yeah, the weekend has arrived and it's a long one at that...Family Day weekend here. We are finally starting to warm up some. We had our Winter Walk at school today, went in early to walk with them as our big guys were walking with the Grade 1 & 2's. All went pretty well and I got to leave an hour earlyBigGrin! My sis took mom to see the knee surgeon yesterday and I guess they are scheduling her for surgery in about 3 months. She has alot to do before then as she has hardly no strength in either leg, so she was sent home with some exercises to do and a list of items she needs to have on hand...including a walker! Which she is still ballking at, how can anyone be so stubborn??

Shelly: my dh surprised me this a.m. with a rose and a Michael's gift card...the first time he's ever bought me one in the 39 years we've been marriedBigGrin! Oh, and some chocolates...just great as he knows I'm back doing Weight Watchers. I think they were actually for himLOL! I didn't bother with a card either. Hope your dd's got your gs's hair cut ok. Your cards and boxes are lovely. I'm still working on my box for the neighbour's birthday.

Joy: enjoy your new computer, hope it's not too big of a learning curve. Glad we don't get the HSN here or I could be in big troubleLOL!

Nancy: Abigail is so cute with her new puppy. Hope you have fun with yours new laptop also.
Hope things go well with dd's job application. You guys sure are getting the snow now, hope it doesn't last long like it does here.

Lydia: hope you had a good time at the Casino

Better run and get back to the birthday box card.

Take care everyone, happy craftingBigGrin BigGrin

Hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! I got some roses and chocolate covered strawberries from DH. We also found out our daughter Jill is going to have a boy! That will be three grandsons and one granddaughter for us. I think it's kind of funny that I am getting so many grandsons. We had four girls and one boy.

Nancy - The pictures of Abigail are so cute! Hope your DD gets good news about the job! Wow, more snow! I'm sorry.

Sandra - Can't parents be fun! I think they are getting us back for the grief we probably gave them as teens. Enjoy your long weekend. Glad it is getting warmer.

Joy - Your computer came quick! Have fun with it. Hope you can figure out it out easily. I made 10 of each card for the people to choose from. They were a hit. They all wanted to make more than one, but I didn't have enough for everyone to do that.

Have a great weekend.

Nice to hear you all had a nice Valentine's Day..I think I might have told you Steve bought me a Bowling Ball for Valentine's Day. Usually I ask for something crafty LOL in fact back in 2007 he got me Cuttle bug and lots of folders. LOL

Last couple of years he would get me roses and they are so expensive here so I figured every time I throw that ball I will think of him BigGrin

Well off to the chiropractor then breakfast then a couple of errands and home again.

I keep saying I need to wash floors and Steve keeps saying don't bother!

So I will scrapbook.

Have a great day all

Oh should I start a new Chat since we are on 41 pages or leave it!!!!!

Sandra, you got your walk done, at last!!!!

I think it is probably very frustrating for our parents to age. They don't want to face their reality. At least I know that my dad is like that. Which makes it VERY hard to reason with him. One part of him thinks he can do what he has always done, yet I know that a lot of him knows that he can't but he chooses to live in denial.

Shelly, yay, another boy! OK. Does this mean our daughters will have boys when they finally have babies!?! We thought Jill would be a boy because males are dominate in DH's family.

Nancy, cute with the bowling ball!

I got a computer! Laugh Funny, though. Our good friends that we like to cruise with - their DIL owns a flower shop, and they brought me flowers with a card signed with DH's name, but DH didn't order the flowers! They did that last year, too, when DH was in the hospital on Valentine's Day. Their poor DIL, she is due with a baby any day, and on the busiest flower day of the year.

I am good with 41 pages as long as they load OK for everyone!!!

Off today to my great-nieces 4th birthday party. It was supposed to be last week, but the weather was awful and my niece-in-law ended up with a sinus infection. We are driving my parents cuz we don't want them driving so far and in the city by themselves.

I am going to have to get used to this keyboard! It is a bit different to type on. I can't seem to hit the space bar correctly.

