We can all support our friends affected by the furloughs that government has imposed by VOICING OUR OPINION. Please take time to send emails, etc to your Congressmen/Women asking them to make all whole NOW not 2 weeks or months down the road. These folks have bills to pay and need their paychecks as they are not as fortunate as many of our Congressmen/Women who continue to receive their salaries which many could survive without. Lastly remember our friends at the next general election of those who have harmed us at this time.

Thanks! I am waiting on a phone call to find out whether or not we go back Monday. Looks like a lot of Dept. of Defense employees will go back next week.

Air Traffic Control has been working through the furlough with no pay. I understand that everyone needs their paycheck but I don't see how its fair that those who didn't have to work get paid for being furloughed while the men and women who couldn't even take sick leave won't see any extra. JMHO!

Somebody decided at our command that DoD employees weren't supposed to be furloughed, so....

DH is back at work, but only God knows when we will get paid.
Can I write, "Furloughed by US Gov't. You will get paid when we do" on our bills?

Dh was not furloughed this time around but next pay period will be short because we still don't know when funds will be released to actually get paid. I have mixed feelings over the whole thing. Who determines who is essential and who is not? Seems like when there is a weather related day no one is essential because they do not want to be out in said weather. But when there is a furlough then everyone is essential. I also don't understand how putting so many people on furlough and then voting to make sure they get paid solved any thing. Why not just let them all work?

Back to work without pay. At least, I know they can't decide not to give back pay since we will have actually worked our hours. There is a lot of discussion that employees who do not actually work during the shutdown may not see back pay. This is such a mess!

I think we should FIRE ALL of the those involved with this disgusting and immature crisis.

I blame ALL of them, Democrat,Republicans and President, they are ALL equally to be blamed. If we stopped their paychecks until this is settled, it would be settled real QUICK.

I am so sorry to those who have been effected by the needless Furloughs.

I am in total agreement that Congress and the President shouldn't get paid or any "Benefits" until they get this mess figured out. My family is not personally affected but my heart goes out to those who are.

The furloughed employees will be paid when the govt opens back up. So....they're getting a taxpayer funded vacation.

Many of us are working our normal schedules but simply won't be paid until after the shutdown is over how ever long that is. So no "taxpayer funded vacation" here.Glare

Federal contractors and non-federal employees who work for government agencies will not get backpay. That is about 20,000 people. Furthermore, the bill that passed the House to give back pay to federal workers has not passed the Senate and there are several Senators who have stated that workers who are not working during the shutdown should not get back pay, despite the fact that those workers do not have the option to work through the shutdown.

Obviously, you are not furloughed, nor do you know anyone who is. We are back at work every day, 7:30 to 4:00, and we haven't been paid since mid September.

Vacation, my butt!

In addition, Congress has not released funding for Veterans with disabilities, so we're short there too, and there is no talk about back pay there at all. My heart bleeds for those who depend on VA disability as their major source of income.

I still want to send in my bills marked, "We are furloughed by the government. You will get paid when we do".
