good morning and Happy Tuesday. Frost warnings here this morning. Confused But will be toasty warm this weekend. Hopefully we can get the raised beds fixed and ready for planting.

Deb, I would like to be able to do more work ourselves around the house, but we just aren't very good in that department. And Jim doesn't really have the interest. I had to push him when we did the wood floors in the basement. It turned out good, but there are a few areas on the edges that aren't perfect. I am not sure how we can fix them at this point. Anyway... I think you and your friend are doing a great job. My kitchen cupboards are beyond a cosmetic cleaning I think. I would paint them if that would work, but there are is a broken drawer that I am not sure how we can fix. The counter tops need replacing also.
ok, enough of my remodel/fix up woes.

Worked last night on a few cuts for some scrapbook pages. Trying to get a few page kits together.
Shipped out 2 boxes yesterday to my units. The ship is due home the end of August, so maybe one more box to them. The ground unit is about the same, so I am thinking I will need to find another unit.

Renate, I sure hope for the new parent's sake, the baby gets her sleep pattern turned around.
Phyllis, glad all the pooches are doing good. You are correct on exercise equipment taking up room. IF (and it is a BIG if), I were to get the eliptical, I would get rid of the bike. Jim thinks I should join a gym for a month and see how I do on one before investing. Too much $$ to buy one on a whim.
I guess I better get busy here and make a productive plan for the day. Hello to everyone I missed.

UPDATE: I hope you heard my sigh of relief!
Today I went to the office of the Retinal specialist I have an appointment with and tried to get my appointment for an earlier date. I have been beside myself worrying about this thing in my eye. Turns out that 7% of the population have freckles in their eye(s). I don't know why my Optometrist didn't tell me that, but at least I feel 99% better than I did about his diagnosis.
I just wanted to let you know.

Also, I got a couple of the gatefold dies from Heartfelt Creations and wanted to post them. These are not for the crafter with OCD. I about went crazy trying to get a good card from the die on the purple card.

Hugz,
Gramma

PS: been raining last three days, except yesterday, it snowed then. Tomorrow temps in 60's.

Gramma attached the following image(s):

Good evening,
Jess, sorry about your short night. What's keeping you awake? Surely can't be lack of work. I hope tonight will give you more rest. It's MOW night if that helps!!
Gramma, the cards are beautiful! So happy about your eye-news. Your dr really should have told you, sometimes they just don't think about us non-medical people.
Deb, you are doing great with the remodeling - glad you are saving a bundle. DH and I are like Pat and Jim, not good with this stuff. Glad you got to see DS.
Pat, you're probably getting our warm sunshine. It was in the low 80s today. Felt good after the frosty morning yesterday. Baby Jossalyn will get her days and nights straight eventually. Jim is back to work and mom takes mini naps when the baby sleeps.--I have my cards box almost ready too, need a few things to fill it up and write my note.--I looked up the e.trainer you are talking about, they are pretty big. Personally I would rather use them in the gym than fill up my space at home, but that's me.
Phyllis, what have you been up to today?
Hello to all...Renate

Hello everyone. Not much happening around here, same ole same ole. I have been working on my new listings for my store, need to get a few others before I go live with them. I struggle with pricing, I check similar items and some people are charging so much I just can't put that kind of price on my stuff. DH has been working in the yard all day. Tomorrow I plan on getting some flowers to plant and a replacement tree that we lost last year, just a small evergreen type one but need something in that empty space.

Renate, yes I need to make a visit to Panera Bread, yum yum. We had a beautiful day today and another one expected tomorrow, in fact a little warm/hot. I almost did not recognize your new name.

Deb, are you still whooped? How did your shopping go?

Jess, oh my, 3 hours sleep just won't get it. Hope you're in bed early tonight.

Pat, I agree with Jim, maybe a trip to the gym and see if you will like the eliptical or not. I have a box of cards packed up, need to get them in the mail soon. I worked on some cards last night, I have about 30 of my 50 done.

Gramma, so glad your eye diagnosis was good. I didn't know about the freckles, do they have to remove them? Your gatefold cards are gorgeous. Did the purple die just not cut well?

Guess I'll check out for the night.

Hi! Hooray for MOW! I'm hoping for an eight hour work day and then three quick errands. Hmmm, wasn't thinking it was three until I typed it but it is. Guess I won't be home as early as I thought.Mellow I need sleep!!
Gramma~Those cards are awesome!!
I hope to catch up today. I think I'll not cook dinner tonight. Dinner tonight or maybe I'll pick up a pizza. Finished up stamp camp prepping on Monday and got revised numbers yesterday. Mad
Time to get ready for work. Have a nice day.