I did get CCR downloaded. And it opened! I was surprised, as I had it on my REALLY old computer that we sold last fall (removed CCR before we sold it) and it is on the computer that I am just finishing with. I have actually never cut with it. Maybe that makes a difference?

Glad everyone enjoyed their Valentine's Day

It SNOWING IT'S SNOWING the guy across the street from us just got back from vacation (he goes away all the time) just in time his driveway is piled up so high with ice and snow now it has been snowing again he just passes by the house gets out and looks at it shakes his head gets back in the car and is gone. He has been doing this for months.

He was married to my friend for 58 yrs. He knew her since 2nd grade she passes away and with 1 yr. is living with his now GF. I said to my DH I guess there is no more mourning period. Just surprised me to know someone for so long to be married all those yrs. and then in no time living with someone else.

Yet so many of my neighbors who lost their husbands and still living alone. I think it is different for women then men!! just my opinion

great weekend so far. The neighbour's birthday party was fun until we got a call from Troy's home saying he was sick and wanted to come home. So we went and got him at 11:30 last nite, has been fine since so I think it was something he ate. The box card I made for her was a big hit, everyone was amazed by it! Went to mom's today, she was actually relatively pleasant. Tomorrow afternoon a hockey game. Don and I dug out our skates yesterday and went skating as it was so nice out. It's been years since we skated but we had fun and we only fell onceLOL! Then hit Tim Horton's for a coffee and donut...might have defeated the whole excerise purposeBigGrin!

Nancy: I'm ok with the 41 pages also, unless it's a problem for others. Your pages and cards are great. Thanks for the e-mail, I'm sure she doesn't know what she's in for.

Joy: too funny about the flowers. Glad you are getting your computer figured out

Shelly: congrats on the new grandson.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Happy craftingBigGrin BigGrin

Here's a picture of the box card and my dd's birthday card.

Sandra - LOVE your box card. I think they are fun to make. Hope Troy is doing ok.

Nancy - Great cards and layouts. Sorry you are getting so much snow! It was 60 degrees here on Saturday. But it winter is coming back later this week. I will be signed in for a couple of days at a time lately, then I'm not. Can't figure it out.

We had everyone over tonight for Kristi's birthday. It was fun. Poor Emma, my granddaughter, started throwing up though. They think its because they gave her some lasagna, but I think that she has a stomach bug. Hope not. Everything the grandkids get they give to me. I can't get sick. I have to go out to Kristi's for a couple days because she is having surgery on Wednesday. So hoping she didn't give it to me or to Kristi's baby, so I don't have to tend a sick baby. I guess time will tell.

Got some yarn yesterday to start a baby blanket for Jill's baby. I like to make blankets and burp cloths. I probably make way too many, but I find so many cute fabrics I go overboard.

Good morning girls,

Sunny day last 3 days which is nice. DH keeps saying Spring is right around the corner, birds chirping I hope soBigGrin We are suppose to have a couple of days in the 40's.

Funny last night I was watching the Beatles for reason my DVR erased it and DH had it still on his DVR so I went down to the man cave nice and cozy was watching it then my cell phone goes off and my friend from HS (that I am meeting on Wed.) sends me a photo of the 2 of us in her backyard that her mom took. I always liked the sun so here are 2 Italian girls I am so dark and she was very light. Between watching the Beatles 50th Anniv. and seeing this photo brought back so many memories. I inexpensive it was to live then. Then was up half the night because I couldn't get the Beatles songs out of my head.!

Sandra... hope Troy is feeling better and how fun to go skating with your DH and dessert afterwards. Glad you enjoyed the evening.

I love the purple card so pretty and your box card came out really nice. Nice work. I'm sure it was a big it.
Was your card a A2 size card??

Shelly..I hope you don't get sick. Glad everyone enjoyed the birthday party.Hope all goes well with your DD surgery

Yesterday I worked on pages out of order which I have never done usually I do everything in date order. Now I worried what I thought would be a 2 page layout might not be!!

