I have one & I love it! I use it all the time when I'm waiting in the car for my kids at practice. I work on a computer all day and don't want to be tied to one when I'm crafting. Sad to hear the news Mad

Have a gypsy & use it all the time- love it's portability. Do not want to be tied to my computer (craft room & computer live in different parts of the house). Have a hard time doing a project WITHOUT my G.LOL Glad they can now be repaired even tho (knock on wood) no problems yet. Sad they are no longer going to be made- have recommended it to many people. Need to go back & read Nathan's post closer- just skimmed it the first time thru.Smile

Yes, I own a Gypsy...have had it since launch and I LOVE IT...I do not use my Cricut without it! It has gone to the hospital with me while my daughter was receiving chemo, it has gone on vacation road trips, it has gone to soccer, gymnastics and softball practice, it has gone to crops where there is NO internet access, it has gone to bed with me, it has gone to other parts of my house, where I can design in comfort and with the rest of my family...I am sadden to hear of it discontinuation, but I am hoping that a new re-designed one is in the works!!!! It would be what would make PC stand out again!

I would bet the ranch there will be a new one!

I'm thinking if PC is smart they WILL develop a new Gypsy. That is one of the greatest devices that really gives them an edge over the competition.

OP:

Yes I use and love my Gypsy (especially with my new mini)
Yes I use and love CCR ( especially for the big screen picture)
Yes I use and love my carts (when everything else turns to crap - they always work)

Yes I own a gypsy and use it exclusively! I am sad and very disappointed to learn that the gypsy has been discontinued. This just breaks my heart. I've only had cricut machines since October 2010 and now two of the ones I own has been discontinued. The Imagine and now the Gypsy. Hopefully they will come out with a more modern format for the gypsy. CCR doesn't work well with my internet provider.

I have a Gypsy, I use it, and I LOVE it!!

I'm on my 2nd one, though, because I had one of the connector metal pieces fall into the actual Gypsy, which I've read is a common problem. This occurred last Spring and Provo Craft replaced it with a refurbished G. I moved at the time I got the refurbished G so I haven't been crafting as much in the last year while getting settled in, but I DO use it (particularly lately). I get worried, though, because the metal pieces move on the 2nd one and could fall into the unit like my first. I also have weird things happening on the screen from time to time. I'm glad they are at least willing to service it now.

Also, I haven't been able to get my Snyc software to work on my PC. Provo emailed back that it could be my anti-virus software, but Sync doesn't work even when my AV is disabled. And I haven't had the chance to call PC on it.

The uncertainty of the Gypsy as a product makes me nervous. It is such a handy little device, though, that makes using the Cricut so much easier. I haven't used Cricut Craft Room because my crafting room is not set up to be using my Cricut at my computer. That is the beauty of the Cricut - that you don't need to be tied to a PC!! And one of the best things about the G is being able to tote it wherever I go! A lot of times, it's just to my living room so that I can still be with my family but design my next project. Other times I'm in the car killing time while waiting to pick up a daughter. It is VERY handy!! Please continue the Gypsy product, Provo Craft!!

PC's practices have been a little sketchy when it comes to machines, exclusivity of cartridges, etc. But the Gypsy is a product they got RIGHT. Support it and improve it!!

Sorry for the ramble, guys. Thansk for the forum to voice, though! :)

Gypsy all the time for me!!

Just hooked up my cake mini to the craftroom, but since my boy is usually on our puter--it still doesn't work out for me!!BigGrin BigGrin

Love having the portability to use my G anywhere I want!!

I never really used my E until I figured out how to work the Gypsy--it really helps me to see the "big picture" when I design.

Long live the G! (or at least the repair shopFlapper )

I have a Gypsy and use it everytime I cut on my Expression. It is so easy to size, organize and plan out the card or scrapbook layout. Plus I don't have to bring out the cartridges each time. I was kind of thinking they might be getting rid of them, they totally stopped advertising them or showing them on the website.

I own a Gypsy. I keep it synced but do not use it much. I like the size of CCR and I'm never far from the Internet anyway. I got my Gypsy at the same time I started using CCR so all of my carts were first linked to CCR and then to Gypsy, so I haven't had the same frustration of many of you. I don't care about a newer model unless it has a larger and color screen.

I have one but unfortunately it has the black screen of death making it unusable. Broke my heart when it happened because I used it all the time and never made a cut without it! I won't be replacing it, going to buy a silhouette cameo instead.

I have a Gypsy, but rarely use it. Not sure why, but I like to just plug a cartridge in and cut away. Guess, I need to get with the program, but that works for me. Now there are times I am forced to use CCR or the G if I want to weld.

I have 2 gypsy's one is back up.
I use CCR more than my gypsy. I like working on a bigger screen with CCR.
I am very happy they got the cartridges linked to CCR.
Now I don't have to worry about if or when my gypsy no longer works.
All my cartridges are right there in CCR.
For off line projects I will still use my gypsy.
I do like the Imagine portion of the gypsy.

Love my GypsyLove Love Love Took me awhile to really start using her but now she's my go to. Love being able to take it when I travel (especially since there is no internet at my parents' house!) But I'm also a CCR fan. Definitely wish it could be used stand alone, and on a tablet because my eyes like that bigger screen. Sad they are discontinuing but very glad repairs will be available. Just hope that maybe there is a bigger, better option coming our way!!

I have a Gypsy and used it all the time until the USB port disappeared into it. Had to learn to use CCR and really like it. Now I have to find out if there is a way to transfer my carts without spending $70 to fix something I don't need.
