I have been debating about sending in my G for repair on the black screen/blue light of death that it has. I was just curious how many are going to take advantage of this repair option for those having issues with your gypsy. I had my mindset on getting another cutting machine after my G died but now I'm contemplating getting it fixed so I can continue using my cricut machines and many, many, many carts that I have invested so much money in and do truly love.

I purchased one of the other machines last month and so far, I don't like it. There are no shadows for many cuts and no hide contour options that I have found. They might be there, I just haven't found the option. Laugh I would send my Gypsy in if I had that screen just because I love my hide contour options and I love my Gypsy.

Wouldn't the black screen of death (whatever it is) be a battery issue? If I were going to send it in, I would want to know how much they are going to charge to put in a new battery, what kind of battery it is (and if it is an improved battery over the ones they initially put in them) and/or if a new battery WILL fix that dead screen. AND, I might ask a few other questions, too, if they weren't already answered in Nathan's post above (where he told everyone about the GYPSY/CCR fix. He did discuss some options there, I believe.

Good luck. Let us know what you do. I don't own one myself, but I would like to see all the GYPSY owners more happy...at least, the ones who have been unhappy.