Happy MOW to you all....yes I am 'still whooped'....got the closet/ceiling painted yesterday, still walking every morning (Mon-Fri)....yesterday we got the vinyl and supplies, laminate had to be ordered but the floors are ready. Friend at appt so we won't have a full day of work...hubby just called, compressor in the motor home motor air is shot....about $800 new so they are looking for a used one...always something. But I have about everything purchased for the apt, we need to pick up baseboard/molding...we will stain that ourselves...what is in there is cheap crap, and if I have to spend a couple hundred more, so be it. We hope to get the trim done in the closet, I can paint the shelves any time...got some flowers potted in new dirt, put out 3 gallons weed killer and now I am going to take a short break. Friend should be here any minute and she is ready and raring for work....this is her joy, to remodel....

Going to say a quick hello to all, love the cards Gramma, glad you talked and got info on the eye, hope you all have a great day, hope to be back later this evening...

Hello!

Deb~That apartment sure has been keeping you busy. It sounds like it'll lookk so nice! It's great that your friend is helping. I am lucky that Brad is so handy with home improvement stuff...although sometimes getting him to actually do something is a battle!! Hope H is doing okay. Sorry about your church friend.

Pat~Sounds like you're on track with the exercise routing. Good job. Oh how I would love a quiet weekend! I get what Jim is saying about trying out a machine first, but isn't it part of the battle to actually leave the house and go somewhere to exercise? All that extra time. See, I always have an excuse!!

Gramma~Sorry for another scare from the doctor. So glad you went to the specialist and got some better news.

Renate~You were spoiled for Mother's Day!! Shopping for baby girls is addicting. I find tons at Kohls! We had frost a few nights too. Crazy weather. At home they even had a little snow!

Phyllis~Yikes on the buttons! It's weird how some dogs chew on anything. Oh no to the Cody scare. Thank goodness he is okay. LOL at DH and shooting down your ideas! I can totally understand how pricing for your store is hard.

I'm ready to drop I'm so tired. Crappy day at work. Some people have are clueless and I have no patience. And it was a loud day. Too much chatter around me. Fighting a horrible headache all day. Think I'm going to pop some meds and go to bed. First I'm going to take a picture of the invite so I have it for emailing. I do have everyone's email address now.
Have a good evening.

Jess

Good evening, my name is back to normal. Thanx for noticing it Phyllis, I have no clue how it got changed. I understand your pricing dilemma. Are there rules for that? Glad your yard work is not one of your worries.
Jess, hope you will sleep better tonight, is your headache gone? It's tough having to be sweet and smile when you are tired and don't feel well. Did pizza become your dinner?--Yes Kohls is a great place for baby clothes. Although mostly pink stuff for girls and it's not a favorite color for mom.--Snow in May? No thank you.
Deb, happy the apt is almost done and having a friend who loves to help. Yikes about the m/h compressor, hope you'll find a good used one. You're right, always something.
I planted the 2 perennials today and did a little weeding. Grass needs cutting again but my back is still not up to par, it should be ok by Friday. Working outside does not leave a lot of play time inside. I want to work on a few cards before turning in. Hello to all and good night. Renate

Another day and I'm behind before I even get out of bed. Renate, I hope your back is feeling better. Glad you were able to get a few things done outside but don't push yourself. I thought your name change was on purpose! I did not sleep better but my headache isn't as bad as it was.
Have a good day!

Good morning, looks like rain today. DGS has a spring football game tonight at 7, sure hope the rain holds off. Scary storms in TX....walked 4 miles this morning, left my friend still walking...have been to Lowe's for molding this morning..need to go back for stain....hubby and I have hair cuts at 11, need some groceries too.....I got a coat of Kilz on the bath and kitchen floor late yesterday, we had to take the vinyl up since it was just laying down, the glue had let go.....a work in progress....she and her hubby are putting up the new light/ceiling fans while we are busy this morning...hope tomorrow after 11 I will be free to stay home and work....be back later.

