I will try posting LID Challenges again and see what happensBigGrin
Every couple of weeks I will post 2 sketches. You can do one or both. Use these sketches as a starting point for your layouts. If you have to rotate the sketch, that is perfectly fine. If you need to rotate some pictures, that is fine alsoLOL Let's see how you interpret the sketches and adapt your photos to them.
There is no commitment to these challenges. They are just a way to get you going on your layouts. I bet many of you still have your holiday photos to scrap!!!!!

Please try and post a picture of your finished creation so we can all enjoy!!!!

For the single layout sketch, I am going to repost the sketch from Nov 2013 along with the January Pagemaps single and double layout sketches. So you can do 1, 2 or all 3BigGrin

If you click on the photo, then click download image, you can print it out.

Also you can add or take away photos if you want. For example, in the last sketch, instead of using 3 photos like they do, try using just 2 photos or maybe 4!!!!BigGrin

Just have fun!!!!!

LID stands for "Laying it Down". Not sure exactly why the swap was named this as I was not the original host. That was Bearylish. She started this a long time ago and I picked it up when she left the MB.
We used to get lots of people to do these sketches but like the rest of the MB, people seem to have disappeared. PC certainly doesn't make it easy for us on here so I can understand. They are always changing things and not always for the better. Now there are login problems for someBlushing

I hope you will give it a try. No stress or pressureBigGrin

Nice!!!! I am in awe of people that can do layouts without pictures!!!! Blushing Blushing Blushing I have done a couple but I really don't do well without the picturesBigGrin

I think it is because I HAVE to coordinate my paper colors with my pictures. It takes me longer to choose the right papers than it does anything else.LOL

I do have my pictures chosen for these sketches. Hope to work on one or two of them this weekend.

Sunnieday: Wonderful layout and love your color scheme...so springlike. We sure need that:) Are you making a book?

I too have all my pictures picked out for all three layouts...would like to change my double layout pictures if I can find the ones I know I have printed off somewhere. Now comes the hard part...finding paper.

Here is a layout I did yesterday at a crop. I am making a baby book for a boy. I used 4 blocks for pictures instead of 6. That's a football background.

Sketch one is of the 4 major things that I wanted to do if I ever got to Nashville. I took tons of pictures at all these places and will be scrapping more.
Country Music hall of fame, Ryman Auditorium for a show(saw The Whites, Rascal Flatts and others) Gaylord Opryland Hotel and lots of Honky Tonks!!!!!!

2nd layout is from a river boat trip we took while in Costa Rica. Unfortunately, I was sick for half the trip and this was our one day off the resort.Blushing Blushing It was a good day spent seeing birds, monkeys, crocodiles & iguanas.

Even though I ruined my double layout I am not redoing it. I went through my cartridges and could not find anything I liked or wanted so I then turned to my stamps. I don't have a lot but kind of liked this stamp but it didn't turn out like I wanted it or pictured it. Any ideas to fix it?

My mom was still with us (she had hip surgery a few months before) and we decided to take a drive up to the mountains to a new hot springs that had opened up for the 4th of July.

Cartridge: George for the circles.

still got to do my other two layouts but my family was just being ridiculous Saturday with their complaining that I would rather craft than spend time with them and so I ended up not getting them done.

I do have need a little bit of help with title and paper choice for my layout.

I think figuring out my title is going to help me choose my paper...I hope.

For the last 36 years I have a family Christmas party where he have always had a santa. This year they were unable to get a santa so it was decided that my grandpa and grandma would hand out the gifts. I have three pictures to scrap of my grandparents handing a gift to my son, daughter and husband. I am drawing a blank on a title. My grandparents are in their 80s so these are treasured moments. Any thoughts?

Thank you
Lisa

finally my second layout is done. I cut all the pieces I needed and put it together at my daughter's bball practice...sitting there for 2 hours I might as well get them done. I usually just take my book. Note to myself...next time take the sketch with me as I was trying to go from memory.

Not the best picture...just kept getting a glare off of it. Even got the journaling on there so it completely done.

Cartridges: Mickey and Friends (film strip)

finally...all three. Don't look to closely as I strayed from the layout but had to make my pictures work. My grandpa was sitting on a bench and my stick man (son) is so tall that I couldn't really shrink the picture down (I didn't take the picture).

okay...now that I am caught up I want to ask some questions.

If you print your own pictures do you use a special program? What kind of printer do you use? I have an HP Officejet and tried to print pictures but they weren't very good. I want to be able to create my own sizes.

First of all it might not be your printer. It could be that the pictures need to be taken at a higher resolution. Check your camera's manual.

If you take a low resolution picture and try to blow it up, it won't come out very well. If I am just taking a picture to post on this MB, I can use a low resolution but if I want to have a 8X10 photo, I need a higher resolution. Hope tthat makes sense and helpsBigGrin
I have a Epson Photo printer and I use Adobe Photoshop Elements. It is a smaller and less expensive version of Adobe Photoshop.
