I am trying to figure out how I can cut a square out of a square to make a frame. Can anyone please give me instructions.

I'm not sure that it can be done, at least not very easy if you are using just your machine. If you are using craftroom to design with, check this post out to see if it helps you. You can do what you are wanting to do very easily in craftroom. https://www.cricut.com/f...---Copy-and-Pasting.aspx

If you are using an Expression (without CCR), you can CUT your first largest square....and without removing the mat, use the CENTER option to cut a smaller square right over the first one. I'm seeing this in my mind; haven't actually done it. BUT, I don't see why you couldn't do that.

In CCR, I use two mat layers to lay one image on top of the other. Then, when I CUT the first image, without going out of the CUT function, I go ahead and arrow over to CUT my second image, which cuts right over the first that is already on your virtual mat.
