I'm using the new mats, the middle sticky one (general) that says its okay for use with vinyl. When I remove it from the mat the backing of the vinyl sticks and I've now ruined my brand new mat! Even using the kiss cut method with manufacture settings, I'm getting the vinyl cuts through the entire backing which is probably part of the problem.

How do i get the vinyl backing not to tear and ruin my mat? The lady at the craft store wasn't much help... Open to suggestions! Does it make a difference if you use a specific brand of vinyl?

If your machine is still cutting all the way through, you need to go down a number. If you were at 3 for the blade, go down to 2. I've found that my E2 needs to be at 2 and my E needs to be at 3.