Then I cam across photos that I was missing now working on that. Now I feel like I am in the zone so hoping to work on some pages today

Hopeing everyone has a great day/night

Sandra, your box cards are lovely! Do they get easier after the first one??

Shelly, I hope you stay healthy! Kids love to share when the don't feel good, don't they. Blink

Nancy, is your computer there yet???? Have fun getting it set up. Really, I am doing well with Windows 8. Well, 8.1. Mine did not come with any Office software. I downloaded a free Office-type software that I am sure will be fine for "Word" but I think I will have to get Publisher. I really use it bunches, and this free stuff has no Publisher-type format.

And Nancy, I really like the signpost that you used on one of your scrap pages.

DH is feeling better, but still not great. And he demands my time when he is does not feel great. He just wants to lay his head in my lap. I can't even knit! I can read on my Nook (I have misplaced my Kindle Glare ) but that is about all. I AM going to J's sometime today, though, to get the rest of the supplies I need to make a jacket from some wool I got last fall. It will be a casual jacket, not tailored.

I have over 200 pictures printed to scrap from the trip we took to Europe a couple of years ago. Oh my. It will HAVE to be simple pages.

We are having a BEAUTIFUL sunshiney day. It is cool but just lovely.

I love my new Lap Top it is so easy to use. Just couldn't use my email address because Windows 8.1 doesn't support this Cable Network, it would cost me money to change the domain.. So I had to set up a gmail account, which I will only use on this computer and leave the originally email on my desktop.

It came at 1 pm and so fast.

Joy... I use to sew in High School I made suits dresses. When Patty was born I made a lot of her dresses my mom would help me with the matching panties me and elastic I would mess up.

When I made the last box card I used Crumb cake from SU and it was sturdy and help up nicely.

I have been installing all the programs it came with some I know I won't use so I skipped them.

Joy I use that sign all the time. Thank you
Hope Merle is feeling better

Shelly... it is so nice when someone makes a hand made blanket

Have a good night all

our long weekend is just about done, it was busy but relaxing at the same time. And the weather was beautiful all weekendBigGrin BigGrin I managed to get alot accomplishedBigGrin! Before we left for the hockey game this afternoon, I put some ribs in the slow cooker and boy did they smell good when we came home. I just dumped some b-b-q sauce on top of them and let them cook, along with some onion and garlic. DH and I went for a walk after the game as it was so nice out...a day actually above 0BigGrin! Troy was feeling better by Sun., I think it was just something he ate that didn't sit well with him.

Last nite I decided to order Box It Up and Edge to Edge as M's doesn't seem to be getting any new carts in around here. I just ordered the digital carts and saved a bunch on shipping as there is no more free shipping for usSad!

Thank you for your kind comments on my cards. DD's card was 8 1/2 x 5 1/2.

Nancy: glad you got your new laptop, have fun with it. Glad you got some more pages done

Joy: this is the only box card I made, so I'm sure the next will be easier. Hope you got the supplies you needed for your jacket

Lydia: sorry you didn't win at bingo but glad you had a nice time with your friends

Shelly: my Kristi's birthday is tomorrow (18th), she will be 37. Hope you don't get sick from the little ones, have fun babysitting. Have fun working on dd's baby blanket. I just finished another scarf for a friend while watching the Olympics this a.m.

Better go and get back to some scrapbooking as it was pushed to the side for the cards.

Bye for now, take care everyoneBigGrin

Just a quick update.

DH did not get better and I took him to the ER. He has small intestine obstruction. The dr put a tube in to drain his stomach, and keep it there to keep it empty. The dr hopes by keeping it drained the obstruction will resolve itself. If not, he will have to have surgery to remove it. We pray for it resolving itself! We were glad that the surgeon we like was the one on call. He is very practical and had common sense.

Joy - Prayers for you and DH. Do they know why this keeps happening? Did you get to Joanns before you had to go to the hospital? Hope he doesn't have to have surgery!! Good luck.

Sandra - Glad it was a little warmer for you. Micheals and Joanns around here have next to no cartridges. Wondering what is going on. Glad you enjoyed your long weekend and that Troy is doing better!

