I had been told that I should never turn on my Expressions machine without a cartridge in the machine, is that true? I didn't think that it would hurt anything if I turn it on without a cartridge, but I wanted to make sure. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?

Yes, you should have a cart in your Cricut when you turn it on.

Really? I never knew that. I thought that applied only to hot swapping. I've had mine for 8 months and it's NEVER had a cartridge in it. I only use it with my Gypsy. Will this damage it in some way?