good morning.. going to be warm today, but not unpleasant. I am going to try to get into the yard and pull some weeds, but I am thinking the gnats will be in my face.
I am not going to be able to catch up, but before I forget, Gramma, the cards are beautiful. I can imagine they would send some crafters off the deep end. I crop with a friend who is like that. But I love her as a table partner anyway. OH and great report re the eye. Much relief I am sure.
Deb, you are really moving along with the apartment. Even considering the setbacks you have had.
Renate, watch that back (as I know you are/will. Jim is cutting the lawn once a week now. Our neighbor planted a bunch of annuals in her front yard this week. It really looks nice and colorful. I have mostly perennials in my front, along with spring bulbs, so it has phases where it isn't so pretty. I would love to have the front island redone, but not happening anytime soon, since it would require some plant removal and replacements.
Jess, If I have to go somewhere to exercise, I won't do it. I am going to wait on buying anything until the CA trip is over. Which will be happening by the end of the month. I have to get my ducks in a row on that one. Hoping to have dates nailed and reservations made by this weekend. The pressure is on.
Well, I need to get moving here and put sheets in the washer. I think we have chances of rain this weekend, so I am not going to be able to do any slacking if/when I can get out to the yard. At least the cold temps seem to have left the scene here.
Have a great day and I will make an effort to check back this evening.

Happy Friday!

Deb~Hope you were able to enjoy the football game. Sounds like you're really making progress on the apartment. Good job!

Pat~Ugh to gnat season. I haven't bought any flowers yet this year. Maybe soon.

Have a great day.

Joanne, so good to see you here. Totally understand the break thing. Also understand the weeds. I worked on the pond area today and the flower bed that is along that fence. Gnats were all in my face, so I had to quit. It was lunch time anyway. I did put insect repellent on, so no bites. Hopefully between Jim & I we can finish up that bed this weekend. Scattered showers both days, so it will be iffy.
I heard Jim pull in the driveway, so I am going to go for now and see if we can go grab a quick dinner and then try to get some annuals for the front island. I am not liking how it looks right now.
Catch you all later.

Well I had a nice long post and left the room.....it was gone when I came back, oh well....Will try to catch up a little.
Joanne totally understand the break, we all need them....glad you are back....
Pat did you get all your outside chores finished today?
Jess you outdid yourself....the invites are fantastic.....
Phyllis how is the pooch today?
Renate hope you can get your yard work done...
Gramma how are you today?
I have worked until I am about ready to crash....plus hit my arm in the basement and now I have a HUGE hematoma on the outter side of my left arm......and it hurts...think Gracie will go to bed early tonight and I can have a little 'me' time....
DGS's football team was not doing so good last night, first half was over an hour, getting beat 21-0 so we left at 8 when it was halftime...
Will have a bit of a break from walking/work for a few hours in the morning...gym is closed on the weekend and friend has some errands in the morning...going to take full advantage of sleeping in....
Have a great night....

Good Friday evening,
I just got caught up reading all the posts.
Jess, the invites are gorgeous.--Hope you are catching up on sleep and have a relaxing weekend, minus the headache. My back is better. Cut the front and sides yard yesterday, didn't want to push it, and planned to cut the back today. But this afternoon we got a 'scattered' downpour and it nixed the plan.
Deb, sorry about DGS's game. Looks like the apt will be done soon. Glad you will have a chance to sleep in.
Pat, sorry about the gnats in your face..hope you get your garden to look like you envision. I like those 'islands'. You'll be busy the next few days making the arrangements for your trip. How is your mom doing? I try to take care of my back, had some trouble a few years ago and don't want to go there again.
Joanne, welcome back! Good luck with those weeds...
Since I could not cut the grass this afternoon I did some more laundry and started cleaning house. No special plans for the weekend, I do hope to get some quality play time in. I'm in the middle of the cards for the current challenge and should make good progress.
Phyllis and Gramma, anything going on at your house?
Good evening to all. Renate

Hi Renate! Nice to see you! Hope you showed those weeds who the boss is!

Pat~Yippee for no bites! Where did you go for dinner?

Deb~Yikes on the arm. You're going to feel that one for a while. Did you work in your room during your "me" time? Sleep well.

Renate~Glad your back is better. I guess cutting the backyard wasn't meant to be! Always plenty of more projects to keep you busy. Keep up the good work on the CFS cards. If I can get my June stamp camp cards designed this weekend I should be able to get some CFS cards done.

We have a wedding for a nephew on Brad's side of the family tomorrow so I'm skipping stamp camp. Other demo totally screwed up our numbers so I'll have extras to put together. I usually do extras anyway to have for my sale buckets and personal use. It rained here most of the day today. I did get the anniversary card order done (pulled a couple cards out of my stash that worked). Thanks again for the compliments on the invitation. I had lots of ideas and probably would have made a ton of more work for myself had it been for me but the kids wanted it more simple and it is supposed to be about them!!Wink
Going to get ready for bed and maybe try to get a card done before then. We'll see. Sweet dreams!

