I just downloaded the CCR to my computer and I can't decide whether to link my cartridges or not. Would someone like to comment on this and give me the reasons why and why not? Thank you. Wub

I had all of my carts linked to my Gypsy & once the ability came to link both I did! It is nice to link both & not have to insert carts to cut!

All you have to do to link your carts is to select the cart you want to link from the ALL CARTRIDGES list & insert your cart into your machine which is connected to your computer & hit "LINK" & follow instructions from there! EASY!

Linked all of mine, stored them away in plastic storage tubs and never looked back! It's great to be able to pick an image from any cart that I have and cut it without having to get the cart and insert it.

The only downside I see is if you think you will ever sell your carts. When you link it, you agree to the EULA which states you won't sell it after it's linked. Although lots of people don't honor their word and still sell linked carts, they sell for less than just used ones.

Mine are all linked as well. They are also linked to my Gypsy.

The first day I played with CCR and fell in love with the ease of it..I linked every one of my 125 cartridges! It saves me the hassle of incerting the cart when I want a cut from and when I do a 'search' in CCR for an image, I know right away if I own that cartridge or not. I also like having the MY CARTRIDGES section so I can work straight from a cartridge and not have to search my room for it.

So If you have used CCR and like it and believe that is how you will use your cricut machine from now on..then by all means link those cartridges! But if you don't like CCR..then don't even waste your time linking them.

Joyce

Agree with Scrapalette - I've linked all of mine and it just makes it so much easier than having to use the physical cartridges.

The downside is on the resale side.

And I think Joyce G - hit the nail on the head when she said it largely comes down to how you feel about CCR. I LOVE CCR and never use my machines without it. If you don't feel the same way then linking might not make as much sense.
