I put you down, Jean. Is this another stamp you picked up at stamp shows? Lucky you! You have some great stamps on hand for when you get messing around with all this mixed media collages I keep seeing on the designer blogs.

Found it in my many boxes of wooden stamps!!!!! I think I only used it once on a card.
I also found 2 really nice vintage dress stamps that I never usedBlushing Blushing Blushing

I only bought a few stamps at the show.BigGrin I ordered some other stuff from these vendors once I got home and checked into their web sites and watched videosLOL LOL

I think I need to get rid of some of my older crafting stuff to make room for newBigGrin

Forgot to say that the stamp is by Stampendous

FYI--- I am NOT telling anyone how to do their embossing just my experience today.

I was playing around with my crow stamp this afternoon and came to a couple conclusionsBigGrin

1. Because there is so much ink space on these types of stamps, I found it better to tap the stamp with the Versamark and the ink pad instead of pressing the stamp on the pad.

You get less ink and the image comes out much better.
Plus there is no overlap of ink around the edge of the image. I had this happen the first couple of times with my crow. It will be fine to use as long as I cut out the crowBigGrin

2. I used my mouse pad as a cushion and it worked better than my table.

I usually don't stamp this way but most of the vendors at the stamp shows did if they used these kinds of stamps.

I'm not surprised to hear this tip Jean. These stamps do have a lot of lines and detail in them for some reason.

Not that it really matters to me, but if you all have time to stamp these up sooner, we can always close sooner as in July 1st instead of the 12th. I just know that I have an easy work week that first week of July...so I know I could sort and mail back easily that week too.

But no pressure as I know some are waiting on stamps to arrive from their orders or are on budgets for mailing expense, etc.

Since this is a stamping swap, I have a stamping question. I have GinaK and Neenah white papers for this swap so I'm good BUT what kind of good stamping paper do you girls get for colored papers. Black would be my first want but Christmas cards would require nice reds/greens too.

COB - I rarely stamp on anything but the good white or cream GinaK paper.

I do buy the colors in GinaK and/or Papertrey ink though...so I have them if need be. I like the heavier paper for diecutting with most of my metal dies.

I have used Stampin Up, Recollections, Core'dinations and GinaK.
It depends on what I am making the cards for. I have had no problems with Stampin Up or GinaK when stamping and coloring. GInaK is certainly better for copic coloring.

I am stamping these images on SU beige paper. Smooth and clean

I use stampin up paper too.

Robin, the stamp set certainly falls under this theme. But which stamps are you going to stamp? Or is the background distress stamp large? like covers a large area so we could use it as a background and then add layers on top of it of our other stamped images? Or even if it just stamped a portion of the quarter paper and then we could build around it.

Just want to make sure whatever you stamp is usable for us. does that make sense?

OOps! you edited your post on me! Okay, hot air balloon it shall be. lol

I need to go back and decide what I am stamping now that I know what everyone else has chosen.
