Iuse my cricut to make bullentin boards and I cut out a lot of words. I'm wondering if there is a way to cut out a word and layer it so I don't have to glue in the cutouts of letters like the middles of O,A, D, B does this make sense

Are you using the blackout feature and gluing on the cut out pieces of the same letter? or are you cutting the letter and doing the letter shadow so it has an outline. if you are doing a lot of lettering you might try vinyl as it is very easy to cut and pick up especially if you don't want to weld letters together check out the white board I did for my grandie blog post
