This would be dscussed once we get partners and see what each has for dies?

thanks

I think it is probably easiest that when you get your partner, you can talk about what you have. I will use cob as an example...she wants a tryptich. So maybe once she finds out what dies her partner has she will have an idea of what she would like for the other two items.

That is right - it isn't just embellished die cuts where you slap a couple pieces of paper together do a little inking and call it a day. If your partner requests the dies as an embellishment...it needs to be its own little piece of art. Backed with chipboard for sturdiness. Covered front and back. Inked, sprayed, etc. and completely embellished.

There are only three items and plenty of time to do a really good job on these.

I did post some more inspiration last night.

*******
If you are supplementing using your cricut you still need to use chipboard. You can cut tags, etc. from the cricut if you don't have a die.

I will cut dies and mail off the weekend of june 15th to fill requests.

********

Gwynne - I don't have any of the holiday related dies. My original reason was that I have sooooooooooo many cricut cartridges it was hard to justify buying a die that couldn't be used all year around. I so want the reindeer die though.

**********

if you want cuts please pm me your address and what cuts you would like.

1. you don't have to list your dies; I did incase someone did not have a lot of dies to choose from, I would rak some cuts.

2. When you get your partner you can discuss what dies you have and come up with an idea of what they would like.

for example you have the pocket watch die. Your partner might like an embellishment made out of that. Lets say you also have the cabinet card die and your partner may want a tryptich.

When I say small project, I mean something like a tryptic that is made out of the dies. The dies should be the centerpiece of the project. You can make tags, etc. Now if both you and your partner wanted to do something different that is fine, but the general idea is to make something with the dies themselves.

I just browsed through really quick yesterday, I didn't think about the Cricut, I thought it was more the store bought dies like TH.

I'll join in after all, actually this is right up my alley, I'm excited for it. I saw the link you posted on the tryptich style, looks interesting.

Denise

do you want it so that you have the large dies and then the large ones with the center cut out with the smaller one to create a frame or just the large and small?

I am in! I am in love that Words and Pictures Blog.Wub You had me at that triptych she made of Peter Rabbit. Really amazing work. I started going to through her blog and her ideas and style are really wonderful.

The only problem I am having a problem understanding is: what do you mean by embellishments? I mean I know what an embellishment is but I am not sure what you mean for this swap. (Sorry if I am making it harder than it should be) I usually think of embellishments as pretty small. I am confused because, in the youtube video, alittleshabbychic shows two clocks: one big, one small. Are they both embellishments?

1.What would you like? I would like a triptych.
2.Theme? Classic book - any classic book. I love reading :)
3.Colors,style? Not particular on colors as long as they fit into the vintage look. So no wild, modern look or 80s look (read: neon) for me.

I just started my Tim Holtz die collection so I don't have that many... yet. (Who knows what I will have by the time July rolls around?Cool ) But I can use my Cricut to add details and embellishments.

The die cut itself decorated would be considered the embellishment. For example, a Dress Form die cut all decorated would be the embellishment. You can then leave it as an embellishment by itself OR add it to a tag or a card.

Here is an example. I cut this dress using the TH dress form die and decorated it.
It is now an embellishment to add to something.
2nd picture is a tag I added it to.

Hope that helpsSmile

lori here is another example - it would be cut fully embellished that you could use on a project as an embellishment

I posted more inspiration in the opening post.... I will share one here...

The person used two cuts of the baroque die with an additional strip of paper to create a unique shadow box. I think I will have to scraplift this one

You do not have to do the swap like this but here would be an example of the three items

1. Tryptich

2. small shadow box

3. embellishment (see the pocketwatch youtube video - the pocketwatch completed)

You can do any combination of items. this is just an example
