I am trying to cut out a Mickey Mouse with my Mickey and Friends cartridge. Mickey 1 to be exact. When I get to his face my Cricut will not cut it out. It either tears it our doesn't cut through the paper. I am using a thin cardstock and have even changed my new blade to a newer blade. I have tried every setting I can think of, including using Multi Cut. It cut Mickey and the shorts out fine. The shoes it cut out pretty good, but the face it will not cooperate. I am cutting it at 6" so it isn't too small for the detail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have used over 1/2 sheet of 12x12 paper trying to get this! So frustrated.

You say you're using a thinner cardstock for the face. Use a thicker cardstock for the face and it'll probably cut better for you.

This was the only cart I paid full price for, the ONE I had to have... and the one I use the least because of the cuts tearing so much. I LOVE Mickey, and have been able to do a few images but it is so frustrating. Just remember, the larger the image the better the cuts. The tiny cuts just won't come out nice and clean.

Good Luck !

I just cut out Mickey at only 2 inches. Cut perfectly. I used regular cardstock and not thin. Maybe your mat is too sticky. Did you put your hands all over the mat to make it not so sticky? Sometimes you have to do that. I cut out most of the mickey images today for my daughter in law. Two inches is pretty small and it cut well. Try using better cardstock and (I know it sounds funny) but putting your hands all over your mat. I mostly use recollections cardstock. Not real expensive. I get it from Michaels. Other people said they have luck with the Walmart brand but have trouble with Hobby Lobby brand. So try that and see if it works.

I have made quite a lot of these and faced the same problem. I love recollections brand at Micheals.
The only real problem i have with there paper is they don't make a nice skin tone color. I have wrote them numerous times trying to get them to add one to there paper line. Joanns has some but its a plain texture that seems to work good. Bazzial also makes a nice card stock that works good. Joanns textured paper does not cut well for me. I have tried numerous matts, cutting blades, speeds and depths with same results. So i think it has to be the paper. If anyone else has had better luck i would sure like to know. I have been meaning to try on my explore just not gotten to it yet.
