My youngest turns 2 next Sunday, do I've been busy making all the decorations and favor boxes. My Cricut has been chirping non-stop this weekend!

When I was shopping the craft stores on Saturday, I kept wishing I could remember what my 3 directives were so I could look for any useful ideas. But I couldn't remember all 3 of them, just the color combo! lol

Guess I need to add that info to my Michael's app on my new phone! I need to educate myself better on learning all this new techie stuff! lol

My cards may turn out a little dark-humorously hopefully??? I'm looking to do one of two things,
one being very dark, the other I think is funny. We'll see....

Thanks for the stamping advice Gwynne and Candyhazzard. I'll take any and all!

My next question is digital stamps....
How do they work for you?
I have an older printer, will it work well?....Can you re-size?
As you can see stamping is not in my comfort zone...

Love the new Picture of you and MR Tim Jean!
Have fun with the Bday decorations Alicia!

I think that will be fine. If you are talking like gears and stuff, you can't always get them the same. Same concept is fine.

Gwynne while you were at the store you could have logged into Cricut.com and looked up the info for your ATC's. When I'm in the store I always have my cart pulled over to the side and am online looking up something. Best time to price compare.

But remember don't text or do look ups while driving. I have seen some pretty close calls while people were driving their carts and looking online for info. LOL

I LOVE digital stamps, but they are a bit of work. What works for me personally (I have a 10yr old HP printer) is printing the image on X-Press it Paper. I use Normal simple MS WORD to resize it. It gives me better orientation as to where it will print. Once it is printed out, if I'm in a hurry, I use my craft heat gun to "set" the image. Then I color it with Copics. If I'm not in a hurry, I let it "air" dry for a couple of days. This works a whole lot better. Again, this is what works for me. Hope this helps!

How about a collage of musical papers as your base? How about just cut them into squares or triangles and glue them together at diffrent angles. Or just basic black and purple CS cut into a collage with music symbols?
HTH!

don't stress so much abt the word "collage"--just slap that together for the back part--different shades of purlpe and black

I have everything cut, distressed and inked so just need to assemble now. It was an idea that just popped into my head--amazingly!!LOL

Thank you Alicia!
This is why I love coming on here. Everyone is so knowledgeable.

I'm planning on trying to print on regular cardstock, no copics here, IDK if it will work, but I'll give it a try. The digi stamps on Etsy are a real and much needed bargain.
I'm still not sure how I will make non metallic colored steampunk, but working on it.

Good luck with your collage Jean-kind of funny you got the same "problem" again!

Laura have you ever heard of Inka Gold metallic paint? It's not really paint consistency because it has beeswax in it, more like lip balm, but you can put it on almost anything and when you buff it w/ a cloth it looks metallic.

http://www.stuff4paintin...bz4u_a47YCFYef4Aod6SYALA

I have it in steel blue (the one on the link) I don't have orange but I do have Copper which is orangey(?) I can send you some from mine if you'd like to try it. A little goes a long way; I could use one of those 7 day pill boxes and scoop some into the wells.. If you'd like, PM your addy. Smile

I have an idea for my ATC's and my goal is to follow the directions and bring a smile to my fellow swappers faces.

I have to finish my Chunky Charms (Partner & Group), Candys Paint Brush and then my ATC's. Oh and let's not forget the Switch Plate! Lol I'm really having a good time. I hope everone else is too.

My colors are black & red; I am allowed to do shades of them as well?? Like if I use black Distress ink on glossy paper it doesn't come out black, it comes out grey. That's okay? But I'm assuming it needs to have black and red as black and red cuz those are my assigned colors, correct?

Are you sure "elegant" is an actual style or did you make it up?? LOL Flapper Wink
