I can't wait to get mine. They will be so awesome....

Amanda and I decided to make her great grandma a box of handmade cards for Christmas. They will be for all major holidays and different occasions. I am wonder how many cards would be appropriate to put in the box. I know Christmas is going to be a big number I am thinking about 3 dozen for Christmas. They are going to mostly be done with cricut cuts.

We also have a older lady friend that loves handmade cards and I thought we could make her a smaller box. I had given her a card I made one time and she cut the front off the back and wrote a note on it and she sent it to her daughter (who lives in another part of the state) and she loved it. When this lady told me what she did and was so happy doing it it made me feel good about her liking it so well.

I know she will love the cards we make her.

I absolutely HATE that tomorrow is one of those STUPID holidays for no good reason ...which means we wont be getting any mail ! Blink Angry I wish all holidays were banned except for REAL holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving and Easter and July 4th. Americans are much too lazy and expect to have all this time off work with pay....what nonsense ! I will be working tomorrow as I always do...I even work on Labor Day...no reason NOT to work. I just don't get it...oh well...

I hope you all get your cards by Tuesday - but at least it is in plenty of time to use them fro Halloween.

Please remember to post your cards for this month no later than OCTOBER 30th. Anyone who is making cards for NOVEMBER, please try to send NOVEMBER and DECEMBER together. It will be easier if you do this. I would like to send the November cards (Christmas Gift card holders) and the DECEMBER ( New Year's or Winter greetings) cards at the same time if it is possible. It is all up to you ladies though. I should be able to mail cards out on November 10th and December 10th if you want them split up.

I already have cards from several people that are made through January, so please let me know what your plans are if you can. THanks !

What WONDERFUL gift...very practical for a senior citizen too. 3 Dozen sounds good to me but it would depend upon how many people she sends cards to I suppose. Having them assorted will be so nice ! Very thoughtful of you ! Please take pix so we can see what you make for her Love

Yes - I think everyone did a super nice job on the Halloween cards... and the Thanksgiving cards will really BLOW YOU AWAY ! I have already received some terrific cards ...
Remember they can be "Thanks" in general cards, or THANKSGIVING...either one is fine - although it is nice if they have Fall colors on them.

I have 2 different designs in mind for mine so I may end up making 2 sets ~ BigGrin

I don't use the CCR but if it is from the Holidays at Home cartridge it would be found where they have the projects cartridge handbooks online. Look under Support.

Okay ladies we have 11 days to go before you must have your cards in the mail for this month...please try to mail on time - I want to be able to mail them back out not later than November 10th so you can use the Thanksgiving cards in a timely manner....

Please remember that if you send more than 6 cards at a time that the postage will have to increase as well. I try to send everyone back their change when you send me cash or stamps...at least rounded off to the nearest dollar- I have a notebook to keep track of it, so some who send me extra $$ I want to let you know that I write it down and will send refunds as time goes on and we complete the 3 month cycle.
Thanks !Love

I know what you mean about the Thanksgiving cards Dori - I just got the Tim Holtz Thanksgiving set of embossing folders and started another new design. Wub
KM - Glad to hear you have mailed - yours take about a week to arrive here usually. Mail is slow from California to FLorida for some reason...even with Priority postage, which is a waste of money on a package that is less than 13 ounces.

Ladies - please check on POST #1 and let me know if I have your name and cards received correctly credited to you....it helps to keep me from losing things ! ha Ha !!Tongue

Hi everyone - I changed the post a little bit about the November and December cards...please read ASAP.

The Christmas card does NOT have to be a gift card holder...these are nice to have but it is optional.

I will be taking pictures tomorrow of the Thanksgiving cards I have received so far and post for you to enjoy !

Hi everyone !!
KM - Your cards arrived today and they are scrumptiously awesome !! Love the book-marker inside !!
My Paypal addy is familytrader@embarqmail.com (EMBAR"Q" not a "G" MAIL)
Uh....I spent a few minutes looking trhough all the cards for the MOOHLA and there was none, so I figured I would have to send my little GREEN MEN out to your house to COLLECT !! OhMyGod Scared So, you better send some quick before this guy named Guido shows up with the contract !! LOL Flapper

Well _ I finally got some pix done...sorry I am so slow ya'll but this Fibromyalgia has been kicking up with a vengeance and it takes a lot of my energy away...

First set of pictures of this month's "Thankful" cards

First card you see - Carol Klink made an Awesome and VERY 3-dimensional card that is heavy with embellishments, including pumpkin seeds and foamies and doilies and raffia and...well she did leave out the kitchen sink !BigGrin they are so pretty !!

Second card - A MOST adorable Turkey Lurkey card made by Cathi King (Gram to 3) She displayed some wonderful skill in "Quilling" !! Plus she did stamp and heat emboss the greeting on the front...and inside there is a "pop-up" that says "Gobble Gobble" !! Way Cute Cathi !!

Third card - Evelyn Robinson made a really classy and lovely "envelope card" that has a pull out insert ...the card is made in lovely Fall colors and there is lots os stamped heat embossing with Gold shafts of wheat on the inner card , just waiting for you to write or stamp your own sentiment to your favorite person !

That's all I can get accomplished tonight girls.... I will try to do more tomorrow if possible...

Thanks for all of your wonderful greetings and for participating in my swap...we have had a few drop outs, but still plenty of interest so we shall continue as long as we can ! BigGrin

You mailed 3 days late and I have been holding off everyone else's exchange for your cards to get here... So I will be sorting cards tonight and mailing out tomorrow if I can get it all done by then.

Here is a picture I took last night for my Blog of another card I made for Halloween

Keysdeb - I had a hard time with embossing powder for a long time...it still presents a challenge to me sometimes. I learned that you need to be sure to hurry up and get the powder on there before the ink dries too much. So you can only do one thing at a time. Maybe that will help you . Anyone else who has suggestions, please feel free to help her. Love

Our poor little neglected blogs.LOL

Barbara, they will fit easier into their envelopes, than me trying to fit into my Jordache JeansLove

LOL TOO FUNNY .... Don't feel bad, I gave up on even buying any jeans about 20 years ago !! I have to have stretchy stuff to try to stuff this turkey into anything anymore !!
I don't keep my Blog up as much as I should either...by the way, you all need to check out my Blog before Halloween because I am giving away a free cartridge of "Merry & Bright" for my TREAT this week !

Andrea - I remember now that you sent your October cards already...I better go dig them up !

POSTAGE NOTE TO EVERYONE: Honestly, the easiest thing I have found to do is to get you all to send the cash with your cards for postage, or send by Paypal. If the weight is 3 ounces or less it costs about $1.75 to send with a tracking # and $2.10 for 4 ounces. If I have to use one of my own padded envelopes it will cost another 50 cents for that. Some of you send heavier cards and it makes the weight go up. It is hard to figure out what to do with stamps because the amount will never come out just right...I do my best to adjust to every person's preferences but there is no way to do it perfectly to the penny each month. Some people send pre-paid Priority envelopes and that is nice, but then I have no way of giving you a tracking #...and it costs more that way, but I have no objections to that of course. But I have no wish to give the Post Office more money than we have to. I am keeping totals in a notebook so I can check off the amount of money you send and how much postage I have bought for you. So, if you send extra cash I will use it until it is exhausted and let you know when you will owe more. If you ever have any questions please feel free to PM me or leave a post here ... BigGrin
