In a word - no. Once upon a time there were 3rd party software programs that would allow you to do this, but ProvoCraft sued them all. The only way as far as I know would be if you had one of those programs and an older Cricut that has not been updated. The updates to the firmware have killed off the capability of using your own designs.

The Cricut is a cartridge based system. And ALL of the designs are proprietary. Meaning, that in CCR (Cricut Craft Room) you can design anything you want. HOWEVER you CAN'T cut the design unless you own either the physical cartridge or have bought the digital cartridge.

This question comes up consistantly. If you do a bit of "googling" you will find that there are other machines that will give you the capability you are looking for.
**We are forbidden to mention the names of the other machines here on this website - otherwise I would come right out and tell you the name. ***

CCR only uses .ccr files and .gypsy files. You can't use other file types with CCR.

Previous 3rd party software only allowed you to cut from the software to your Cricut. They did not allow file conversion for use in CCR. {The creators of the 3rd party software settled out of court and agreed to stop selling their software as Cricut compatible before CCR was ever introduced.}
