Hi Ladies - I just got back from my trip and wanted to check in with you all before I go to bed....a long 14 hour drive and I am pooped ! Laugh
Denise, my condolences for the loss of your brother...I know these times are difficult and I hope you will take time to be good to yourself. The cards are not that important, but thank you for sending.

Ladies, you do NOT have to send me a tracking # on the cards. You can add tracking for your own use and peace of mind - especially if you have to pay extra for it. I get free tracking on my labels, so it is not an issue with that. I like to add tracking because then I can assure you that I have returned your items to the best of my ability, and also so I can put a trace on it if the post office loses them. You do not have to post the # here unless you want to. Just telling me you have sent is good enough for me. If this were a partner swap for a really valuable package it is important to post tracking in those cases. Love

So, my DH will be making a post office run in the morning to see if any cards have arrived and I will try to post pix as soon as possible to let you all know what has arrived for the Merry Old Month of May !
Wink ThumpUp Woot Wub Be back tomorrow !!

Hi Ladies ~ We got 4 more lovely cards in the mail today .... here are the pix for you to see.

If this is all that is coming in, I will sort and mail back on Saturday...so please let me know if your cards on still on the way Love

CarolKlink sent us a Rootin' TOotin' Cowboy card that is I think, the BEST card she has ever made...really awesome use of some "denim" paper, and 'bandana' papers with boots and stars and rope ties ! Way to go Carol !!

Denise made an awesome "gentleman's" card that can be used for any occasion...add your own sentiment to this one ! She also added a lovely matched two-tone envelope for it. From the stamping of the image to the choices of papers, this card is a real winner ! Thanks Denise !

Catita sent a bright and cheerful "Plaid shirt & Bow Tie" Guy card in a lovely mix of Spring greens with a matching envelope ! I love how the Bow Tie seems to pop out at you... This one can also be used for many occasions - Thanks Catherine !

Lori made us a very nice and neatly Layered and Tailored Father's Day card that you can add your own sentiment on hand-written note for a special guy in your life...I love the color combo she used and the layers have some of those foam squares to make it very much a 3-D look. Great job Lori !

Okay......so that is the stash so far. I really love what you all have done with this challenge and I will be back tomorrow with pictures of my card too.

One note to Kali - you are fine on the money...thanks.

SPECIAL NOTE TO : AJK SCRAPPING (Angela)

I apologize for leaving your name off the list on Post #1 - actually I think it was accidentally erased when I was making some edits. I have put you back on there...
I also researched and found that we did receive your cards for APRIL and the photo was posted last month. I also found where your replacement cards were delivered on May 15th, so you should have known that your cards were received.
Sorry for the confusion. I get overwhelmed at times with my work load. Since you were new, your name did not stick in my memory so well and when you posted I had to try to look up what had happened.
If you did not actually get your cards, you will need to check with your postal carrier, because I had a tracking # on them and it shows delivered 5/15 #9400109699938450680213 .
Thank you for sending the cards.... Love Barbara

Thanks KM - I am way ahead of you. The August cards must be SQUARE cards and I am also going to make a few samples to put on here to invite some new ideas. I am thinking about requiring that each card include a removable TAG or other item (like a keychain or bookmarker)

You all keep your eyes peeled for up-coming card adventures !

lol.....I prefer the term niche, but postcards and charms may be enough to make me stick my head up out of my rut and test new waters. LOL I'll be sure to grab Denise on the way out...being the gentlewoman that I am, I'll even let her lead. BigGrin Wink

So great to hear from you Beverly...I always look forward to receiving your pretty cards !
I will make a note to put you in for August...but you may have to remind me.

A NOTE TO EVERYONE - I will be revising the swap some for the August "reveal"....No swap in July - and there will be a new thread starting for August so we will not have to load as many pages of posts . I will get this up and running early in July so you will see what we are going to do. I will try to "simplify" the rules and mailing procedures.

Yes ! We need something new and fresh to do...and as KM suggests it will keep those "creative juices" flowing... I will try to put up links to some videos for you to try.

