This is one meant purely for the "Material Girl" in all of us !! Love
If you could have any gift for Christmas this year, regardless of the price, what would you REALLY like to have ?

I would like a brand new car that I DON'T have to pay for. Any one I want with any accessories that I want.BigGrin

For me , it would be an all-expense paid trip to Paris France !! Woot Wub

WOW...there are so many things....but the top of my list would be that our business generated enough revenue for my husband to work the business fulltime while being able to travel the world.

I know it sounds cheesy....BigGrin

I got a Barbie that I was in love with for years. It was the first grownup girl toy I got. Although I was jealous of my little sister for years because she got a Barbie the same year and she got the blonde Barbie and I got the brown haired Barbie. Granted she was blonde and I was brown haired, but in my eyes she got the "real" Barbie. Funny the things we think of as kids.LOL

I got a Christy doll one year. I loved her becuase she had red hair. The doll had a knob on her back that you would turn and it would make her hair short. If you pressed her belly button and pulled on the hair it would make it long.

Also loved when we got the roll up plastic sleds. Used to love going sleding with my siblings. Some years when it was really cold my dad would check if our pond had frozen over by driving his tracker over it if it held that it would hold us sleding acrossed it can you imagine how fase the sleds with the mental runners would go acrossed that frozen ice. It was always a great time.

My favorite gift which I knew I was getting(even before Christmas) was a dancing stage for my Barbies. It had a lever you turned to make Barbie twirl across the stage. You could even make her slide across the stage also by taking her off the magic spinning gear and put her on the straight track. I played with this stage daily until the mechanisms would not work anymore. The best part was my little sister also got a stage so she could make her own Barbie dance on stage.

Your little goody should be in the mail tomorrow Donna - enjoy !

By the way - I received my first an original Barbie Doll for Christmas when I was 10 years old. She was brunette like me too ! Remember how the arms and legs were stiff ? What a challenge it was to dress and undress those dolls ! Mine was always the star of a fashion show .... my greatest thrill was making clothes for her and my girlfriend from next door and I would get together and create cardboard "runways" and have fashion shows with our Barbies ...LOL

My sister and I used to have fashion shows too. I actually learned to sew making Barbie clothes. The first time I sewed, I put the seams on the outside. hahaLOL Boy I needed lots of practice.Flapper Laugh

DOnna - that comment about sewing on the outside got me to thinking that I think I may have done the same thing ! Well, I was only 9 years old and it was all done by hand and those tiny outfits were hard to work with. I used to get my Grandmother's quilting scraps to play with...she eventually taught me about sewing properly. Also how to crochet...she was a genius with any kind of needle !

Hope everyone is having a good time...and many thanks to our new member AbbyLin - who is all the way over in Guam !! The cool thing is that she can use regular US Postage to mail from there since it is a US Territory. Usually we get at least one Swap member from Canada, but not this time. Last Christmas my partner was in South Africa ...that was a fun experience . I learned a lot about their culture and way of life by emailing her. So I always welcome members from other countries.

Don't forget to answer this weeks bonus question !! ThumpUp Wub

I think I was around 9 or 10 when I started sewing but it was on the machine. My mom was tired of me asking her to make my doll clothes so she showed me how to cut out the patterns and how to use the machine. She did neglect to tell me about sewing the seams by putting outside to outside. I sewed them the way they were together. When I was done I was sooo proud that I had made it. That's when my mom let me know that I had done it wrong. I left it that way and made the next one with a little more instruction from her and I also asked along the way. She told me to read the pattern and instructions and it tells you all you need to know but I didn't quite understand everything. I am quite proficient at sewing now and have sewn professionally in the past, the distant past.LOL LOL Laugh

Everyone here should be very aware that this gal is a known flaker on this MB!

And exactly why names should never be removed from the list. The worst offenders seems to know how to wait a year and then sneak their way back in here to scam us again.

Barb, you need to get her removed asap! I am sorry but this is just wrong.

She tried getting in my swap too earlier this week but I said no as I remembered her name.

Hi Everyone !

The "Angel" situation has been solved...thanks to all who offered to help. Wub
I just wanted to say that I will be getting the addresses to you soon...hang in there. ALso, I know that some of you have questions about your Secret Sisters, but trying to relay answers to questions between 13 other people is nearly an impossible task for me as hostess. Please rely on the MQ for your ideas and your instincts. Everyone here is a wonderfully talented crafter and I am sure that your partners will be delighted with anything you make for her.

and be sure to post your answer to this week's bonus question before MIDNIGHT !

THANKS !! Love