Happy Saturday, we have had some very loud storms rolling in.....about to hit again.....may need to unplug for a second time today.....heavy rain pounding the roof again......our grass will be a foot tall by the time it dries out for cutting.....
The arm hurt like heck last night too....this morning the knot is a bit smaller but very tender to touch.
Jess have fun at the wedding, boo on the SU demo mess up....I got my set yesterday....my friend was hostess and I ordered the A Round Array/punch.....hope to use it SOON....
Renate any new baby pics?
Don't think we will get work done today, way to wet to set up for cutting floor. I can get the closet shelves in, need to vacuum the floor and be ready for the molding to go down. At least one room can be marked off the list. It is going to take a few weeks longer to complete.....
Good morning to all that drop by, I have some things I need to take care of in the house today, plus we have lunch at #1DS/DIL for DGD's graduation tomorrow, we have to slip out of church a few mins early...chicken thawing for stir fry tonight, maybe an apple cobbler/dessert of some sort....today needs to be a 'day of rest'.....later....

Good evening,
Deb, that tree looks huge. So glad it did not hit the house, but still awful. Now this was at your sis' neighbor's house? Terrible about the flooding too. Hope the rains have stopped and the water can retreat. Sorry about the arm too. Maybe it's telling you to take it easy for a few days. You are probably ready for a few boring days..I got 2 more pictures. They are bringing a ton of them when they come here, too hard to send by phone or email.
Jess, I understand about the creative mind at work but like you said it was about the bride and groom. Sorry about the messed up stamp camp. How was the wedding? Rain seems to be in abundance everywhere this year. By the time I get to cut the the grass in the backyard the front and sides will need it again too.
Pat, did the rain stop so you could get something done outside?
I spent a good part of today in my OMG room, sorting papers for filing or scanning, re-arranging things and working on the cards. A lot of my cards will for the 4th of July. I have some patriotic paper to use up but am not making much of a dent!
Good night everyone. Renate

Good morning, a dreary looking Sunday so far.....hope the rain is gone for a while....got lots of video and pics of flooded area behind our house....

Renate the tree that fell was where my brother lives (mom's house/where I grew up).....just had my sister at the base for the 'size' of the tree....tree service got it off the drive way and will return Monday to complete the job....hope you can work thru those papers, I have tons of stuff and I sure need to get busy making cards again.....arm is better, but it will be sore for a while yet....

I hope everyone has a great day, we are off to church, home for the dog and bread, then to lunch to celebrate with the family...sure hope I can get some good pictures today.....

Hello everyone. I've been feeling bad the last few days, not sure if its allergies or what. My ears have been stopped up and very scratchy sore throat and just a dragging feeling. Don't know if I'll be able to go to the wedding this weekend or not. Orders are picking up too and have to go sick or not.

Pat, are the gnats so bad due to the pond/water? I haven't noticed them like that here but they can be very pesky.

Renate, take care of your back, back problems are bad. Quite a bit of rain here too but nothing like what Deb is having.

Jess, yes the invitations are very pretty. How was nephew's wedding.

Joanne, glad to see you're back, I totally understand the break.

Deb, that was one heck of a storm. Glad the house was not damaged as that size tree could have done some serious damage.

Hello Gramma.

Wow Deb that was some big tree! I'm glad it didn't land on the house. Amazing about all the rain you all have had, we haven't had much at all. Fortunately we have a reclaimed watering system. The weeds are happy. Got rid of a bunch of them. Not to worry though they will be back.... We pulled out the hibiscus along the edge of the pool. They were getting too leggy and were hard to trim because they were so close to the pool enclosure. I like how I can see the canal now so I am not sure if we will put anything else in... Greg was working on the boat lift to get it ready for our new boat. He dropped a number of tools into the water so he had to get on his scuba gear and go diving for them!!! I played dive master to make sure he didn't come up under the dock and whack his head.
Speaking of the canal we had a dolphin in the other morning. I just love them!

good Monday morning. I am so behind, I am almost caught up with myself. The weather, while nothing like what Deb and the mid section had, was working against us both days. Jim is hoping he can get the lawn mowed one day this week.
Phyllis, yea!! on the orders coming in and no, the pond has nothing to do with the gnats. It wouldn't be so bad if I weren't allergic to their bites.
Saturday we did pick up a few tomato, pepper and other veggie plants. Jim was able to get 2 of the raised planters ready to plant in. We have volunteer pumpkins coming up in one, so I guess we might have a pumpkin or two this year. The squirrels usually get to them though.