Love Love All cards were mailed back today !! Look for Happy Mail in your box soon !!

Hi everyone! The cards look great!!!! I hope that I get a Yoda one. It is FABULOUS!!!! My hubby is the biggest Star Wars fan.

Barbara, I'm concerned. I sent my cards out June 2 priority mail. Have you received them yet? I didn't see a pic of them yet. I'll check the tracking on it too.

Have a great day!

Hi Everyone

Dear Paula - I am so sorry to tell you this, but your cards were not received until this afternoon. I had already sorted and mailed out the cards to everyone...when my DH got home from the post office he had your Priority Mail Envelope in his hands. I looked at the name on the return address and thought - "oh no"...
I see where you mailed them on 6/2 with an expected delivery date of 6/4. But, my post office did not sort them until 6-6 (Friday)THere is a marking on in it that is handwritten when they sort the mail... and it must have been after closing. Strange thing that there was no notice for us to pick up the package (as it would not fit into our small po box) until today. Coming in from NY state, this package should not have taken so long to get into our mailbox, but there is nothing we can do about that now.
This is truly a sad thing because the cards are so beautiful and made so professionally and certainly deserved to be distributed... I took photos of them tonight and will now post for all to see.
The good news is that you will receive a package of cards, including the Yoda card you liked, as I am sending you my batch of cards. I will be glad to keep the 6 cards you sent and I am sure I can use them...I cannot think of any other solution to this dilemma. I am sorry they wont be enjoyed by 5 other people, but at least you will be getting a batch of cards too.

Well, so much for using Priority Mail and paying extra to send these cards....it just is not worth the extra expense IMHO. BigGrin

Ladies, here is the wonderful card that was made by Paula - As you can see the workmanship is really wonderful and she put a lot of time and effort into all the details. SHe included a sentiment medallion that has a "Happy Fathers Day" greeting on one side and a "Happy Birthday" greeting on the other.

Wishing you all a wonderful Father's Day weekend up-coming.

Barbara,

That was a very sweet thing you did to send Paula your cards. I can imagine how disappointimg it would be to go to all that work plus the extra expense of Priority Mail and then not to receive any cards. I think you're a very nice person no matter what KM says about you.

Hi Denise!

Thank you so much for the compliment. It gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. Laugh The main deer head is from the Cricut.com/design website. The openings are spellbinders(if you want the exact one, I'll get that info for you. The orangy coral swirl is an Anna Griffin Provocraft die. The deer and deer family on the inside of the card and the envelope are memory box dies I believe. I embossed the outside brown patterned paper with an Anna Griffin embossing folder. The die and folders came as a set. So pretty. I hope that answered your question. I have hunters in my family as well. That's why I chose the "hunter" theme. Its so hard to find deer/hunter cards. BigGrin

Thank you again Barb for your kind generousity. I really appreciate it.

Take care everyone! I can't wait to see the cards in person. Love

Oh - thank you Yenpeso !! I keep trying to tell KM that should quit talking about me behind my back Flapper LOL
I do try to be a good hostess and look out for everyone as best I can.
I appreciate all the hard work all of my card swap members do....and I hope you will all not be too dismayed at some of the changes I want to make starting in August. I think it would be more fun to vary the sizes and shapes of our cards and perhaps even have specific Lay-Outs from time to time. It is always good to work on new skills ! Love

Here is a look at a card I made for a gentleman who is a WWII veteran and had a June 6th birthday. I thought that the poppy theme would be good for him (he was there on D-Day) and while it looks rather plain, I didnt think "fussy" was good for a man's card. I first embossed a white cardstock with "Poppy Fields" and then used the new Spectrum Noir pencils to color in the flowers....some "Black Diamond" stickles for the stamens, and red silk ribbons. Simple tailored mats of red and black. It is a 5x7 card which is my favorite size to make. I also love doing 5 1/2" or 6" square cards...You will see some of those coming up.

~ Blessings to All of you... Card-makers are very special people !! Woot

That's a great card, Barbara. I received my package and I can't tell you all how pleased I am with your work. This batch may be my favorite yet. Thank you all!
