Hello ladies

Just got the sketches tonight...I will have to work the designs along with everybody. I did pick 4 sketches since this is going to be a 2 week challenge. I might throw in an extra one next week if everybody would like to try a new type of design...I found one to try but just didn't have time to get it ready (it was in one my magazines).

Extra credit: Everybody last week was talking about what to do with our "extra cuts" so my challenge for everybody is to use some of them upLOL .

Sketch #1

Sketch #2

sketch #3

sketch #4

Lisa...You picked a good assortment of sketches...they should be fun to do. Great extra credit.

Here are this week's colors. Remember that you don't have to use them, but I find it always fun having this added step to the challenge.

Stopping by to let everyone know I have not fallen off the face of the earth. Right now we are in the process of getting my in-laws downsized and moved from their home of many years to a new home here in our area which is a distance of 3 1/2 to 4 hours away. Things should settle down and get back to a regular busy normal in a few more weeks. I have stopped in from time to time and have seen some awesome art work. I am so looking forward to working on some sketches and getting some cards made for my dwindling stash. I am going to post a picture of my husband's birthday card which I made using the bendy sketch challenge from a few weeks ago.
The lighthouse, seagulls, sailboat, waves were cut from Life's a Beach cartridge. The beachball, sand castle, bucket and blanket, sea shells, and pearls were from a couple of sticker sets. I used some iridescent glitter on the sand to make it sparkly. Enjoy!

LadybugJett,
Of course you can Host the two weeks (July 17th to July 30th) after Lisa, and thanks for offering, that would be great! Looking forward to see what you will have in store for us. I will take the next two weeks after you….July 31st to August 13th.
Seems like we are on a roll here...anyone else up to Hosting and taking the two weeks of August 14th to August 27th??

Joyful Carol....That's a beautiful beach bendi birthday bash card!!! (Sorry, I couldn't resist using all those "B" words!)I actually thought that it was sitting on sand until I enlarged the photo. (So nice that this feature is working again.) I look forward to seeing you back and posting.

Bingolady....No problem. How could I not use that beautiful photo of you! It's a very interesting color combo and one that I wouldn't think would go good together, but I'm really liking it.

LadybugJet....That's great if you can host.

I'm posting another photo of the last card I made because I added several things and I think it looks better. Can you spot the changes? LOL

I hope everyone has a fun and safe 4TH. Turtlebug...you can come over and swim in our lake!

OMG Carol your Bendi card is amazing! I love lighthouses and since we visited the East coast last year I like them even more. This card it like a scene taken on the coast in Maine. Thanks so much for coming back here and sharing it with us.
So nice to see you back

When I first saw Sketch #3 I thought "candles" right away and this is what I came up with. It also gave me a chance to use up and hand-cut the "candles" out of all my odds and ends of cardstock strips. Sorry, no Cricut!Sneaky Sneaky

My #3 Sketch Card and Extra Credit:
Ribbon - Sheer gold Organdy
Stars - Star-shaped gems
Tag - SpellBinders
Sentiment - Computer-generated
Pattern Paper - Michael's single sheet rack
I also popped the Tag with 3-D tape for diminsion.

Here's my take on Sketch #1.

The papers are from a DCWV The Juniper Berry Stack, plus I used assorted scraps.
The flowers were made with several punches. The ribbons I've had for ages.

Turtlebug...Your were right in the changes I made on my easel card, and I even ended up making more after that. LOL. Your #1 card is very nice. I like that embossing folder. Cute cuts and BG paper. Great take on the #3 card. The BG paper works perfect. What computer font did you use? It looks good.

Bingolady...Your #1 card is also very nice. A good use of scraps and I like how you only rounded the corners on the right side.

I hope everyone is having a nice long-weekend...or just a nice weekend for those outside the US.

Enjoy your vacations.

YEAH! I got sketch #1 done.
The circles and butterflies are Michaels stickers that Bingolady's daughter gave
me a while back for my birthday. I thought they were perfect for this sketch.
I mounted them on scalloped circles that were cut using CCR basics.
The background paper is printed using my Imagine and the Better Together cartridge.
The edging in an EK Success punch. The sentiment is a stamp that says "hope you feel better really soon" TFL

I will try and work on #4 tomorrow before we leave.

Turtlebug like your card from sketch 1 your baby card is so cute. Love the soft white daisy background you used. Did you emboss the yellow cardstock circles or was the cardstock already embossed? If you did emboss...what embossing folder did you use? Sketch 3 card really pops. love all of the bright colors used for your candles.

Bingo Lady...could not get your image to open up. I am sure though...from reading other comments that your card is very unique.

Dee Scraps........your card using sketch one is cute. Like all of the flowers used in the center of the circles and your choice of shades of blue and green.

NanaDonna really like the cute butterflys you used on your card made from sketch 1 and your choice of the punch you used for the edging.

Hope everyone has fun this weekend and safe vacations.

JoyfulCarolBendi Card - AWESOME!!! LOVE every detail on this card, right down to the "sparkling " sand! Love the way the lighhouse extends over the edge of the card. Everything looks so realistic and great job on the proportions!!

BingoLady#1 - Cute! Like all the animals, especially the "talking" Parrot..."HELLO"!! I even see Duncan on there...may he RIP.

DeeScraps#1 in Ad Colors - You nailed the AC perfectly. Like the combo of the BG paper with the floral pattern of the flowers. Like the corner flower with the "grass-like" cut you used. Did you just snip around it with scissors??

NanaDonna#1 - Nice and bright color combo! Like the co-ordinated flowers and butterflies, and adding the pink circles under the stickers makes them really pop. The border cut is very pretty, have always debated about buying it whenever I see it at the store, you have officially enabled me, now!!

Need to go do some packing for our vacation tomorrow. Hope I have time today to make one more card. If not, everyone have a great week-end and see you all in about 8-9 days.Smile

Hi Dee,
Thanks for asking about the Font I used on my card. I went back and tried to find it cause I forgot which one it was. I found some of these that are similar and the last one I like for a female child...thought it was pretty. Hope you like some of these and have them on your computer.

Hi Kiethann,
Thanks for asking about the embossing folder I used on my card. Yes, I did emboss the yellow circles. It is a Cuttlebug folder by ProvoCraft called "Baby's Breath". It also comes with a strip folder, which comes in handy for embossing borders or only a small section of the cardstock. You can find it at Michael's (where I bought mine) or JoAnne's and HobbyLobby might have it, also.

Here is a photo of the entire embossing folder:
