Hello everyone I am happy to be hosting this 2 week challenge. If you have never joined us jump right in there, you will be so inspired and have a lot of fun, but be warned it is addicting.

SINCE WE ARE TAKING A 2 WEEK BREAK FROM THE HOLIDAYS AND THE NEW CHALLENGE DOES NOT START TILL JAN 1st i AM LEAVING THIS ONE OPEN TILL THEN IF ANYONE SHOULD HAPPEN TO GET SOME EXTRA TIME AND GET TO MAKE A CARD.

The sketches are put up for inspiration to get your creative juices flowing, twist them, turn them flip them it is totally up to you. Do one or all four the choice is yours, just come back here and share your creations when you are done.

Here are the sketches I chose for this week, I hope you like them.

Sketch #1

Sketch #2

Sketch #3

With the holidays fast approaching I picked this sketch as I thought it would be a good one to make some fast Christmas cards and easily make multiples of if you need to.

EXTRA CREDIT - Make one Christmas card using non-traditional Christmas colors.
Just for fun another extra credit make sketch #4 using all white and one other accent color using a Christmas color, ie red - green - silver - gold. If you are feeling inspired and brave do both extra credits would love to see what you come up with.

Here is my sketch #1 sample.
Background paper is from Sassy Designs
The half circle is vellum and I sprayed it with Tattered Angels and drug it around to make the swirls, then I embossed it with a Anna Griffin embossing folder.
I was so happy when I found the happy birthday stamp in my collection as it fit perfect on that rectangle. It is a Stamper's Best stamp.
I cut the corners using my Cricut cartridge Picturesque.
I added some Cloud 9 epoxy buttons to the bottom

Sketch #2
All the cuts are from the Artbooking cartridge including the chevron background. This will probably end up being my hubbys birthday card as he loves baseball.

Sketch #3 this one was a bit of a challenge, but I guess that is why this is called a challenge.BigGrin The papers are all from Sassy Designs Ballet Girl paper set. I printed them then cut them to fit together for the sunburst background. The bow was cut using the Artiste cartridge and then I added a flower eyelet and pearl to the center. Ovals cut using Craft Room basics and CCR. The "1" I cut using my "other" machine. This will be for one of our great-granddaughter that turns one the first part of next year. I love the color combination.

Sketch 4 and in the extra credit
Papers are from Christmas papers I have had for several years. The snowflake was cut using the Artbooking cartridge. Ran them through my Xyron machine then sprinkle MS glitter over them in a couple shades of pink. My non-traditional Christmas colors. Merry Christmas is also cut from Artbooking

My second extra credit using white and gold. The white paper is pearl and embossed with a Sizzix embossing flower. Snowflake cut using Winter Wonderland cartridge. Added a gold glitter brad to the center. Label cut using CCR and Art Philosophy then stamped with a Gina K stamp and heat embossed

Great sketches and very nice cards. I've lots of Christmas and some birthday cards to make, and these sketches will work well.

Turtlebug....you asked about the card I made my hubby...yes, the vintage cut was from one of the pages in the paper pack. The die can be ordered from: mftstamps.com They have several sizes so pay attention to that.

Here are this weeks colors. Nana Donna...you nailed it with one of your cards. LOL.

Hello to all of you ladies.
Well I thought I would make sketch #2 first, it looked the easiest one. And I had
Santa cut out. Santa is a cut from Doodle Charms cart. And the wreaths are cut
from Celbrate With Flouish cart.

#1 and Ad Colors - WOW!!! Beautiful and elegant, the BG paper looks like delicate black lace and what you did with the vellum...what a great effect! The two different corner styles and buttons are so pretty and add so much to the look of the card. WOW!!

#2 - Very nice male card, love all the Chevrons and perfect color combo for a card featuring America's favorite pasttime. DH will love it!!

#3 - This is the one I think I will have some trouble putting together...it does look very challenging. This card is so cute and girly and in one of my favorite color-combos. LOVE all the assorted paper patterns and the #1 and small cardstock bow are so pretty.

#4 and Ex. Credit - Red and Black for a Christmas card???? It looks sooooooo pretty!!! Love the glittery snowflake, it looks like it is rotating in midair, and swirly paper has a very expensive look. Awesome card!

Second Ex. Credit - Pretty CAS card, sometimes less is more and this card proves it, plus it has alot of dimension. Love the snowflake shadowed in gold...perfect sentiment, too!

The snowflakes are a couple shades of PINK even more odd for Christmas, that is why I thought it would be a fun extra credit to make a card using non-traditional Christmas colors.

