I found the cutest butterfly page to make my own for my daughter's preschool butterfly release page. When I try to do the title strip in CCR I get this funny triangle or it doesn't shrink correctly. Any ideas? Thanks!

It looks as though this file has a triangle welded on this image. If this is a project you received from someone and imported into your Craft Room, it may be corrupted. I would recommend recreating this file on your own.

I didn't get the file from anyone, I opened up CCR to a blank mat and started creating. The three shapes on the mat are two rectangles and whatever you call the decorative box thing. Thanks!

That same thing happens to me when I try to weld anything but fonts in CCR! Have never been able to figure out why, so if I need to weld things other than fonts, I use my Gypsy!

I've had files where the images didn't weld right {especially if I have stretched the image a lot} and I moved them to a different part of the mat. I tried with shapes from CCR Basics and at first, I got the same result as you. But then I moved to the bottom of the mat and changed the size of the rectangle and it worked. So I'd suggest moving the images and playing with them a little. And, using the Feedback option in CCR.
