Ok, so I have a cricut expression. Purchased in 2006 or 2007. And I have to say I LOVE my machine!!
It absolutely will not let me update the firmware. I have been on the phone with CS several times, they have sent me directions, walked me thru the process and my mat still will not load.
I have tried 3 different internets thinking maybe that was the problem, same thing EVERY time...
I get the step 2 and it starts the update and then the cricut shuts off farthest I have gotten was 3%.
So..........My question is, I have a TON of carts loaded on this machine, if I buy a new machine is there a way to transfer all the carts to a new machine.

Thanks in advance, I am trying to get things ready for my nieces wedding in 2 weeks, and there are things that I really need my cricut for Crying
I have tried using design studio and can not get it to do what I want......I LOVE CCR!!!!!!!

I don't know how to solve your problem but can tell you your carts are NOT on the Expression. I'm assuming you have registered them with the CCR so you can cut without loading the actual carts. IF you do have to buy a new machine you will still be available to use the carts you have purchased. Hope this relives your mind a bit and you do find a solution.

Are you sure you're choosing the E for the update and not another model?

Are you sure your Cricut is in update mode before you start the second pass?

I'd call CS back and run the update while you are on the phone with them.

And, like stated, your linked carts are stored in your cricut.com account, not on a specific Cricut, so you can use them with any Cricut {as long as you are using one of your two computers that have the cutting rights for your account}.