Lydia - Good luck with your computer. My dad got a new one over the weekend. My Son helped him with it all weekend. He called me yesterday because he couldn't figure out how to turn it on. Its going to be a LONG time for him to get used to it. He is 85 and calls me all the time to look through the phone to tell him what is going on with his computer. But at least he tries new things.

Well I am supposed to go to my DDs this evening to stay overnight to babysit tomorrow (she lives about 45 minutes away and we may get snow in the morning). She is having surgery for a deviated septum in the morning. I will see what they say and how she is feeling and decide whether to stay another night or come home tomorrow. But her DH will bring her to my house on his way to work (way out of the way) for Thursday and Friday to help her with the baby. But she just called and said she has a cold so she has to go in and see if they are going to postpone her surgery.

Have a good day everyone.

We got 4 inches today thankfully it has been melting

Playing with lap top setting it all up. Did a little bit at a time thankfully it went smoothly

Have a good night/day

Hi. Another fun day in the hospital. DH is doing much better today. Except the tube is still down his nose, which he can't stand.

He has adhesions, or scar tissue, from previous surgeries. This causes the blockages. This one has cleared faster then some.

We have a friend down the hall having ababy today. This is a small hospital.

Shelly, was your DD able to go through with her surgery?

Nancy, how are you doing with Windows 8? I have not been able to play for afew days. Confused

Lydia, opening the doors for fresh air souonds so nice!

I was able to go to J's. Got stuff for my jacket and also a 12x12 book, extra pages, and some plain CS for our Europe trip. I did get 2 little paper packs to maybe mat some of the pics. I would really like to get When I was A Kid for all of the photo corners it has. I will HAVE to keep it simple because I have over 200 pics printed! I got an Oriental Trading scrap catalog yesderday that has some embellishments that might be nice.

Good afternoon all,

Lydia how nice it must be to be able to open your windows for fresh air. Enjoy your good weather

Shelly... How is your daughter doing? How are you doing taking care of the little ones!!

Joy.. glad to hear DH is on the mend... my neighbor has the same problem with the scar tissue causing blockages! I am getting use to Windows 8.1 but I am going a little crazy with my email address it doesn't Support my Cable Network so I might have to change my email address which I would really hate to do!!!

I worked on it for 3 hours last night and was so brain dead after that I gave up!

Well today was a busy day I went bowling and bowled really good with my new ball. Then I met my High School friend for lunch. It was pouring so hard the streets are so flooded between the ice and snow melting it was so bad driving but didn't have to go very far. Lunch was very nice.
Talked about boys from HS and some really nice laughs and she said she remembered we always went dancing every Friday night. She said you still like to dance I said yes I was into Country Western dancing for many ears until I started having knee problems.

So next month we will meet up again for lunch.

Then finished all my errands for the day. Amazing to see the sun shining most of the day then heavy rains.

Well hoping everyone has a good day/night

we woke up to a nice surprise...about 3" of snowAngry! At least it was fairly warm and sunny, so that made it bearable! Is supposed to get colder by the weekend though.

Joy: glad dh is on the mend, hope he gets to come home soon. Glad you were able to get to J's to get your supplies

Nancy: glad you are making out ok with your new laptop. Sounds like you had fun bowling and visiting. Last nite was Troy's bowling also

Lydia: what I would give to open windows right about now, I don't think that will be happening for awhile

Shelly: how did your dd's surgery go? Hope you are doing ok with the little ones

Just booked our flights to Van., BC. for July for Troy's bowling competition. At least, we only have to pay for 2 flights not 3 as Troy's is paid for by Special Olympics BigGrin

Take care everyone else, talk to you soonBigGrin BigGrin

Well, DH convinced the dr that he could come home last night. This is the doc that has done several surgeries on DH, and he is such a practical dr. He knows we have been through this before and know the drill. BUT, DH had a rough night. He has had awful hiccups from his intestines being bloated and pushing on his diaphragm. I finally gave him a muscle relaxer. Then, I really think he had a fever. He said he had a headache so I gave him advil. About an hour after that, his fever broke, then he went to sleep. He finally got up this morning, but promptly fell asleep on the couch. That muscle relaxer will do that! BigGrin Which is fine. He can rest and heal better that way.

