I deleted my previous post because I FINALLY managed to get my Cricut to work. I was so excited! But it's cutting all wonky. :( It's cutting very asymmetrical. Do I just have a setting wrong, or is there a problem with the arm that moves the blade?

Here's a picture of my "wonky" scallops. The places where the paper is torn either did not cut through at all (small tear), or were where I stopped it when I saw how it was cutting (bottom left).

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or is it just done for and should I seek a refund/replacement from the original merchant?

Thanks in advance!

*edit* These are supposed to be perfect 4" scallops. Used regular 12x12 cardstock with the cutting pressure turned to high.

Fiddled with some settings and it cut a LITTLE better- the first one was perfect. But I used "autofill" and the other 3 were all weird again. This time they look very uneven and like someone with a shaky hand cut them. The first one was perfect, 2nd had 1 weird spot, 3rd was worse, 4th MUCH worse and totally unuseable. The other 2 were milk enough that I could smooth out the rough edges with an X-Acto knife by hand. It's almost as if the band and track controlling the blade just...don't sit in there right.

I have the same issue with my Cricut Expression. When I first got it, it cut fine, but now all of my shapes are asymmetrical, whether I use the fill option or not. Not sure what to do since it's out of warranty...