Deb, that was one big tree. Not sure if anyone is fb friends with Jackie Lily, but she also had some damage near her house in OK.
Joanne, how fun to have a dolphin in your canal. The girls loved seeing them when we would go to the beach. Chuckled at Greg scuba diving for dropped tools. Have you spent any time in paradise lately?
Renate, I need to work on sorting/organizing in my room. I also have 3 piles of papers in the office room that need to be sorted and put away. Some can even probably be just thrown away or shredded. It is just a matter of taking a day or so to do it.
Jess, I am going to share the invites with dd and if she is interested in going that route I will get more info from you.

Going to say hello to Gramma and everyone else I missed, and get busy. Maybe a short walk and then a bike ride later. Have a great day everyone.

Greetings Castlemates... sorry to be MIA and thanks to all for concern of my eye health and appreciation of the gatefold cards.
Phyllis: the freckles aren't removed unless they turn into ocular melanoma. Then it is treated as cancer would be anywhere else in the body. The dies used on the purple card gate are opposing angles with no particular point of reference with the die for the inside middle of the card. I haven't found a "good" tutorial, but there are tutorials online.
Renate: we've had an extremely busy weekend. Friday morning DSIL(my brother's wife) called me from the ER of a nearby hospital to tell me they were taking DB to Erie by ambulance for heart related issues. He started a stress test and they would not let him go past the initial xray portion of the test. so he was in Erie all weekend and we were too, off and on. He had a heart cath this morning and all was relatively normal with his heart and they sent him home.
I am trying to finish a teacher's gift for my oldest DGD's teacher. I've spent hours searching this area for 5/8" green grosgrain with white dots ribbon. I finally settled for green with blue dots.
The weather here has been great for the past 4 or five days. Sunny and warm during the day, but cooling off significantly in the evening.
I've got to finish my browsing so I can finish that project. I have 4 more in the wings waiting.

Hugz,
Gramma

Hello!

Deb~Sorry to hear about the nasty storms. Holy tree. I hope your arm is feeling better.

Renate~Hooray for more pictures! It's really hard being far away, isn't it? How is that scanning pile looking?!!

Phyllis~Sure hope you're feeling better. Is a doctor visit in your future? Yippee for more orders but sorry they're coming in at a bad time.

Joanne~A new boat! How fun! I'm sure you'll get many hours of play time on it. Very cool to see the dolphin!

Pat~Hope you were able to get a grip on things today. That was a big tree that Jackie posted. I have a plastic bag of shredding that needs to be done. I'm more than a little tempted to bring it up north and burn it.

Gramma~How scary about DB. Glad he's home now, sure hope he'll be okay.

The wedding and reception were nice. One cool idea...During dinner, if you wanted the bride and groom to kiss, you had to put a monetary donation in a decorated box in front of them at the head table. All donations went to a local animal shelter. I love good causes like that!
Did a boat load of laundry yesterday and spent a few hours in my room. Trying to get some lists together for this weekend and trying to get anything out of Brad is next to impossible. No feedback. He'll wait until the last minute and start rattling off things he wants and it'll make me angry!! Do I need to tell any of you how much I'm looking forward to a long weekend??
Have a nice night!

Jess

Hello everyone,
Phyllis, hoping you feel better. Glad your store is doing well. Are you ready for making your new stuff soon?
Joanne, congrats on the new boat. Love dolphins too. The only ones we get to see are in the zoo...We did go on a dolphin boat tour once while visiting my cousin in FL, years ago.
Pat, I had some gnats flying around me the other day and thought of you. They are so pesky. Hope your lawn will get cut. As much as I love homegrown veggies I am not getting any this year. Mine never do that well and I just don't want to add more work to my days. Yep, that's how I feel about the stacks of paper too. They take so much time.
Deb, is the tree getting cleared away? I don't even want to think of how much worse it could have turned out.--Is your arm any better today?
Jess, I don't feel like I had a weekend LOL. Got the grass in the backyard cut and went over the front and sides again, it had already started to grow back. Glad you are going to have a long weekend too. Collecting donations at the wedding for the animal shelter was a great idea. Yes, it is hard not seeing the young family but every few months. I can't wait to hold little Jossalyn and spoil Alexander.--My scanning stack keeps growing, but coming closer to the end keeps me motivated.
Gramma, what a scare you had with DB, glad he is better. Enjoy the great weather, you earned it after the long winter. Did you get all your little projects done?
The tornadoes in OK did so much destruction, but the worst is the loss of life. The storms are heading this way, hope they will calm down.--I went for an oil change and maintenance work after work. I was gone more than 12 hours since I left this morning. We had left over roast and sides for dinner. I'm beat and will turn in soon. Too late to play. Good evening and good night, Renate.
