Good evening everyone!

While I'm not a new member, I figured this was the best place to ask my question. I've had my paper trimmer for awhile, but in all honesty, I haven't used it much. But now that I'm needing to use it, I cannot get it to cut straight for the life of me! I even had my daughters use it to make sure it wasn't just me. But they had the same problems. Anyone had this problem? I don't suppose there'd be a fix for it other than going out and buying a different one?

Any suggestions you may have are eagerly welcomed!

Thanks,

ElizabethCool

Mine works just fine and I've had it for about 4 years now. Smile

Mine works okay also, but I have noticed some warped ones in the stores. Maybe yours is warped. I don't like the cricut paper trimmer anyway, so I hardly use it.

Elizabeth, I had the same problem with mine after I changed the blade (brown) for the scorer. When I went back and put the blade piece back in, it kept giving me a crooked cut. I finally went and bought myself a nice fiskars one and I love it!

Thanks for the info! ThumpUp Tigger2000, you mentioned that you use a cutter by Fiskar. Do you mind me asking which one? If I ever hit the lottery, I think I'll have to buy stock in Fiskar (not to mention most of their products), but I like getting info from people who use specific products!

Mary, you also mentioned that you rarely use yours. Do you just not use a trimmer? Or is there another one you prefer to use? If you have a different one you like to use, which do you use?

Thanks again guys for the replies, I really appreciate it!

Hi!
I've been crafting a long time and cutters are a challenge.

I have an old Fiskars rotary back when they were sold for $35 at Costco many years ago.

I've tried the smaller paper cutters, even the green Cricut ones. They are okay for quick trimming but aren't all that straight and they don't work well with 12x12 papers.

I bought the Martha Stewart trimmer (coupons of course) and it's not a favorite.

So I purchased the Fiskars Procision Cutter, it's pricey, around $120 or so, and I used a half off coupon at JoAnn's. It's heavy, it will cut 12x12 papers and it folds in half so it takes up less room on the desk.

One of the problems I have run into is that I am mostly a card maker and I like to cut paper down to 5.5 for my cards. Half of an 8x11 piece of paper. A lot of the small trimmers or trimmers with extensions, don't give a good 5.5 measure.

The Fiskars Procision cutter folds in half between 5.5 and 6" so when it's folded I can cut card sizes without opening it up all the way. It has a self sharpening blade and the grid marks are easy to work with.

I am sure there are a lot of different trimmer choices, but this one is working for me.

Hope this helps

I love mine! Bought mine when I started scrapbooking about 5 years ago! Blades tend to need to be replaced more often that I would like to replace them.