Happy week-end everyone!
Did mangage to get this card done last night, but too late to take a photo of it...here it is:

My Sketch Card #4 in the Non-Traditional Colors Ex. Credit:
BG Cardstock - A 6X6 plastic packet called "Tye Dyed" I at found at Big Lots for $3. Some very pretty tie-dyed patterns in assorted colors and textures. Sorry, no company name on it.
Ornament - Winter Wonderland cart
Embossing - Darice "Ornaments" folder
Sentiment - From Michael's $1 bin, stamped with Staz-on black ink
Added a light purple pearl Brad at top, some pearls and purple gems for decor. I also used Pearl X in "Iridescent" to mist the white Bell cardstock.

I wanted to share a card I made for Mojo Monday this week. There is no Cricut on it. The background paper I made using my Distress Paints that I recently got. The pot is stamped and heat embossed with copper embossing powder. I will add a sentiment when I decide how I want to use it. TFL

Sketch #2 The nativity was cut at 2" for the silhouette and layer and then the layer cut again at 2 1/2" from Inspired Heart cartridge. The vintage song sheet was printed with my computer printer. Used some ribbon and black "jewels" from my stash. The stitching was done with my black marker around the edges--not really stitching.Blushing

Hi Ladies,
OMG!! I have finally flipped my wig!! I made this card...Skecth #2, thinking I was making the second Ex. Credit Challenge. I misread and thought that Ex. Credit #1 was to use Non-Traditional Colors, and that the 2nd Ex. Credit was to make a card in TRADITIONAL Christmas colors (red, white & green).Duhhhhh!! Then, I thought...no, this card I made using this week's Ad Colors...well, wrong on that count, too! Back to the drawing board!!LOL

So here is what I made by error, but decided to post it anyway:

The only Cricut I used was Accent Essentials for the green foil cardstock to mat the red circle on. The red circle with the Angel is from a Christmas card we recieved from BingoLady and her Hubby a few years back. I cut it out with a Spellbinders circle die and added the silver stars to it.
Chevrons - By Michael's a Recollection Chevron Border Punch, which I snipped to separate them and added red star gems. Ribbon is from my stash and I added silver stars to the corners.
TFL!!Smile

Britishgirl - glad to see you pop back in and make a card. #4 great card, I love this sketch as it makes an easy card but yet so pretty. Love the saying too. Hope you get a change to make some more cards this challenge.

Carol - wonderful card, love that nativity scene. and your faux stitching is a very nice touch. love that background paper.

Turtlebug - great card, I love that punch for the chevrons, never saw that one. great colors and love the matting. It's OK then we get to see another card from you with the ad colors LOLBigGrin

sure is quiet around here hope everyone gets a chance to play around tomorrow and make some cards.

Sketch #2 like my other #2 except in green and black. I did cut the papers a little bit different sizes so no "stitching" on the green one!

Sketch #4- I did all white except for an accent in red. I cut the same nativity silhouette at 2" from Inspired Heart (It was already out from my last two cards--lazy? time saving? challenging?Flapper) only in my accent color of red. I used my snowflake embossing folder to emboss on the white paper. I used a doily from my stash. The word "rejoice" was cut from Inspired Heart cartridge phrase feature at 1"

#2 - Cute Santa and nice layered wreath, perfect embossing folder. Nice card.
#1 in Ad Colors - Very pretty, like the addition of the matting on the cuts and the red panel is the perfect choice in the center. What is the name of your new embossing folder? I like it alot. Pretty pattern paper for the ACs.

NanaDonna
Mojo Card is very pretty! Love the torquoise BG and the heat embossed pottery stamp. The colors of the paper in Distress Paints are colors that can be seen all around here in the desert landscape, artwork, home decor, Indian pottery and jewelery. Awesomw card and colors, TFS!

britishgirl
#2 - Love this CAS card, the simple snowflake looks very nice against the pure white embossing and layered sentiment.

Joyful Carol
#2 - Great card! How creative to download the sheet music from the computer and "Silent Night" is the best to have chosen. Love the color choices for the Nativity scene. The second one in green without the stitching is nice as well. Like the star you added next to the song title.
#4 and Ex. Credit - Very pretty, the Doily and the red and white color combo give it a very elegant look. Like the sentiment with the two types of fonts to it.

Donna,
The chevrons are a border punch, not individual cuts. This is what a strip of it looks like:

Roads to slick for me to go over to son's house today. He told me grand daughter iced in and no power, temp 26 degrees inside. They live in an apartment.

So spent today working on one of the sketches. Here is my take on sketch 2. I used Christmas Noel solutions cartridge and also Joys of the Season. I flipped over some glitter ribbon (wrong color) and used the back side. Used a MS punch to make the evergreen branches. Had some small gold Merry Christmas stickers for the bottom ribbon. I stamped part of an evergreen tree stamp and lightly stamped the image on the card to fill in the blank spaces. Used red and white flocking for Santa Hat and beard. Of course had to have some bling also.
