I just wanted to let everyone here know that IF you have ever ordered from walmart.com that they save your credit card info. Someone hacked into my account earlier today and started buying $200 gift cards. Luckily on the 2nd one my bank marked it as suspicious and froze my account. So IF you have ever created an account with them and ordered from them..go in and change your password and delete all credit card info. Do it for your own protection. It's not fun trying to get stolen money back.

sorry to hear this happened to you, but thanks for sharing to remind others to keep it from happening to them.

I always delete my Credit card info from any account after I make the order. I know it saves time to have it saved if its a place you shop from often but for protection its best to check and make sure its not saved and if it is to delete it.

Amazon.com keeps your info too so go delete your CC info from your account. I checked here at cricut and can't find any of my CC info.

If me sharing this info will help just one person from ging thru what i am..then I'm happy to share.

I had a $200 charge on my account from Walmart about 1 1/2 years ago. I live in NJ and the charge was made in CA. Our bank caught it ASAP and flagged our account.

Hope you get it taken care of quickly.

Thank you for the information. My paypal account was hacked last October. It was such a hassle. I went to Walmart.com & deleted my credit card info. I try to not save credit card info on sites anymore. But, Walmart had my info from a long time ago.

When I order from them I use a gift card. They don't need to have my info.

Thanks for the heads up! I completely forgot that I had an account with Walmart but when I checked, there it was along with my CC info! It is deleted now!

I am glad those of you went and deleted your CC info in those accounts. I'd hate for this to happen to anyone else.

On an up-note..I had replied to the walmart.com email confirmation order and simply said "I did not place this order. It's fraud!" and they sent me a reply back today saying they stopped the charge from going thru and cancelled the order. So no money should be missing from my account. But I can't check it yet because the bank froze my access to my account online. So hopefully my $200 is still in my bank.

The same thing happened to my mom two weeks ago on walmart.com. Someone from Walmart called her to ask if she purchased $100.00 gift card. She told them she did not so they cancelled the order. Red flag was up when they used a different email address and it did not match the one associated with my mom's walmart.com account.

Had hubby log in this morning to make sure the money was in our account since walmrt said they cancelled it and no money would be taken out..well they lied..the $200 has been taken from my account.Sad Angry Cursing

I think you can relax about the $200. If it was a credit card, after the investigation, the money is charged back to your account. Walmart.com seems to be very sensitive to this (and sadly unsurprised) and will send some paperwork about the issue and close your account with them. This happened to me last month, and after 2 phone calls, some mailing of the statement and returning the 2 items that I did not purchase but arrived at my address (one went somewhere else, it was the expensive item, and who is stupid enough to send a small t-shirt to my address and tip me off anyway?) everything went back to normal. Except that I do not have a Walmart.com account and after seeing the number of people that this has happened to, I probably won't reinstate another. There must be a security issue somewhere (constant ongoing leak) or a big hack and data loss that they did not inform customers about. Either way, I will be cautious about them from now on.

Glad you got your money back with ease. In the email they sent me they did say they closed the account and deleted all my info but I had already gone in and deleted all my info and changed my password. I haven't tried going back in since then. Maybe I should check?? I think you are right about the security issue. This same thing happened to me last year at Amazon.com. They also save info without your knowledge. Guess it might be some where in fine print...but I will make sure to delete info if I ever order from those places again.

Just as a matter of safety, never, ever use a debit card to buy anything online. Someone can wipe out your bank account faster than you can blink once they have access to your debit card. Always use a credit card or for those of you who for whatever reason can't or won't use a credit card, buy a pre- paid Visa, MC or Amex card. You can survive if someone tries to use your credit card, but the onus is on you to prove your case to the bank and get your money back which can take weeks.