Lincoln found more yarn. I am trying to untangle a tangled mess. Luckily, once again, it was not special good yarn. It was yarn for a pair of socks. One sock is done. I have just never gotten around to making the second one!

Sandra, glad you got your plane tickets! Don't you have family in Vancouver?

Nancy, so nice to re-connect with an old friend. And I remember that you used to dance all the time!

This is the first time I have had my computer on for a few days! I am having to get used to the keyboard. It seems as if every keyboard has a different touch. I keep missing the spacebar on this one. I think it needs tapped harder then my old one.

I can tell our weather is changing toward spring because my allergies have been AWFUL for the past few days. I sneeze and blow and sneeze and blow and sneeze and blow. At least I can blow! Flapper

My new box cart came yesterday. I am excited to make a box in the next few days to try it out! I am hoping they will to a G update with the box so I can make BIG ones by hanging part of the cut outside the mat lines. I asked and someone said CCR won't do that.

I may get brave in the next few days and hook my computer up to my I and try CCR with a digital baby cart I bought. I know people say CCR does not work well with I's, but I will have to try since I have the cartridge. I think I own a baby cart and Santa's Village digitally. That is all.

Boy, I typed a novel!

Joy... so glad to hear DH is doing much better. Better he sleeps.. How is Nick doing?
Enjoy your new carts. Were you able to upload CCR on the new computer with no problems!

I am cleaning up my old computer so DH can do his videos on it and Skype he thinks. It is so slow I know for sure he won't have the patience LOL

Have a good night all

Hi everybody.

Nancy - Sounds like you had a nice time seeing your friend. Will be nice to keep in touch with her. Hope you figure out your computer problems. I heard that back east the ground is frozen so deep that there is no place for the snow to go when it melts.

Sandra - Glad you were able to book your flights. Hope you got a good deal on them. Flying is so expensive.

Joy - Glad DH is feeling better. Hope it continues. Need to find a hiding place for your yarn?

Well my DD had her surgery. It went well, but she can't lift or carry anything over 10 pounds for a week, so she can only hold the baby on her lap. He weighs 19 lbs. She has to watch it too, because he is 6 1/2 months and he likes to grab and swat at things. So she is afraid he is going to bump her nose. He's so wiggly. She has to wear this thing on her face that hooks onto her ears and goes across under her nose to hold guaze there for the drainage. They don't pack the noses anymore. The baby would really like to grab that.

I came back to my house tonight when her DH got home. He complained, and complained about having to get up with the baby last night. I offered to get up with him but he said no. Her DH has a cold and so I finally asked if he wanted me to bring Kaden home with me tonight so he could sleep. Boy did he jump at that. So I have him tonight. Her DH will bring Kristi in the morning to stay at my house while he's at work. Then it will be interesting to see how the weekend goes with daddy having to totally take care of him 24/7. He watches him on his day off when she works and does ok, but he really hates to get up at night. I don't know why it is any different for him to get up and go to work than it is for her to do that.

I couldn't get the messageboard to show up on my phone. It would only show 1/2 the page so I could only see the left half of what was written. Weird.

Have a good night.

nice, sunny day here today, not supposed to last though

Joy: glad dh is on the mend, rest is always good. Lincoln sure loves your yarn, doesn't he? It's our dd & sil that live in Vancouver. They are so looking forward to watching Troy bowl. Have fun with your new carts. I got the Box it Up one also, the digital version...haven't tried it yet though.

Nancy: glad you are getting your new computer sorted out

Shelly: glad dd's surgery went ok, now for the recovery. Hope all goes well for her (and you too with the babysittingLOL)

Well, another week is almost done, just to make it through tomorrow at school!

Bye for now, take care everyone. Happy craftingBigGrin BigGrin!
