so that you can adhere it well around the magnet.

That layer of paper "weighing" down the magnet keeps it from lifting up off of the adhesive, like you are dealing with

So! I had a harder time getting going on this than I thought I would. I had my paper picked out, my rolls all saved but couldn't seem to come up with any good ideas. Finally this morning around 10 I got started and now it is all done! I will take pix tomorrow and get it in the mail.

Thank you! It was fun to make. I have been helping my youngest DD make mini squash albums (the ones that open up big, but squash down into a small square) for our next outdoor market. We only have to add the front cover embellishments and we will have 12 finished. She wants to paint rocks tomorrow! She is LOVING summer vacation already!

As far as glue goes, I used Scotch 3m Quick Dry Adhesive that I apply with a 1" sponge brush to spread it out evenly. That way you eliminate the bumpy lines from just "swirling" it on from the bottle. Sometimes on a large item I use a roller sponge to spread it.
I also use Scotch ATM dry adhesives and Scotch foam tapes. I love their products and find them always reliable and inexpensive when bought with a 50% off Michaels or JoAnns coupon.!

I am having some picture posting problems all of a sudden and do not know why....never had a problem before. I get some kind of popup window that says " Network path not found" I have not idea what that means ! Flapper Blushing

I use IE - I think it is the message board that is having issues. Some days I can see the photographs without problems, other days I cannot see the photographs in the post, but can see them if I click on the square, and other days I cannot even see them if I click on it. Confused
