Madness Sale

I really want to make that hanging mobile using the Ribbons & Rosettes cartridge. Any thoughts as to what to use as the ring at the top to hold them all together?

I have no idea even were to begin looking for something like that....

TIA BigGrin

You could use a strip of cardstock covered in Mod Podge or duct tape to give it extra strength.

If you have a craft store close by they may sell a foam ring or even one of those wooden circle frames that you use for cross stitch.

You could cover an embroidery hoop. Of course, you would still need another small ring to tie that to for the very top...to he your hanger.

Thanks for the ideas!! I think I'm going to attempt to start this over the weekend, and I'm thinking a trip to J's or M's might be in the cards. BigGrin

How about metal hoop rings? Not sure where to buy those. You know like the rings that go in the bottom of dresses?

I'm going to run to J's on Friday to see what they have. I dunno why I was thinking some kind of plant hanger thingie. Lol. We'll see what I can find.

Thanks for all the suggestions!! Really helps point me in the right direction so I'm not wandering around aimlessly through the store. Lol

Since you're talking about "hangers", maybe you could use a nice hanger top....clothes hanger (to hang from the area you're hanging your mobile) and cut off the hanger itself on both sides of the hook part about three to five inches out (whatever you would like; cut shorter so not too much of the hanger shows, if you don't want it to show that much. You could even make the hook itelf smaller at the top of the hanger. After you cut both sides, then bend them up where you have the band for your mobile (either through holes in the band and/or go ahead and let the band sit down into the bent ends of the hanger lengths on both sides of the hook.

You can use needle nose pliers to cut your hanger/wire. Be sure to use protective glasses.

Hope that isn't too hard to understand.

I don't know if they're still around but I used to macramé and there were all different sized metal hoops available at craft stores. They were inexpensive also.
Hope you find something, I like that project too!
