I am happy to be hosting this week's card challenge. Everyone can join in!

You can choose to do all the sketches or only one or two. Feel free to flip the sketch, change a few things around, give it your own personal touch. The main thing is to have fun making your cards and post them here for us to see and enjoy!

The ad colours are for added inspiration and might help you to get out of your comfort zone. Use them if you can but don't worry if you don't.

I've tried to pick some sketches to suit everyone.

Sketch #1 - Not too many layers, simple shapes

Sketch #2 - Lots of layers

Sketch #3 - For those that like flowers and other embellishments

For the Extra Credit, make a Mother's Day card. If you already made yours then make a card for a female.

Here are the ad colours from Dee!

So here is my Sketch #1 - I used Winter Woodland for the snowman, Fabulous Finds for the album/frame, Teresa Collins December 25th for the snowflakes and Paper Dolls Dressup for the snowman's vest.

It was a bit challenging to take a photo at night as the acetate on the frame kept reflecting but i thinks this one works best. Thanks to Dee for some good photography advice!

And my last sketch #3 - I flipped the image. It is also the Extra Credit mother's day card. I used Graphic 45 Place in Time papers. I used Ornamental Iron 2 for the corner and black flourishes (may be hard to see). 2 of the 4 flowers were handmade.

Dee thanks I love the colors, a fabulous combination.

Hope to get to these is the nest couple of days. I am working on a wedding card I need to finish up and will share when I get it done.

I was worried over the last week that I lost a bit of my mojo as I was not real thrilled with a couple of things I have done latelyHuh Mellow

Giesle great sketches and your cards are beautiful!

Okay so yesterday I couldn't post my pictures which is terribly frustrating with this site. So I'm going back to leaving my blog post links again. Sorry for the delays. My laundry sign project is up first, and tomorrow I'll post the card I did get done for last week's challenge. Now onto this week's challenge. Great sketches!

Gisele....I guess you were posting your cards the other night while I was posting about your sketches. LOL. Your #1 card is a very pretty Christmas card. I really like the muted colors in the paper you used. The stars look great. What did you put on them?

Your #2 card is a very striking card and makes a perfect Ad Color Card.

Your #3 card makes a lovely Mother's Day card. You can't go wrong using Graphic 45 Paper. This is just beautiful. It also reminds me that I better get started on my MD card!

Christine....I went to your blog but didn't see the card. I did see the "Washing" sign, which is adorable. I liked the denim paper you used. As for pencil marks on paper, get a "white" eraser and/or a "gum eraser." You can find them with the art supplies. They both work well.

Sunnieday....So nice to see you posting again. I like the bold colors you used in your #1 card, and I also liked how you used the "dotted" paper for the sentiment.

Thanks for Hosting this week and for the very nice sketches. I like the Extra Credit, but since I lost my Mother many years ago, I will make a Mother's Day card for my dear daughter, instead.

Dee,
Thanks for the bright AD Color Challenge. This seems to be a favorite combo of alot of the Ladies on here...good choice!

#1 - Very nice, like the silver snowflakes and very elegant Mr. Snowman with his Top Hat and pearl buttons vest. Love the way you attached the ribbon through the slots, very creative!
#2 in AD Colors - Very pretty, lots of details and textures. All the layering you did looks great, on the sketch it looked like it would end up a bit too much, but I really like the results. You are so good at mixing different patterns all the time... some which I would never even attempt to use together, but you have a very keen eye for it.
#3 - WOW!! Beautiful!! What a perfect image for a MD card. Again, a great mix of patterns, the pretty flowers, and pearls throughout add such a 'Motherly" touch to the whole card.

christine
Love your Laundry sign with the clothes hanging on the clothesline and all the trees in the BG. You did a very nice job cutting all the tiny clothes cuts for added detail. The denim paper for the words was a good choice. Nice that you are using your crafting skills to add your favorite personal touches with, to make your new home your own.

sunnieday
So nice to see you on here again!
#1 - Very nice, like how the banner and heart colors make the colors of the Polkadot BG really pop. Will be watching for your other two cards!Smile

BingoLady
#1 - Very nice, you pretty much have all of Christmas covered in one card...tree lights, very pretty tree decoration, embossed snowflakes and the best of all...yummy Christmas goodies! I even see my favorite thing to make at Christmas...Chocolate Pretzels!Wub

Will now attempt to get at least one card made before dinner time and my DGS's Little league baseball game tonight,

Wow! So many comments already and such beautiful cards! Glad everyone is enjoying the different sketches!

BingoLady - Glad you joined me in making a Christmas card! Love your ornaments – they complement your design! Gorgeous card in the ad colours! Love the flower border with gems! Pretty flourishes and great background paper!

Donna – I thought you might like some of the details in these sketches but don’t stress too much when you’re making your cards LOL Looking forward to seeing your wedding card!

Dee – I added these tiny round beads by MS called “white gold”. It was included in a package of different types of glitter.

Christine – Good luck with the remodelling of your new home! Your frame will be a nice addition to your laundry room. Lots of different cuts!

Sunnie – Glad you could join in this week! Wonderful anniversary card - great colour palette! Lovely card in the ad colours with the various cut-out designs!

Looking forward to seeing more creations from the "regulars" and hopefully others looking-in will join in!

Turtlebug - I don't know how I missed you the first time! As for mixing patterns, I start off by choosing different papers but they are usually from the same paper stack. I then focus on one solid colour that picks up one of the colours from the patterned papers. Maybe you'll give it a try?

But anyways, wanted to share with you guys a new card that I made on my blog today. it's so cute. It's a birthday card for my grandfather whose birthday is next month. Come check it out! Thanks. http://wp.me/p2Ygsl-39

]Well the wedding card is finished at least for the most part. I still have to complete the inside. It came out so pretty, but it is so hard to take pictures of the white. The wedding color is pewter so that is why I added that touch of color. All the flowers and leaves are made out of vellum.
I can not take all the credit for this card as it is a total scrapift from a lady that calls herself Bird check out her card HERE

One little thing I wanted to add, the sentiment is computer generated and printed on vellum. If you get it off the printer immediately and then sprinkle embossing powder over it you can emboss it. The printer ink does not dry right away on vellum so it works perfectly.

I will try and get to work on this weeks sketches now.

Donna – So, so gorgeous and elegant! I’m in awe! I love all of the details! I can certainly see how you pay attention to details and this card must have been stressful. I did check out “Bird’s card” and it is gorgeous too. I love the size and placement of your flowers. I also prefer how you embossed each tier. Beautiful card! TFS with us!!

I'm looking forward to seeing more cards!

Here is my #1
I cut the rectangles with CCR and the Craft Room Basics cartridge then distressed the edges. The paper is all CTMH paper and so are the stamps. The bottom corner pieces I stamped then fussy cut them out.

Now off to tackle #2
