I am in the process of restore my Expression 2 machine because it was frozen. I have followed the steps to restore my Expression 2 machine. I am at the point I need to touch the screen and follow the prompts. Well my screen is still frozen, therefore making it impossible for me to move forward to the following step. Please advise, my machine is a month old and I've only used it a handful of times, so I am really concerned.

Since it's a new machine, I would just call PC on Monday and talk with customer service. Make sure you have registered your machine in your cricut.com account.

Cursing We should have read the forums before buying the Expression 2. Multiple issues found here and I'm even a IT guy in the industry for over 20 years. My wife just purchased the Expression 2 today and was told to go to Cricut Sync to update it. Multiple issues encountered and I've been working on this for my wife for over 5 hours. This is crap and she is returning it tomorrow to Joanns.

1) Device Driver did not install.
2) Found information on how to manually load Cricut craft room and then point driver to specific folder.
3) Finally got USB/Device to connect.
4) Finally downloaded Cricut Sync.
5) Sync froze the system when updating.
6) Cricut froze on splash screen.
6) Found information on how to perform restore.
7) Tried restore 3 times with various issues and it's still not working.
7a) Process stuck at process firmware
7b) Process stuck at Expression 2 restart
7c) Process is stuck on sending file 1 of 2 for over 2 hours.
8) I'm done and it's being returned tomorrow. I don't know how anyone crafty that has an advanced IT degree but this is ridiculous.

Very frustrated and tired. If it wasn't so expensive, I would take it out and shoot it with my gun to take out my frustrations. BigGrin

I'm sorry you've had such problems! I'm crafty but have zero computer knowledge. . .everything I know, I read, I learn from Narelle or my DH/kids who are all computer whizzes. But, I set my E2 up all by myself! Woot

I would still recommend calling PC on Monday. Once you get it set up, your wife will enjoy crafting with it.

I'm having the exact same problem as neaville.family. I've been trying to update for two days now, every now and then I would get a "server error" pop up. I have to wonder if it's a server problem and not a machine problem.
