OK well on to a new week of sketches, let's see what every has got!!!!BigGrin EVERYONE is welcome to join us, old, new, passers by just join in the fun. That is what is is all about FUN. Use these sketches for inspiration, do one, two or all three the choice is yours. Flip them, turn them whatever tickles your fancySmile Tongue

Sketch #1 from Card Maps

Sketch # 2 also Card Maps

Sketch #3 from Tami Mayberry
OK this one is a bit different, make it a circle shaped card or mount your circles on a square card (that is what I did)

And from DEE our Ad Colors, it is not a must that you use them but it helps in picking out colors. Just extra inspiration for you.

The EXTRA CREDIT this week is to make one of the sketches a monochromatic card, another-words all in the same color family, like all different shades of blue or black, or red you get the picture.Wink

Looking forward to this week, and I am thrilled that we are keeping this going and hosting on a volunteer basis, just speak up if you want to host.[/img]

Here is my sketch #1 - I really really do NOT like how this turned out. I think it is too flat for me, no pop dots usedAngry

Flourish and tag from Art Philosophy. Plaid paper from a Michaels paper stack.

I am working on making another one of this sketch for my extra credit, hope to get it posted tomorrow.

Here is my sketch #2, probably my favorite for the week. The paper is from a K& Company paper double sided paper stack. The flowered paper on the left side has a lot of texture to it. The white parts are very puffy. I set up the bent corner cut in CCR using a scalloped square that I cut in half, then added a button.

And finally my #3. Just to show you what you can do using CCR. Very simply put a circle on your may and add 4 stars to the middle of it. Papers are printed on glossy paper. USA are stickers. TFL

OK your turnBigGrin Laugh LOL

Or by the way, my grandson that was deployed on a submarine just ported in Guam a couple of days ago. I can not tell you how my heart feels to know he is back on land. He should be flying back to the states later this week.

DeeScraps,

Thank you for the soft and pretty AD Color Challenge for this week...already have a perfect paper in mind to use on my card.

NanaDonna,

Thanks for Hosting and the great sketches you have for us this week. LOVE the Extra Credit Challenge, have seen a few made that way on here before and they always look so nice. Now I get a chance to make one, too!

#1 - LOVE the colors and the flourish, what did you dot the flourish with? The ribbon is a perfect match for the plaid paper. Nice male card, too!
#2 - Beautiful! Great combo of colors, patterns and textures. Everything blends so well together and the floral paper is especially pretty...LOVE it all!!
#3 - Very nice! Like how you made a challenging-looking (to me) sketch so easy to accomplish. Love the theme of this card and the USA in gold lettering. The sentiment speaks the truth about our beloved country!ThumpUp

Well, was at Dentist early this morning, then running errands and a little shopping. Now home for a few hours, then off to my precious DGSs baseball game. Will try to get a card done later tonight...everyone enjoy your evening!Smile

Donna – thanks again for hosting! Three wonderful sketches for us this week – I like the variety and the challenge of the round card! Sketch #1 – I know you’re not fond of it but I do like it. The plaid paper brings all of the colours together. There are plenty of details with the embossing, ribbon and flourish with the white pen accents! Love your Sketch #2 – such wonderful papers! Great patriotic card for sketch #3 and TFS some tips with CCR! Great news for your DGS – will you get to see him once he is back in the States?

Dee – Thanks for the ad colours this week!

Time to go and play with these great sketches!

Hello everyone!

Nana Donna....thank you for hosting this week and for the great sketches. They look very easy to follow and the extra-credit sounds like fun.

#1 Card....I like the colors you used and especially the plaid paper. The white dots on the swirl looks great.

#2 Card....I love everything about this card!

#3 Card....Great circle card and thanks for the tips on CCR. So glad to hear that your grandson is safe and coming home. BigGrin

BingoLady....I always enjoy seeing your "desert" cards. Good job on the circle card. I like the colors you used. Were they done with Nestibilities?

I finished this card this morning of Sketch #1. The paper is from a DCWV Paper Pack called "Lemon Flower Stack." Ribbon from my stash and the sentiment label was cut with a Nestie. I'll add the sentiment later. The yellow floss is from Joanns.

Dee

Hello everyone, sorry to have been MIA yesterday. My BFF and her hubby came over yesterday. I made dinner for them as it was their 48th anniversary. We had a great time and they spent the night plus we had Miss Emma for the night so it was a busy day.

Bingolady - love seeing your desert scene card again, always nice to share what we see outside out backdoor everyday. Great scalloped circle card, love the blues, nice extra credit card. #2 very very pretty and in the ad colors also. Great use of that branch pinch

Dee - Beautiful! I love that paper stack, now I will have to look through it for the ad colors. I love the little bow.

Being a bit lazy today so hope to get in my room a little and finish my granddaughter's graduation card.

My Sketch Card #3:

Circles - Spellbinders "Standard Circles" set
Pattern Paper - Floral picture cut from a Calendar
Happy B'day - Stamping Cartridge
Embossing - From a set of CuttleBug Strip Border folders
Butterflies - Halogen cutouts (same material as store-bought party confetti) to which I added purple Bling and glued only the left wing tip to the middle circle so they look as if in flight. I popped the two top circles for a 3-D look, I have posted a side view to show the look of the card.

I'm on a mission to finish all my cards today...very busy week-end coming up. Dinner/Poker night tomorrow (I think!/) with NanaDonna, BingoLady and our Hubbys, DGS, baseball game on Saturday and company for Mother's Day on Sunday..WHEW! tired just thinking about it!!LOL

My Sketch Card #1 in the Extra Credit:

Feather Paper - Michael's Single Sheet Rack
Embossing - Cuttlebug "Modern Wallpaper" folder
Tag - Spellbinders "Tag Trio" set..added Brads which I covered over with a Sharpie gray pen because they were originally lime in color and I didn't have gray Brads.
Fern cuts are in three shades of gray (not 50!!) using the Martha Stewart Fern punch.
Black Border Strip - ek Border Punch...I punched the strip on both sides of it.
Sentiment - Michael's rubber stamp from $1 bin....I used TSUKINEKO Dew Drop Brilliance pigment ink in "Platinum Planet". NanaDonna gifted me with a 24-color assortment of these pigment inks and I think the are so pretty! I will be using these more often when stamping...Love them!! Thanks again, Donna!Love

Turtlebug - fabulous cards. I love how you did the flower image on #3 and such pretty colors together. I love pop dots hardly make a card with out them, that is probably why I don't like my #1 because there are no pop dots on itBigGrin

#1 very very pretty great papers I love the look of the sofr feathers in the background. Glad you are enjoying your inks and glad they weren't dried up I had them for a while.

Bingolady....A very nice #2 card. I like the paper you used and the yellow flower really pops. The embossing looks good.

Turtlebug....You are on a roll! What a nice bright #3 card you made. Love how you popped the circles. The #1 is great. I think black and white always looks so nice. The brads look perfect, as does the silver ink.

Hi Ladies,
Want to share with you an idea someone posted on the MB about storage for the punches. She posted pictures and she had a ton of punches. Wish I could remember the Lady's name or where I saw the post to gave her the credit and you could also see her awesome collection of punches. I LOVED the idea...so I borrowed it.

Here it is:
She ordered some bars called "BYGEL" rods from Ikea and this is how they are used. MY DH put them up today. As you can see I don't have very many punches, but I had enough (6) rods to put all I have for now. I also just bought this ribbon holder at good old Michael's for some of my ribbon. I have ribbon all over my room and hope someday to put them all in the same place....if only I could stop buying ribbon all the time!Laugh

The Turtles you see in front of the desk ribbon rack have been given to me by NanaDonna or Bingolady...since I'm TurtleBug!!

Happy Mother’s Day!

BingoLady – two wonderful round shaped cards! Great desert scene! Love the stacking and blue colour palette of the second card! Love your “be happy” card for Sketch #1 – pretty colours and papers!

Dee - Great Sketch #1 in the ad colours! Lovely papers!

Turtlebug – Very interesting and wonderful card for Sketch#3 – great techniques and lots of work! Love your monochromatic card – again many wonderful details! Wonderful Sketch #2 in the ad colours – I’m sure your niece will love it! TFS your punch storage – I have 3 of those Bygel rods but I also attach some metal pots from Ikea to store other small items as I don’t have many punches. I will share a photo later.

Donna – yes the Sketch #1 was quite suitable for a Grad card! Great card in the school colours! Great image and card from last week’s sketches. Great colouring with Copics – the sun seems to be shining with the shading of the hair!

Sunnie – Great birthday cards – both are nice and colourful! My favourite is the one with the turquoise colours!

Vickie – I’m sorry for your loss of your dear husband and the other challenges that you have faced. What a blessing with the birth of your new grandson! Your Mother’s Day card is beautiful.

Enjoy your day! Hope your are spoiled by your family!
